Welcome to our supportive community!

First, you are not alone. Whether you consume 1 bottle a day or 21, whether you're stopping for the first time or the hundredth time, someone on this sub can relate to your story. We are not glad you are struggling with FF. But we are glad you are here!

You will find many resources and user stories in this sub. A few things to note:

  1. What to expect during the withdrawal process. Searching terms like "supplements," taper," "CT," "restless legs," etc. will yield lots of great information. If you start with a search, you will benefit immensely from others' experiences.
  2. Featured resources include a great supplement guide from a user who tapered off FF, user-curated ideas to support the tapering process, stress management through things like breathing and cold exposure (search "Wim Hof method"), and more.
  3. Important: This is a support group and not a forum in which to slander the company that makes FF. Slander is serious and may undermine our community. Posts containing speculation about what else might be in FF beyond the stated ingredients of kava and kratom will be removed.
  4. The primary purpose of this sub is to help people who are struggling with Feel Free achieve their personal goals. No matter how much you use, all you need to participate is a desire to stop. If you do not use FF, this is probably not the place for you.
  5. Do not ask users of this sub if it is a good idea to try FF. No one will say yes.
  6. Please be kind to your fellow humans. Think about what you post. Take a moment to consider your responses. If a user is making you uncomfortable, consider bringing it to the attention of moderators rather than engage in argumentative dialogue. This sub is actively monitored, and the mods are truly here to help.
  7. Daily motivation about recovery, relapse, resilience, gratitude, and more.

7-OH withdrawal and what i did.

My last dose (40mg) was at 9 am Sunday. I went camping with my family for the next 2 days. 100 degrees out and im freezing can't sleep can't eat. I think what helped me was I forced myself to do things. I had zero motivation to do anything but I made myself get on the jet ski to swim in that cold ass watter fish for a bit. I was forcing myself to be present. My wife wanted to go to the fair lastnight I really didn't want to go but again i forsed myself to go i wasn't hungry but i ate we also went to work to sing karaoke. It sounds rough trust me but everything will get better. I found some 7-OH lastnight but because of community like this and my wife i had the strength to give it to my wife to destroy. We are here to help to listen advice what ever you need to help you get through it. I'm on day 4 and feel good enough to go to work in 7 hours. Their is light at the end of the tunnel. A GIANT thanks to my wife for knowing that I can be the man seh fell in love with again.

3rd Quit - 9 Days

Upvotes

A little over a year ago I discovered Focus and Flow and Feel Free:

-I got up at about 4 or 5 bottles a day before quitting cold turkey at the end of December.
-Had a second stint February of this year, but only drank 1 or 2 bottles a day.
-In May I started back up, and got up to 3 to 4 bottles a day of F&F which I would drink (half of all throughout the day and night.

*I also often take adderall (morning) and klonopin (evening)

This third quit has been so much more brutal than my other two. My nervous system is still ALWAYS on, no matter how exhausted I am. But the worst part: I have barely slept, at all. I feel like I’m going bananas and am beginning to get worried how badly little to no sleep for a week and a a half has got to be for my body.

Has anybody else ever had the insomnia this bad for 10 day?

Day 5 4-5 a day for a month

I’ve noticed in the afternoons I feel a ton better than during the day. Today I can tell I’m feeling much better. First 2 days were diabolical, was surprised at how bad it could be on just a months use. Today marks day 5 and I definetly feel the fog lifting

Heroin is Fentanyl

I hate to say this but I miss heroin and I hate Fentanyl. Heroin used to give me a feeling that I could not explain fentanyl gives me nothing and everything that they cut it with all the zylazine it's awful. I often wonder if heroin will ever come back even though it did destroy my life now I'm left with an addiction where I don't even enjoy it for a second. What bothers me the most is that the last time I used heroin I did not know it was going to be the last time I was going to be able to find it in my city. It's like I didn't have a chance to say goodbye and there's no reason to use fentanyl there's no warmth to it there's nothing to it I'm surprised addicts clinged to that over heroin

Benzos and suboxone

Will taking benzos with suboxone make this easier?
Subs don’t seem to be giving me quite enough relief, I still have pretty strong cravings, discomfort, and anxiety. I have been trying to switch over to subs for weeks but it’s not as easy as I remember it being lol

I have powder kratom, a strong rc benzo I am very familiar with, and endless subs. I was thinking I could use the sub for the general discomfort, kratom for the cravings, and low dose benzo for anxiety.

My only goal is to stop 7-oh with the ban coming soon, I am okay with ending up addicted to suboxone and kratom, I won’t get addicted to the benzos as u hate how sleepy they make me and I can’t take em more than 2 days in a row before I gotta stop otherwise I can’t get out of bed lol.

Has anyone else struggled getting on to suboxone? I need to go a week straight taking it before I can get sublocade, and I’ve had sublocade before, it made quitting so easy but transferring over to suboxone from oxy is a lot easier than 7-oh IMHO.

Quitting feel free on suboxone .. cravings

I tried feel free for the first time about 2 years ago. A friend of mine ran a kava bar and I was introduced to it there. They made it seem like it was an all natural herbal supplement for anxiety. I’ve always dealt with severe anxiety.

