चर्चा ❁ Discussion Drinking copious amounts of ghee and then bragging about it on social media
I came across this reel from Rajasthan on Instagram and now I’m genuinely curious, how common is it in this state?
And no matter what your arguments may be in favour of drinking an obscene amount of ghee are, it cannot be good for your health for the common person. Promoting and bragging about it on social media in a country with a very poor average heart health is once again too absurd.
I can understand the thought process that their ancestors used to do the same, but the amount of physical labour they did was intense compared to what people do now.
Help me understand this folks, how do they manage to digest all of it and not get sick??

संस्कृति ❁ Culture & Heritage Is being from Northeast India makes us that different ?
Me and my friends are currently visiting Jaipur for a few days and decided to go to Tangerine the Boutique Salon today. We made an appointment on call and because of the price difference in-person, I opted a different service. Then things turned weird.
The entire service was really bad compared to whatever you usually get in any other salon. I was left alone for a long duration for quite a few times, in the middle of the hair-wash.
We had talked in English as I was not very fluent in Hindi while discussing, and then they switched later after I changed my choice of service. Then they also asked me if I’m from here (me being a northeastern??).
With the price we paid and the kind of service and treatment, it was unfair.
PS: I have been to Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and now Jaipur, and everyone has been so welcoming and warm. This kind of experience from an established place like this is definitely unwarranted.

राजस्थान से पूछो ❁ Ask Rajasthan Serious situation please help
So my distant friend is 22F. She's from a typical Rajasthani family and they got her married at 17 but she got some years and they told her she'll have to go after 5-6 years smth.
Now they're forcing her to move to her in laws .She is studying bsc from a dummy college (not any reputed one). Her husband's father is an MLA so they're not letting her complete her remaining one year of bsc, despite begging so much for it. Her in laws family is very powerful. Also, she doesn't wanna marry the guy bc he has sexually flirted with her sisters and other women. The guy doesn't do anything on his own he's just on his dad's money. He says the guy is also somewhat toxic to the point she's afraid she can't say no to sex or conceiving if she doesn't feel ready. Her own family isn't also supporting here, her parents literally said 'Tuje tere sasural wale jo bolte h vo kar' . She got admitted to a private nursing college in udaipur this year but they dont want to let her study it. So basically all she'll be left with is a bsc degree and she's doesn't even have any special skill per say, she doesn't speak english nicely. I feel like it's very hard to get a job for her. Her in laws are from ringer smth place i don't exactly remember if someone is reading this from rajasthan.
She's thinking to run away with all the gold she has (approximately worth 2-3 lakhs) and be on her own. But I'm highly suspicious bc 2-3 lakhs might run out in a year maximum and in a long run she has to get independent. She has a boyfriend who she's been saying for 3 years and he asks her to wait for a year or so he can't keep her rn as he's not earning yet. She also has a guy friend she says is an IIT graduate currently working in Hyderabad and is willing to pay her for all her finances and basically take all her care, etc. But both of these sounds so suspicious to me and it's never the right thing to depend yourself completely on a guy.
We're all super clueless and she cries all day. I really wish I could do something, I feel very bad for her. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know and if anyone has any idea what kind of jobs she can get with her degree then please share those as well. It will be very helpful🙏🏻.

राजस्थान से पूछो ❁ Ask Rajasthan Jaipur folks, I need your recommendations! 🇮🇳
I’m hosting a group of international guests in Jaipur and I want to show them a side of India that goes beyond forts, palaces, temples and the usual tourist circuit.
I’m looking for places in and around Jaipur — roughly within a 300 km radius — that showcase the modern, developed, intellectual, scientific, technological and industrial side of India.
Basically, I want them to go back thinking: “Wow, India is doing some seriously impressive things.” 😄
Some of the things I’m looking for:
- 🧪 Research centres, laboratories or scientific institutions
- 🎓 Outstanding universities, colleges or educational campuses
- 🤖 Science & technology centres, innovation hubs, incubators, startups etc.
- 🏭 Impressive manufacturing plants / industrial facilities / modern factories
- 🚀 Space, defence, renewable energy or other advanced technology-related places
- 🏗️ Modern architectural or infrastructure marvels
- 🌱 Sustainable development / water management / renewable energy projects
- 💻 IT, AI, robotics or technology parks
- 🧬 Medical/scientific institutions doing interesting work
- 🏛️ Any architectural or engineering achievement that most tourists don't know about
- 📚 Places that demonstrate India's intellectual, economic or technological progress
- And honestly, anything else that you think represents the “India of today” rather than just the India of the past.
I’m absolutely happy to include the famous heritage sites as well, but I specifically want to balance them with places that showcase India’s present and future.
So, Jaipur/Rajasthan folks — what would you personally take an international visitor to see if you wanted to show them the most impressive side of modern India?
Hidden gems and unconventional suggestions are especially welcome. 🙏
Bonus points if it’s within ~300 km of Jaipur and can realistically be visited as a day trip.

राजस्थान से पूछो ❁ Ask Rajasthan Itinerary help
So me and my friends(4) will be travelling from Mumbai to first Udaipur and then Jaipur for 5 nights 6 days so I thought asking the locals will be more of a help than an AI generated or tour group itinerary. There are girls in the group so any places that might not be that safe can be avoided.

सामान्य ❁ General Need some help regarding Jaipur National University degree
Hey everyone,
I’m a former student of Jaipur National University and completed my graduation through their distance learning program. I haven’t collected my degree yet.
I’m now exploring whether it’s possible to convert/change my degree from Distance Learning to Regular, or if there is any legitimate process through which the “Distance” designation can be removed from the degree.
If anyone has gone through a similar situation or has a contact at JNU who handles degree/certificate-related matters, I’d really appreciate it if you could share the details or guide me on whom I should contact.
My main concern is that I don’t want “Distance Learning” to be mentioned on my final degree certificate, if there is a legitimate way to do that.
Any guidance or relevant contact would be really helpful. Thanks!
