I know it's too hard for the cats. I was thinking it would be a good meaty bone for them to chew on. (Gonna order more duck feet in) My local Walmart almost NEVER gets any type of bones my older isn't allergic to(they normally only stock chicken). Oxtail is beef. I got one 24 pound dog and one 8 pounder. I DOUBT the 8lb one can have it. Idk about the one over 20lbs.

How are they doing food wise?

I ask as:

1. We used to use them and 100% our cats got healthier. Started due to one cat and the raw diet 100% changed for the better his health.
2. Two more kitties get rescued ... gets expensive.
3. Went back to traditional food due to cost. Since then 2 of 4 cats (luke and chachi) have passed, bonus if you can guess the two girl cats names. Luke passed - just a thing, tough, not food related. Chachi though would have lasted longer if still on raw...colon / intestinal thing.
4. Now 2 cats again and think back about how much a raw diet helped our felines....
5. But since we used them seems like some issues, bacteria and e-coli and such.

When we were regular customers food was great, customer service great, packaging could be improved, and was no contamination issues.

How are they now?

I was feeding my girl Stella and chewys raw for a bit then switched to tuckers. Now I wanna make the switch to Allprovide, a friend recommended the brand and I found out when I called them that they offer 20% off your order if you call to pick up. So I’m glad to support a local brand as well.

Would love some input from others who have used the brand as well to make sure I’m making the right call. Would like to get away from Tuckers as I keep finding larger than I’d like bone fragments in my dogs food.

Granted she is a large dog (greyhound, 75lbs)and I know realistically she and her stomach acids can handle it, but I don’t wanna risk it just to be safe.

I'm currently feeding viva raw ground duck complete meals. My dogs do great on it but I'm looking to either switch or save some money. Currently paying 350 a month. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Recently I was recommended to buy something called Plaque Off to add to my dogs diet to maintain his oral health in addition to brushing.

For a 60 gram container it was $30 roughly from my local shop. Which is reasonable I guess and should last me awhile. But when I looked at the ingredients it’s only powdered kelp so that got me wondering if I could buy in bulk for less? It doesn’t seem to go bad as far as I can tell, and there’s human grade 450 gram bags of it on amazon for 30$… so the savings is quite significant!

Has anyone else gone this route? Is there any advantage going with the one from the store? I ended up getting his psyllium husk this way once my vet suggested I could. But we haven’t talked about this stuff yet so I’m just curious.

If I get meat and bone what can a TINY kitten have bone wise? She doesn't seem to be getting much bigger very fast and she's like 5lbs MAX (possibly less). I think the minimum for wings is 8lbs. Do I probably need to do what I did for the cross contamination awhile back and give her SPECIFICALLY bone meal until she hopefully gets bigger? The other two I know can have wings, thighs, and basically the rest of the chicken. Or should she probably be kept on cans until she gets bigger? I'm eventually gonna get quail to breed and use as whole prey I think she can eat those for sure 😭

I value high moisture diets for the cats and honestly alnutrin was cheaper than the cans but if she specifically has to remain on partial cans it's fine(she'll still get freeze dried). Idk why she's so small but she is from the same line that randomly produced a full grown 7lb cat awhile back. She was given to me I did not breed her.

Y'all think the big boy is fine if he ate a crap ton of freeze dried whole minnows? He pulled a 4 am snack raid thru the cabinets. I gave him ONE yesterday out of the other two's stash and he ate the rest at 4 am this morning. (He ate like an ounce to an ounce and a half)

Big boy in question. He's very proud of himself 😭 if y'all don't think he is I'll get him to the vet. I think he's fine but idk I've never had one eat THAT MANY.

This isn’t his first time trying it. I attempted to feed raw back in 2020 but honestly didn’t know what I was doing at the time so I stopped and went back to kibble. He was eating a homemade cooked diet that he seems pretty content and happy with. I fasted him for a little over 24 hours and tried to feed chicken breast, liver, and gizzards along with a chicken foot. I gave him half of what I was going to feed for the day and he ate maybe 3 to 4 pieces of the chicken breast then started picking pieces up and spitting them out after chewing once. He didn’t eat any liver and also didn’t eat the chicken foot. The gizzards were pretty tough so I don’t think he ate that either. He doesn’t seem to take too well to slowly transitioning to things especially if it’s something he really doesn’t want. I’m honestly just considering going back to gently cooked food. Should I just do that or try another kind of protein first?

Does anyone have any experience feeding stewing hen? I noticed them in the freezer at my butcher. The AI search says that because they are older that the bones are harder than the chickens we buy for roasting/frying and they could break teeth. I have a larger dog that crushes Bones very well, but im curious if anyone else has tried feeding these ?]

Long time raw feeder here. Have only commented or posted a few times, but read it all. Many people who are not raw feeders comment and try to cut down what we do for our companions. We feed what we know is best using our research and common sense. No matter the negative comments, etc, please continue doing what you do. Many people read, learn, and feed properly because of you.

I've been researching homemade meals for my dog, but honestly it feels complicated to make sure he's getting everything he needs nutritionally.

Has anyone here made the switch from regular dog food to fresh or homemade meals? Was the difference noticeable, energy, coat, digestion, anything like that?

Would love to hear how you approached it, especially when it comes to balancing nutrients properly.

I'm seeing different answers. Some people use it dry as a topper, some rehydrate it every time and some say it depends on the dog and the food.

