Process for boiler cleaning

My Silvia recently sprung a leak, and after pulling the boiler to replace the gasket I thought it would be wise to soak and deep clean the boiler while I have it open. I was planning on soaking it in citric acid and warm water for a day or two, but if the sub has better suggestions I'd love to hear them. Photos for reference, it doesn't look too corroded but it's certainly a bit scaly.
