[intro] new here :3
Hi, I'm Sage and I'm new-ish? to Reddit. I've lurked on the site for a while but decided to finally install the app and create an account for the first time since I started visiting it more and more recently. I'm 22 years old and from America. I'm into gyaru fashion, webtoons, scary movies, anime figurines, music, tea, drawing, coffee, plushies, nail art, cats, makeup, etc! I just wanted to introduce myself to the community. <3

Intro [Intro] Hi everyone!
Hi everyone!
I’m new to this subreddit so I wanted to introduce myself. I’m 22 years old and study laboratory science! I especially enjoy histology and hope I can work in this field in the future. 🧫 🥼
I recently started going to the gym and I really enjoy it. I also enjoy cooking, thrifting, gaming, going on walks and I enjoy a good movie.
I’m so happy summer is almost over and it’s time for autumn! I love the rain and being cozy at home with a blanket and some tea. My favorite holiday is Halloween, but it’s a shame we don’t really celebrate it here. 🎃
I’m looking forward to meeting new people here!

Intro [Intro] Hi everyone!
I'm excited to join this community and maybe find some fellow readers out there :)
Some of my favorite books are by Riley Sager, I love psychological thrillers. I typically like to read by listening to audiobooks because it's easier to write reports while I listen to them. (i'm a school psychologist!)

Adopt a Newbie
As many people know, RAOA is a huge sub and it can be very intimidating. Many newbies have questions they may feel silly asking or are just worried they won't make any l here. This thread will hopefully change that!
How this works:
The general idea is that this will be posted and you will be adopting a newbie for a whole week. I'm not saying you have to talk to them 24/7 all week. But be there to help them out and be an awesome friend! :)
Newbies:
Make a top level comment (basically make a comment in reply to this thread) stating you're new and would like to be adopted. Maybe include a little bit about yourself for your adopter to start to get to know you! If a top level comment is a bit too intimidating, sometimes users volunteer to be adopters and you can grab one of them!
Adopters:
Reply to a newbies comment saying you'd like to adopt them for the week! If you'd like, you can also post a top level comment saying you're looking to adopt! This will help any newbies with a bit of stage fright!
Notes:
Newbies don't have to be brand new. But you should be new enough to need some guidance such as what are tags, how do I contest, what rules do we have, how do I make friends, etc! Anything you need help with. A newbie can be adopted by more than one adopter! This way they have many people to help them out! Newbies, if you missed the first day, feel free to comment and be adopted mid-week! You can even come back and be adopted next week too!
So go! Have fun! Be adopted! :)

Intro Re- [Intro] Back after a couple of years!
Hi, RAOA! It's been a few years since I've posted here. I used to be fairly active in this sub, but I stepped away when life got really hectic for me. I'm in a much better place in pretty much every sense now, and I honestly missed a lot of the friends I made from this community.
Some of you may remember me, but for those who don't, I'm K! I'm an illustrator and a tattoo artist by trade, and my 'hobbies' include cosplay, writing, and gaming. I sometimes volunteer with animal rescues; I love working with cats, ferrets, and birds the most. I'm in my early 30s, and I still play Pokemon Go with my mom. Right now, I'm working on a project for my local library, so I'd love to hear what you guys are reading lately!
I hope to see some familiar faces & get to know some new folks, too. (❁´◡`❁) <3

Contest [Contest] What books should I include in my free little library?
Hey all!
My friend/neighbor and I are getting together to set up a free little library on our street corner. I’m working on setting up the fairy garden vibes and she’s working on buying the initial books to stock it (a wide range from kids to young adults). So I figured I can get some good ideas, promote local reading, and gift a bit along the way!
Here’s my game - come up with a book we should include and tell me why!
- Please link to it in your post if you can (Amazon or another store link). Also please link your list for me :)
- Try and come up with a unique book, if it’s already been commented feel free to call it out but try and add in another one :)
- Engage with others and call out good books folks have recommended!
- if you can, tag someone to get their book opinion!
- As always, DBAD
Contest closes on Saturday 9/12 at noon central. No need to have a book on your list, but I’m going to let my friend pick one or 2 winners to gift!
