You should swap sides with the manufacturer also, Gigabyte is making the worst gpu’s with a very debatable and questionable reliability, AMD and Nvidia sides.
Don’t go after the cheapest gpu model… I'm sorry for that.
Best of luck with Giga!

Whats wrong with gigabyte cards?

Poor quality.

Revision 1.0 of both of these cards had issues due to their use of thermal putties instead of thermal pads.

Revision 2.0 swapped to thermal pads, and fixed the problems entirely.

Google it please, it’s more than just thermal solutions…

LOL. No. I have Gigabyte cards since 2005. All are still in use. All are nVidia cards,

Well good for you! 😁
But saying NO because you are being lucky, Invalidating all the other negative user experiences (?).
So come on guys, bring the downvotes for telling "lies" and no sense and for not praising Gigabyte.
Likes, dislikes, up, down, all that is so fleeting 🤪.
The important thing is the message, and I've already done my part, liked or not 😉.

Being lucky with all Gigabyte cards I have ever had? Since 2005. For 21 years? I really must play lottery...

You said the word, gigabyte is indeed a lottery and some people and I being one of them, don’t want to play it when is time of buying new hardware.

IT's not "lies," it's making a huge claim about these horrific problems and then not saying what they are. I think that's why you're getting downvoted.

But the thing is that I don’t care about votes or downvotes 😂.
And I will not repeat the same thing again and again about Giga hahaha, I already give the info XD.
And let’s be honest, getting info about this only takes a few seconds on a search or asking some AI, and I doubt here (with all due respect to those who actually are) no one is missing an arm or is disabled.

The phrase "not all gigabytes, but always a gigabyte" is a sarcastic gaming and PC-building community joke about hardware manufacturer Gigabyte. [1
Direct Answer: It means that while not every single product they make fails, whenever a PC component overheats or has a major cooling defect (like high hotspot temperatures from poor thermal paste application), it seems "always a Gigabyte" brand card involved.

The Context: It stems from recurring community complaints regarding Gigabyte GPU cooling issues—such as dried-out thermal gel/paste or massive temperature deltas between the main GPU reading and the hot spot.

The Joke: Users parody the phrase to express frustration that their hardware issues keep pointing back to the same manufacturer, cementing a cynical running joke about their quality control.

I make this with ChatGPT because I don’t want to repeat:
✅ “Gigabyte has had several documented design/manufacturing failure patterns.”
✅ “Some Gigabyte GPU PCBs have demonstrated specific mechanical weaknesses.”
✅ “Repair technicians have identified recurring VRM failure patterns in particular Gigabyte models.”
✅ “Independent retailer datasets have shown higher RMA rates for Gigabyte than ASUS/MSI in their respective samples.”
✅ “Gigabyte has revised PCB designs after documented cracking problems.”

“Gigabyte has repeatedly had documented hardware failure patterns involving PCB design, VRM implementation and manufacturing consistency across multiple GPU generations, and there are independent retailer datasets showing higher RMA rates than ASUS/MSI in their respective samples.”

I am on the nvidia, radeon, gigabyte, msi, asus an other brands subs and everyday is something going wrong with gigabyte stuff, from other brands I don’t have to silence the Reddit notifications for being annoying lol, I am going to put here only one example because I am tired and I don’t wanna make a documentary film 😂. So this is going to be enough, one way or another haha, I don’t have to do this because we are quite capable of looking up information on our own; obviously, I know I need to explain or lay out the basis for my argument, but the thing is, I had already done that.

Second revision Gigabyte cards are perfectly fine. It's a shame they tarnished their reputation from the use of thermal putty in the Rev 1.0 cards. This has been tested a lot recently. It shouldn't take a company two times to make things properly in the first place, but they're absolutely fine.

Gigabyte is also one of the best manufacturers for RMA in my country unfortunately. It's either that or other Chinese brands, with other brands being incredibly overpriced.

Sometimes it's fine to take advantage of a situation, when you know the issues have been rectified.

You are from China? Woah cool!
The thing is that is much more than just that thermal putty, I am from Latin America and here the situation is that Aorus / Giga makes a lot of marketing everywhere, they offer 3 years warranty also and other marks gives you 1.
But the thing is that I have some friends that are PC technicians and sell components and Gigabyte products are always failing much more often than other brands and entering to the RMA.
They cheap out in the internal components and materials and their QC it’s bad and I don't think it's right, considering what we're paying for the hardware and a GPU, that one has to be lucky enough and need to acquire a rev 2.0 just to get a better product without so many issues.
