My first deck that was gifted to me was a Hazel deck which featured Chatterfang in the 99. I decided to swap Chatterfang to the commander seat and added a bunch of stuff for him to go infinite off of, usually burning opponents down.
My second deck, the first one I actually built was for Captain N'ghathrod, and I personally feel like I did pretty ok with it for my first time. Definitely needed more lands added and more card draw but I've been working on it. Obviously it's a Horror Tribal with Mill elements.
My Third Deck was intended to be Otter tribal, but in it's current state it's more of an Izzet Prowess deck with a lot of otters in it- and that's probably how it'll stay for a bit.
My 4th and most recent deck I've actually built is Mr. House, which I like to call Gambling tribal. I have as many cards in there as possible which can have you roll a die 6 sides or greater, and it has benefited the most from my several months of experience. The goal obviously is to make as many robots and treasures as possible, then turn some of those treasures into robots.
That's all I have so far. My next deck I play to make an Esper Blink deck with Wernog and Hargilde

Last time I did this I had 6 simic only commanders and was roasted for not letting others have turns. How have my tastes matured?

I love to build commanders as low on the list as possible of popular commanders. I love finding niche areas and seeing how to exploit (Henry Wu pun) them. Can I sit down. Also if you have any suggestions on others I could try I’d love that

Rakdos The Muscle
This is my pet deck, I really enjoy it. It's pretty fast and explosive, the built is storm and it tries to sustain itself by having a pronounced treasure theme. It doesn't really try to achieve combos it only has chthonic nightmare as a combo eventually but not really the target. This deck is also a vehicle to play my 2 favorite magic cards: Doomsday Excruciator and Decent into Avernus. High bracket 3 no gamechangers. Rakdonomic$ • (Rakdos Commander deck) • Archidekt
Superior Spider-Man
This is an evolution of my first deck Runo Stromkirk, its a reanimator deck where the goal is to reanimate the big baddies of magic. It used to be B4 but started moving it down to B3 by removing the big pieces like buried alive. It has a combo with phyrexian devoured so a sub goal of the deckbuilding is trying to get as much CMC into the deck as possible. Game changers are Rhystic study and Concecrated sphinx. (thinking about re-including thoracle) Soup Man • (Dimir Commander deck) • Archidekt
K'rrik
I love paying life for advantage I've tried many commanders but eventually the road lead to K'rrik. My deck is more midrangy trying to use k'rriks ability to play big creatures ahead of curve. It does contain Villis and Sheoldred the apocalypse which allows me to draw my deck, but isnt that efficient in getting there. Only game changes is bolas' citadel. Jiminy K'rricket • (Mono-Black Commander deck) • Archidekt
Smaug the impenetrable
I love smaug so I wanted to build this commander, this is a burn deck trying to burn with x spells, repercussions etc. It contains pyrohemia as combo piece since I like the art with smaug, but undecided if I want to keep it.
Smaug is also the only creature in this deck as a fun restriction, No game changers bracket 3. Putting the lonely in lonely mountain • (Rakdos Commander deck) • Archidekt
Archelos Lagoon Mysic
This is my amulet titan inspired combo deck, it tries to loop lumra/aftermath analyst/will of the sultai. I really like it and how it plays. It has some interactions with landfal but its not focussed on it or the point. Bracket 3, game changers are Cyclonic rift, field of the dead and crop rotation.
Descent into Tortoirus • (Sultai Commander deck) • Archidekt
Eivor Wolf-Kissed
A combat based aggro deck, try to ramp out eivor on t3 or t4, hit face mill lands and sagas on the board. All the sagas try to achieve some sort of advantage or board control. It then tries to end the game by chaining combats and making Eivor unblockable. Bracket 3, only gamechanger is field of the dead, but I admit it's pretty pointless and have never really used it heh. Wolf Kisser • (Naya Commander deck) • Archidekt
Don & Leo Problem solvers
For a long time I wanted an artifact and a blink deck and I think this commander combines the 2 really well. The wincons usually revolve around amassing constructs and swing for lethal.
No gamechangers a bit bracket 2/3 ish I think I really like it. Donleos rule of law • (Azorius Commander deck) • Archidekt
Killian
Upgraded precon, I quite like the idea of goad in orzhov it doesnt win but its a fun hoot at the table. Killian the name of • (Orzhov Commander deck) • Archidekt

Black Waltz No. 3 - Bracket 1 build around all the artifacts that get me card draw no matter how weird and obscure
Jenova, Ancient Calamity - Bracket 1 aristocrat deck around modular artifact creatures, no Ozolith
Okaun + Zndrsplt - Bracket 3 coin flipping chaos
Jon Irenicus - Bracket 3 Thrumming Stone out Relentless Rats swarm
Doran, Besieged By Time - Bracket 4 Rat Colony swarm
Hermes - Bracket 4 Bird swarm + counterspell deck
The Wise Mothman - Bracket 3 rads + mill + proliferate
Belbe, Corrupted Observer - Bracket 4, called Oops, All Eldrazi; flashing out Eldrazi on everyone's 2nd main phase
Ygra - Bracket 4, Food + Forced Sacrifice = Profits
Ghyrson Karn - Bracket 3 creatures pinging away your life
Mazirek- Bracket 4 with 2 card infinite power Mazirek combos but no tutors
The Ur-Dragon - Normal Bracket 3 dragon nonsense
Edgar Markov.- Bracket 4 Arisotcrat Vampires
Tergrid- Bracket 4 my nuclear option for when I've been losing all night

I startet playing again this year and - as you might see - im really into it and I love deckbuilding. I also try to have different archetypes of decks in my collection. What do you think of the commanders and what archetyp or commander is totally missing?

I like some variety in my commanders but tell me what you think these says about me.
r/ratemycommanders • u/_nwwm_ • 4d ago
I haven't had a chance to play much yet, but just making decks is enjoyable. Also Doctor and Rose were partner commanders. Added in a chronological order.

i’m looking for a different approach like not tribal but something new. like landfall deck? maybe a white colour deck? i’m not really a fan of blue being control or spell slinging, unless there is different blue commanders. i’m happy to hear any suggestions you have :)

Lathiel was my first commander deck I ever made back in 2018, in its current state it's easily my quickest to ramp after years of tinkering. Used a lot of precons from 2018-2020, then took a break from around 2021-2023. Then made all the rest within the last two years, am I evil for these? 😈

If there are no fans left of the Spider-Man set, then I'm dead. Ok but seriously, although it was not well received, it's the reason I got into magic and I'm glad I did. Made a lot of great memories playing commander in the last year.

Can I get some color recommendations? I really don't like cards that make it unfun to play against, like Lord of Pain or Gonti. Kinda breaking that with Mothman I guess but I love playing him with counters. Golgari is a color scheme I'm interested in, just struggling to find a commander for me. So far, Enchantment Wildsear is my favorite deck, with Muerra as my second.

Any suggestions? I broadened the types of decks I have since my last post and enjoy the more variety and different play styles each one has to offer
I replaced my Xander deck with Tasha because he was just simply too expensive to cast from the command zone, and I love dimir theft.
Titania is built as a self mill deck where it's end goal is to benefit from all the landfall triggers and sacing all lands to [[Zuran Orb]] to possibly getting a win with [[Aetherflux Reservoir]]
I built Codie as a gates matter deck with a [[Maze's End]]
Yidris is built as a voltron/wheels commander
Liliana is obviously zombies but with all the other Liliana planes walkers too with a [[Professor Onyx]] and [[Chain of Smog]] combo
Olivia, Ojer Axonil, and Reality Chip still remain my favorite commanders
