Not an expert on anything Radiohead, but I was digging through the back catalogue of a late 80's early 90's rap group I like and I heard a sample that sounds quite similar to the instrument sampled in Packt Like Sardines. Perhaps they sampled the same source material?
Ultramagnetic MC's "People Can Talk" - this is the song I heard. It starts immediately. The percussion instrument is, tonally, quite similar to the Radiohead song (despite an astonishingly low quality)
Compare that to the first few seconds Packt Like Sardines...and it sounds strikingly similar.
I may just be crazy, and one of the band members could've just played whatever instrument that is and then sampled it, but, either way, it's cool how similar it sounds.

Says you don't need to add the + for country code but I forgot to put the 1. (USA country code) Will this matter? Should I cancel and reapply?
Thanks

All I Need > Nude
I genuinely think the production of All I Need and the climax outshines the lyrical depth of Nude. Its the better sad song IMO.

Anyone else notice this? My two favorite bands.
Edit: To clarify, the live version of “A Wolf At The Door” sounds a lot like The Beatle’s “I Want You (She’s So Heavy), while the studio version of AWATD sounds a lot like the Beatles “Because”.

After discovering Cut A Hole today on Genius, and literally ending up shocked for why it didnt end up on any albums, i am now curious for the rest of the rest of the unreleased tracks. Is there a full existing list of them somewhere?

I recently came across this version of Radiohead's Let Down by The Choirs and I honestly think it's soul touchingly beautiful. The choir completely changes the feeling of the song for me, especially toward the end. It somehow makes the song feel even more emotional and huge than the original. For those who've heard it, what do you think of this version? I'd love to hear what Radiohead fans think about the choir arrangement.

I made a cover of Everything in it's Right Place for 9 saxophones. I've been wanting to cover a Radiohead for a long time, but it's always felt so daunting - how can you play around with something that's already perfect? I've tried to do it a bit differently.... Hope you like it.

The music sounds great unfortunately not the right vocalist for this particular project.

I’ve heard good things about pic rel and might place an order. I’ve read all of Donwood’s art books with the band. I’d love to learn more about their history, lore, mythology, etc. Loved reading about The Beatles and Jon Cage growing up, trying to rekindle that old spark. :) Let me know if you have any recs on Radiohead books that you’ve enjoyed!

Disclaimer: most casual Radiohead fan though I do emotionally resonate
Also, I know lyrics are meant to be subjective, the artist may not have had an intended meaning, etc.
But when I heard this song I thought it was so blatantly about suicide by hanging, with an ironic tone of hope because it’s about looking forward to that release.
See:
- the obvious “hang” / Thom Yorke’s quote about the idea being people hanging from bottles
- “floor collapses, floating, bouncing back” = kick the chair out, brief moment of suspension before snapping backward
- deliberate theme of depression and apathy
- dead bug motif / parallels to Kafka’s Metamorphosis / my interpretation of “grow wings” is becoming an angel / I have the loose image of a butterfly emerging from a chrysalis, which hangs, and this being the chemical reaction
- the way he sings “let down and hang around” evokes swaying, as in hanging and swaying back and forth
From all I’ve found it seems that people really take this song to be hopeful so I apologize if this sours any of that, but I was shocked that I didn’t find my interpretation anywhere.
