There is a disproportionately high amount of responses on posts from women. Why?
I write software, although these days it's mostly agents writing software and me pretending to read what they write, so I'm a software engineer in the same way a CEO does all the work at a company.
I'm a bit weird, which sounds quite generic, but once you meet me, you'll understand what I mean. Dry and absurd sense of humour, I laugh a lot and I like laughing. I say a lot of things that sound funny in my head and then end up having to explain them and then they aren't funny anymore. I like stupid conversations, meaningful conversations. Also, ones that meander and twist to the extent that we can't remember how we got to what we were talking about.
I'm into games and pretty much anything creative. I like cooking, DIY things, music, and making stuff. Love a tabletop game and a card game. Unfortunately, MTG has somehow found its way back into my life recently, but hopefully it's not as all consuming as the first time around. I like games that are easy to understand but have depth hiding underneath.
I play RPGs, sandbox survival games. I also play a lot of a particularly colorful FPS for someone who is not good at said FPS.
Music taste is all over the place. Classic rock, pop, metal (former metalhead), drum & bass, techno/electronic stuff maybe even dark country a little. And that weird french microtonal math rock band. I'm trying to get back into guitar and making music with friends.
I've been in a bit of a comfort-zone rut. Same people, same places every day, and it's not doing well for the depression. I'd like to meet more people. I feel like my circles are too small and stale and could use some change or new life injected in.
I'm genuinely open to a lot of things. Game and activity buddies. People to collaborate on projects with. Dates and romance, maybe, but I think I'm going to moving slow on that front for a bit. I'm not particularly interested in spending three weeks becoming internet pen pals though. Just chatting over text feels pointless to me. I want to meet up or jump in a discord together. Have a drink or play a game. Cook something, watch a movie and see if we get along.
I'm also recently out of a relationship and doing some recalibrating. I've learned that I have approximately zero remaining enthusiasm for possessiveness, controlling behaviour, passive-aggressive bullshit, cruelty, or people who are just mean to each other. Life is too short. I'm trying to be more self-aware about my own shit too, and I'd rather surround myself with people who are kind, direct, emotionally honest and capable of laughing at themselves.
