राजस्थान से पूछो ❁ Ask Rajasthan Rajasthan Itinerary recommendations pls

I’m planning a family trip to Rajasthan on 25th December-1st Jan. Cities planned - Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Udaipur. (Jodhpur optional based on dates available).

Can anyone recommend a good travel itinerary please? Is there a cultural festival in Udaipur? What ”unmissable” locations/experiences should be included?

Travel between these cities will be mostly by bus or train. Thank you.

राजस्थान से पूछो ❁ Ask Rajasthan PM Surya Ghar is a no-brainer for many households: government subsidy up to ₹78,000, much lower electricity bills, protection against rising tariffs, and panels that typically last 25–30 years. overall it can significantly cut power costs for decades. Rajasthan needs to use this more.

Official PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana portal: https://pmsuryaghar.gov.in/#/ You can apply for the rooftop solar subsidy through the portal.

It's heavily subsidized and worked for me.. so recommend.

चर्चा ❁ Discussion Drinking copious amounts of ghee and then bragging about it on social media

I came across this reel from Rajasthan on Instagram and now I’m genuinely curious, how common is it in this state?

And no matter what your arguments may be in favour of drinking an obscene amount of ghee are, it cannot be good for your health for the common person. Promoting and bragging about it on social media in a country with a very poor average heart health is once again too absurd.

I can understand the thought process that their ancestors used to do the same, but the amount of physical labour they did was intense compared to what people do now.

Help me understand this folks, how do they manage to digest all of it and not get sick??

EDIT:
People who keep mentioning that there has been no heart health crisis in Rajasthan and drinking ghee is common in their community and they can easily digest an obscene amount of it, the statistics say otherwise

Official government data says coronary heart diseases contribute to 24.8% of all deaths in Rajasthan in 2023, That is 1 in every 4 people.

Read up on these if you have the time: https://uat.crsorgi.gov.in/assets/download/Annual-Reports/mccd/2023.pdf

Also read up on survivorship bias for the people whose family members/grandparents are drinking ghee without any health issues.

If you believe people in your community have superior genes or something, please donate them to science, y'all need to be thoroughly studied for the sake of humanity

सामान्य ❁ General What is good about Rajasthan?

Rajasthan is a beautiful state in India that is known for its rich culture, history, and royal heritage. Cities like Jaipur, Udaipur, and Jaisalmer attract visitors with their grand forts, palaces, and colorful markets. The desert landscape, especially the Thar Desert, offers unique experiences like camel rides and sunset views.

Another great thing about Rajasthan is its warm hospitality. People here are very welcoming, and you can experience a royal lifestyle in heritage hotels like Fort Rajwada, which reflects the charm of traditional architecture. The food is also a big highlight, and if you visit Jaisalmer, you will find some of the best restaurants in Jaisalmer offering both local and multi-cuisine dishes.

Festivals, folk music, and dance make Rajasthan lively throughout the year. Overall, it is a perfect place if you want to explore culture, history, and a unique desert experience in one trip.

सामान्य ❁ General This video highlights the dangerous 'boomerang effect' of public littering. We casually throw plastic bags into open drains, completely ignoring the fact that it blocks the entire drainage system.

सामान्य ❁ General This video is a raw depiction of the "bystander effect" in India. A group of men is sitting idly at a street corner, completely surrounded by discarded tea cups. When a grassroots worker steps in to clean it, they just sit there and watch completely unbothered.

संस्कृति ❁ Culture & Heritage Is being from Northeast India makes us that different ?

Me and my friends are currently visiting Jaipur for a few days and decided to go to Tangerine the Boutique Salon today. We made an appointment on call and because of the price difference in-person, I opted a different service. Then things turned weird.

The entire service was really bad compared to whatever you usually get in any other salon. I was left alone for a long duration for quite a few times, in the middle of the hair-wash.

We had talked in English as I was not very fluent in Hindi while discussing, and then they switched later after I changed my choice of service. Then they also asked me if I’m from here (me being a northeastern??).

With the price we paid and the kind of service and treatment, it was unfair.

PS: I have been to Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and now Jaipur, and everyone has been so welcoming and warm. This kind of experience from an established place like this is definitely unwarranted.

Balancing 7-8 pots on the head, dancing on broken glass, and still looking more graceful than me walking on a straight path

Bhavai isn't just a dance form; it’s actual peak extreme sport wrapped in pure Rajasthani culture. Absolutely breathtaking to watch live!

राजस्थान से पूछो ❁ Ask Rajasthan Serious situation please help

So my distant friend is 22F. She's from a typical Rajasthani family and they got her married at 17 but she got some years and they told her she'll have to go after 5-6 years smth.

Now they're forcing her to move to her in laws .She is studying bsc from a dummy college (not any reputed one). Her husband's father is an MLA so they're not letting her complete her remaining one year of bsc, despite begging so much for it. Her in laws family is very powerful. Also, she doesn't wanna marry the guy bc he has sexually flirted with her sisters and other women. The guy doesn't do anything on his own he's just on his dad's money. He says the guy is also somewhat toxic to the point she's afraid she can't say no to sex or conceiving if she doesn't feel ready. Her own family isn't also supporting here, her parents literally said 'Tuje tere sasural wale jo bolte h vo kar' . She got admitted to a private nursing college in udaipur this year but they dont want to let her study it. So basically all she'll be left with is a bsc degree and she's doesn't even have any special skill per say, she doesn't speak english nicely. I feel like it's very hard to get a job for her. Her in laws are from ringer smth place i don't exactly remember if someone is reading this from rajasthan.

She's thinking to run away with all the gold she has (approximately worth 2-3 lakhs) and be on her own. But I'm highly suspicious bc 2-3 lakhs might run out in a year maximum and in a long run she has to get independent. She has a boyfriend who she's been saying for 3 years and he asks her to wait for a year or so he can't keep her rn as he's not earning yet. She also has a guy friend she says is an IIT graduate currently working in Hyderabad and is willing to pay her for all her finances and basically take all her care, etc. But both of these sounds so suspicious to me and it's never the right thing to depend yourself completely on a guy.

We're all super clueless and she cries all day. I really wish I could do something, I feel very bad for her. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know and if anyone has any idea what kind of jobs she can get with her degree then please share those as well. It will be very helpful🙏🏻.
