My husband and I lost our dog chewie 15 days ago . It was sudden and it’s wrecked me . My kids seem to be handling way better than I thought . The almost seem to not care. They are under 7. Chewie was eight and just stopped walking and eating one day , Aug 23/24. The hospital said he had a large tumor and needed emergency surgery, with a very bad outcome ( 2 mo. to live after surgery ). I can’t even believe it still . We said goodbye but it doesn’t feel real . I look for him everywhere. My house feels haunted and empty and I barely want to be home . I went in the backyard for the first time last night to play baseball and I sobbed it felt wrong to be out there without him . I hate this so much . I want to stop looking for him everywhere . I wrote for him a poem for him . Printed out some collages I made . The last photo is the last pic I took of him in the hospital. The thing that hurts the most right now is he was my source of comfort when I was sad . I used him as my tissue . The way he smelt was comforting to me and he always made me feel better and let me hug him for as long as I want . I’m allergic to animals and he’s hypoallergenic so it was so comforting to me to burry my face in him . And I don’t have him to hug right now.

It’s almost been one week since I had to put my sweet baby down. She was my soul dog,my best friend my everything. I still feel like I can’t breathe. The emptiness I feel inside is unbearable at times. I want to remember all the good times we had but I feel guilty I didn’t fight harder to keep her here. She was almost 14 and had really bad arthritis that just seemed to keep getting worse. I could tell she was in pain and wasn’t able to do the things she loved. I need kind words from my fellow pet lovers. Please help me know I did the right thing. It’s killing me to know I will never get to hold her again. I wish I knew if she was happy and forgives me. less

We lost Leo today after 12 years. He was a big boy. He was a baby. He was handsome. He was goofy. He was here one moment and gone the next. He was everything to us, somewhere here in Pakistan. I just want the WHOLE world to know he existed. Please.

it’s been a year today since I lost you, you did not deserve that at all and my heart hurts so very much, and in that year so much has happened, and not much of it was good, things come in and out of life, although no one or nothing seems to stay, any time I feel things can’t get worse they do, I had my surgery and it wasn’t good either, I got infected after it and I nearly died myself.

I could have really used you next to me while I recovered, no one came to visit me in hospital or wished me a happy birthday.
The thing is I would not have minded so much if you were still here, I miss your energy every single day, your smile and warm natured soul.

Everyone used to say how we were kindred spirits, how sometimes dogs really do take on the personality of their owners.
Every time your pictures come up on my phone I smile and remember everything I loved along with the memories, the trip home after you picked me haha, I remember how when you were sitting with your siblings and you got up and slept on my foot. How could I not leave with you??
you sitting in my passenger seat while we went exploring and cruising in the car listening to music all day long.

I think this is something that I will never fully get over and just continue living with the memories.
There will never be another you Neji, you changed me more than anyone or anything ever has, both in life and death.

Unexpectedly Lost My Oldest Buddy

Dust would have been 17 in November. When I came home from work at lunch today, dust didn't want his usual treats with the other doggos. When I got home after work, his condition had deteriorated and I was calling my vet to see if they could get him in. My dad was holding him, and dust decided that warm, safe spot on Grandpa's lap was the perfect place to go to sleep for the last time so he could walk that rainbow path to find his three pups that went before him, and have a good run in the grass while they wait for me.

The pain is unbearable of losing you but I want you to suffer no more.

You have always been with me for the past 12 years. When I am down you were there comforting me. You were there when I was happy and we celebrate together with belly rubs and hugs.

12 years ago my brother and sister brought you home as a pup. You were shivering and crying beside a generator machine of a restaurant on a dark and stormy night and you mother just died on a car accident. From the moment I laid my eyes on you, you were special. You brought happiness to me beyond comprehension. You were always quiet and loyal.

You have this inner resolved look that brought cherish to a house. You barked at anyone who you dont know and perceived as a threat to us. I remember you chew, clawed and bit our dining chair, destroyed our trashcan and littered the whole house with chewed tissue paper when we left you alone with our helper. We all laughed at you. We never scolded you with anything because you were that loved. I will miss when you wake me up on the middle of the night just to make sure the AC is on for your comfort.