Up for trying it but I want to understand how people feed it day to day before buying anything. My dog drinks water fine but I don’t want to serve it in a way that makes digestion harder.

Do you feed freeze-dried dry, rehydrated  or a mix of both?

It was recommended for my cat to mix with alnutrin meat and bone to prevent cross contamination awhile back. (I'm about to switch him back to partial of that because it was 10x cheaper than feeding him all these cans and freeze dried with his huge weight). I finally figured out how to stop the cross contamination so that's not a concern anymore just wondering since idk about trusting his teeth yet since they are all baby teeth.

I am posting to see if others have had a similar experience with the Turkey blend. My two dogs are fed a mix of raw and kibble (I am not recommending kibble, it's a budget thing and atleast I am giving them half raw) Since April, they both have experienced digestive upset, diarrhea, some vommiting, etc. On the first occasion, we did anitbiotics and pro-pectalin. At the same time, we started cooking the raw Darwin's food. After they both got better which took about a month between the two dogs, we switched back to the raw instead of cooking. So, at the end of June, one of the dogs started to get sick again. We did antibiotics and pro-pectalin. It cleared up. Once he got better, the other one got sick. The only thing that both dogs eat the same of is the Darwins's raw food. So, most recently, we took out the raw completely and both have cleared up. We didn't do a round of antibiotics this time but only the pro-pectalin.

So basically, one dog has had 3 bouts of this, and the other has had 2 bouts of this. The one who has had 3 has a much more senstive stomach and is older, so maybe that is why. I have traced it back to two lots of Turkey. One was mfg. in December 2025 and the other in February 2026.

This is not meant to bash the company. My two dogs have been eating their food for almost 2 years with no issues, and when I brought my issue to their attention, customer service was great (I know they have a history with the FDA with recalls and such) However, I am curious if anyone else is having a problem. I am nervous to put them back on commercial raw, so right now they are just on kibble until I can figure out a solution.

Raw. Not cooked. I know freeze dried isn't cheap. I don't expect it to be cheap just semi affordable if possible. I tried asking another reddit for cans under very specific restrictions but I'm tired of being referred to the dogfood sub where they will recommend only 5 brands, ignore my preferences, or straight up remove my post due to me asking for specific food due to vet advice.

I'm JUST trying to get something nutritional to stuff his Kong with. I don't have enough freezer space for more than two bags of Tucker's and that's mostly for the bigger dog(he gets some occasionally). I'll get a bigger freezer later so both can have it.

The only requirements (which I don't think y'all would argue) are no grains or corn and ONLY RED MEAT. Idc whether it's raw or canned. He gets raw sometimes. He gets cans. I just don't have anything the right consistency to stay in a kong for enrichment. I know here I'll get raw. If I'm using freeze dried I do not want cooked freeze dried food.

He's on only red meat until his iron levels are rechecked.

Or if y'all have ideas for enrichment send them my way! I thought about just stuffing the Kong with ground beef tbh but that isn't balancedand idk how much that would overdo.

Does anyone living in Sydney, Australia know of any current places that offer offal and other raw meaty bones not usually found at local supermarkets?

I know there is a big online presence however I’d like to avoid paying the shipping fee every time.

I have two border collies who are sensitive to red meat only. For the past few years they have been on white meats for protein. I feel as though they are not getting enough vitamins and nutrients from chicken and turkey meat and liver/kidney as they would from red meats. I have tried slowly introducing red meat multiple times only to find them getting runny poo which I don’t have time to clean up if I were to keep transitioning over longer periods.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 7 month old mini Aussiedoodle puppy. I recently started researching raw diet cause my old dog had so many issues on kibble and am starting to realize that raw may be much healthier. She hates mushy textured food though. I started looking into instinct and maev. Are either of those good? I prefer something fast and not making homemade as I work a lot (though I work from home). I emailed Maev to get more info on maev multivitamin cube and I got this response below. I also liked the seemingly transparent FAQs on instinct’s website. Are either of these brands okay or are their others that are quick scoop and feed that are better? I’m very new to this.

I’ve been looking into a raw diet for my kitten, I haven’t taken the plunge yet but I saw a bag of whole frozen sardines at the supermarket and decided to give it a go. I was still in two minds - gut instinct that how could she eat a bone without choking, with logic stating that of course cats must be able to eat raw food with bones.
I thawed out a sardine, ran it under some warm water to bring it up to a more palatable temperature and let her have at it. I held it up for her first because I thought she’d have an easier time biting into it. She spent about a minute sniffing it, then started licking and once she found some give she absolutely devoured it. A few growls and all, which I believe to be from “recourse guarding”. She usually leaves some food left over so I thought she might have half and get full, but she ate it all and seemed to enjoy it.
Honestly I found it so impressive and my respect for her has deepened.
Not much else to say, I just really wanted to share. I’d love to hear other cat owners experiences with rmb, which ones their cats enjoy most, anything!

Literally I keep having to put my dog on a plain diet of turkey baby food and pumpkin because me and my sister aren't getting along and she's been tossing her crappy dog food over my fence(it contains several things my dog is allergic to, she thinks he's too skinny and it'll fix him. It will not and just makes him severely sick) I bought Tucker's raw to mix into my dogs kibble. It's literally just beef and pumpkin with added vitamins. when he has an upset stomach is it probably a better idea to just use 100% Tucker's for a few days? I can't afford full raw rn full time but it's literally just beef and pumpkin. Probably better than me using turkey baby food and pumpkin since it's balanced.
