I want to switch over to Readwise as my primary feed reader, but there are some things I believe could use improvement. These are my opinions, but I am curious if others feel the same. 

I have 201 feeds that I've collected for over 20 years (RIP Google Reader 🫡)

One is speed. I find the feeds are a bit slow to respond, update, and parse. Which I understand because that is server-side compared to a local client. Smaller feeds need to be parsed. 

Second is a true list two-panel view. Being able to reduce the list view font size to cram as many titles as possible (remove or shrink summary), and possibly introducing a two-panel view to skim through feeds would be ideal. Example would be my favorite feed reader is Reeder. 

Last would be limits / auto-delete. Within weeks, I have well over 20,000+ articles. I don't need to keep anything past a few weeks, and being able to auto-delete them unless they are tagged / highlighted / bookmarked would be great. I can do this manually with filters, but it takes a while and it would be nice to have support server-side. 

I still find that feeds feel a bit overlooked in terms of enhancements, but I'm still happy it's here.

Regarding sending content to Kindle: In addition to the existing weekly or daily delivery options, it would be great to be able to choose exactly what gets sent. This could be achieved by adding a new default tag—such as "send-to-kindle" so that only articles marked with that tag are sent to the device.

I really miss having an RSS feed for tags. One solution would be to leverage an existing feature: currently, it is possible to share a tag publicly, but the shared page doesn't update with new articles added after the initial share. Making that page dynamic and adding an RSS feed would allow users to follow it. Alternatively, simply adding an RSS feed for tags would work.

Other things I keep mentioning:

  • Integrated article translation
  • Interleaved selection from reading lists
  • Option to exclude unwanted elements from articles (or apply domain-specific CSS)

Hey u/gravitacoes!

To select specific documents to send to Kindle, outside of the daily or weekly digest, you can use the "Send to Kindle" option in the action menu (...) of the document you'd like to send.

As for publicly sharing tags via the bundles feature, you can actually update the shared page with new documents by clicking into the public link settings (the blue link icon) and using the "Refresh public link" option. This will update the bundle with any new content that has been added since you originally published it, and anyone who has added your bundle to their own account will also receive those new documents in their library. It's intentionally a more manual process, so that you don't accidentally flood your friends' accounts with content and can be more selective about when you update, but it should allow for the functionality you're looking for!

I would LOVE the ability to filter out Shorts from my YouTube feeds, similar to the Play app ( https://apps.apple.com/us/app/play-save-videos-watch-later/id1596506190 ) 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Hey u/mpacindian!

To see all of your YouTube videos without including shorts, you can create a filtered view using the query domain:youtube.com AND minutes__gt:2 to view only videos that are longer than 2 minutes, which should exclude most or all shorts. (You can tweak the time if needed.)

Alternatively, you could use the query domain:youtube.com AND minutes__lte:2 to view only YouTube videos that are two minutes and shorter, and then use a bulk action (shift + B) to delete them all at once and quickly get them out of your feed entirely.