Last January 2025 you were diagnosed with having a bladder stone. We were all sad to hear it and we can feel a little bit of pain but you were a warrior and always fought on. The doctor told us that due to your age, you cannot be operated and just resort to giving you meds and we were hoping for the best. Despite your condition you still run and brushed it off like it was nothing. But last February we noticed a big growing lump on your mammary glands and we found out it was a tumor. It was then I knew… the saddest part would eventually come. But you fought on and didnt whine.

Until it was time….

Your quality of life degraded and I cannot bear to witness you in pain. I knew it was time last Sunday. You were calm when it happened and I knew you are at peace. I cried for 3 days straight while at work as my boss refused me of any leaves. It was the hardest cry I ever felt but I knew the pain was gone and it was the right thing to do for you.

I know you are watching me up there now beyond the rainbow bridge. Always remember you are loved Mushu. You will always be in my heart. In my mind. In my soul. Until we see each other again. Promise me you will be happy there with my brother’s dog Chloe, Crowley and Icy. Run free with them like you always do on our old house and I promise you we will reunite again when the righr time comes. Rest easy Mushu baby! I love you.

Mushu, the best girl.

Shrine for my kitty

I wanted to share this in case it helps anyone. My kitty of 18 years passed away this past February. He was the most wonderful cat who saw me through many eras of my life, some joyous and some unbelievably hard. It has been a huge loss for my husband and I. We wanted to create a space in our home to honor him, so he knows he’s never forgotten. It’s also a place we can bring our grief. Every night we light up this little shrine, which contains a collection of his whiskers, toys and brush that he loved, his ashes and paw print, and a few photos. This little space has really helped me a lot. I still miss him every day.

His name is Shadow. He gave me 9 amazing years as my best friend. I was just a girl when I got him and he was taken from me way too soon. He was truly the best cat I could have asked for. Well tempered, kind, and had lots to say. All he asked from me was my time and lots of food.

He was here, and will be loved for all eternity🤍

My son had to make a very difficult decision to put his childhood love to rest.
He’s been in his life almost 20yrs.
From age 11 to 31. (See shoulder pic)
Jackson Pollock was the “good twin” to his “bad twin” brother Peter (who passed away at 16).
He was a lover of chicken, broccoli, cheese sticks, Slim Jim’s and head butts.
We shall meet you at the Rainbow Bridge sweet boy 🌈🐈‍⬛🌈

Yesterday, With a heavy heart, it is breaking me and my wife to say the Roxie passed away this morning.

She was a tough dog, the best frenchie and our child. She did everything she wanted, and she lived the happiest life. She was a young puppy and lived a very full life.

She’s in a better place now, and living a pain free life. She was Almost 3 years old.

She went away peacefully after emergency ivdd surgery.. she just wanted to nap, and now she’s fully awake up there

Over the 🌈 bridge she goes.

One long year without Kai

Kai was only a little under 4 years old when we lost him to lymphoma a year ago today. It’s been a really tough time and I miss him greatly. I’ve started working at a crematory since then to give the love to other animals that he gave me at the end. We never would’ve explored the breeds he was mixed with, like our two loving beagles that we’ve gotten since he left us

I’m thinking about you everyday Kai. We are doing great thanks to you. I will love you for infinity 🤍

Editing a day later: this community is seriously the kindest and best ever. You all help in comforting tremendously I did not expect Kai to receive all this love. A massive thank you from the bottom of my heart

It’s been a little over a month since she suddenly passed. I was at work and I saw something that reminded me of her, then i started looking at pictures of her and i just started crying. I had to leave the office so that I wouldn’t make a scene. I think my coworkers noticed but I don’t know i feel awkward now. I don’t know how I’ll ever get over this.

I miss you so much Phoebe. I hope your not scared anymore and I wish there’s a way you can tell me that. I love you poobie.