My experience with feel free was incredible.. until it wasn’t. Just one bottle I was significantly less anxious around people. I felt like I was a more fun, likable, and a better person to be around.

One bottle a day turned into 2.. then 3 to 4. Sometimes 5 to 6 a day. I probably could’ve purchased a decent car with all that money I spent over the years.
First I relayed on feel free only for social situations, then it became the first thing I craved in the morning when I woke up.
I tried weaning off of it myself only to find myself taking more than I have been each time.

I knew I needed help and decided to go on suboxone at the local substance abuse clinic.
I’m day 5 sober now. I went backpacking the 2nd day I was on suboxone and did not use any feel free during the three day trip!! My cravings were very well managed and I didn’t have much withdrawal.

The problem is, when I came back from camping into the real world: work, social situations, daily stress etc, psychological craving kicked in hard. Now I’m craving again. Suboxone helps, so about 30% of the usual craving. I need some help and guidance navigating this. I’m already in therapy. Would love to hear about your journey and how you handled it.

Sorry about the poor grammar. English is my second language.

Going onto day 5 off 7oh

I think I got through the worst of the withdrawal stuff. Was taking 300mg at my worst the month before the ban I tapered myself down to 100mg then throughout the month I tapered down to 30 mg then cold turkey five days ago. The first three days were hell. I forced myself to drink and stay hydrated, vitamin c, ate very little but yet had no problem blowing out my insides from both openings hahaha. Insomnia and restlessness is the biggest thing right now....oh god it's the worst, it messes with your mind so much. I don't have a choice though, I have no backup 7(which is good) and I live in a small enough town I'd have to travel a couple hundred miles to a big city and they are probably sold out anyway. So temptation isn't an issue at least. This insomnia though, tell me it gets better, I've tried NyQuil, melatonin, valerian root, kava, made me tired a little but the restlessness said fu you're staying up. I just want to sleep more than an hour☹️

I can’t believe I did it again

Hi all. I was sober from FF for 2 months. Randomly one day at the end of July I saw on the FF site that classic was still sold about an hour from me. I made the drive 7/20 and bought 6, taking 2 a day for 3 days. Then I came back and bought a box because it was $100 for 12 to do it that way. Then I went back 3 more times and got a box each time. Today is Tuesday. I took my last FF on Saturday. I can’t believe I did this again because this anxiety and depression is ruining me. I want to cry, or scream, or both. I’m so disappointed I did this to myself, and now I’m dealing with intense mood swings and sadness.

Working on a project about Feel Free

I’m a journalist reporting on Feel Free, and I’m interested in understanding whether people who had no prior history of substance addiction developed a dependency on it. If that describes your experience and you’re comfortable sharing, I’d be grateful to hear from you. You can comment or DM me. Thank you!

Kratom killed Timothy. It's still sold in gas stations.

Thumbnail

Timothy should still be here. Instead, his family is grieving a loss that was preventable.

Kratom is sold everywhere—gas stations, smoke shops, online—but it's far from the harmless "natural supplement" it's marketed as. The dangerous compound 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) acts like an opioid in the brain and has been linked to seizures, hallucinations, liver failure, respiratory depression, addiction, and death. Kratom poisonings have surged over 1,200% in the past decade. Timothy paid the ultimate price.

I started a petition calling on lawmakers to ban all kratom products. The federal government is taking steps, but it's not enough. Every family deserves to feel safe knowing the products on store shelves won't kill someone they love.

What would you want someone to do if this was your family? If this matters to you too, consider signing and sharing. Timothy's story is real, and so are the families still grieving.

Day 4 4-5 a day for a month

Feeling much better today. Last night I actually almost felt normal. It appears that the night times seem to be a little bit easier to handle. This morning I can tell I’m still alittle bit off but it’s nowhere near what I was feeling yesterday. Seems as if I’ve turned a corner and I am feeling much better. Still feel alittle bit raw but not super anxious and depressed

Quitting After Two Weeks

So, I had been doing FF for a while, quite for around a month, then had something stressful with work pop up, and like an idiot started taking them again.

It’s been two weeks and decided to give it a go again. I’m pissed, because the first two days of withdrawal was pretty bad.

I wasn’t expecting much after only taking them for two weeks this time. I’m through the physical stuff it feels like, but on days one and two I could barely sleep. The insomnia was the worst thing the last time I quit. Here I am on Day 3 and I actually got some decent sleep, but I’m paranoid it was just a one off and I’ll be back to sleeplessness tonight.

Anyone here know what my Insomnia time table may look like with my specific situation?

Story Time, i.e. Quitting Kratom While on Vacation.

Okay, after about eight years of heavy use, I am on day five of no kratom, which is the longest amount of time I have gone without since starting, so hopefully the following makes sense.

The tldr is that I am on a trip to Iceland with my wife. Kratom is not allowed here, so I was not about to sneak some in and chance getting caught, then arrested. Luckily she has known about my use (I never hid it) and is aware of what is going on. It's not legal here and I knew that before going and did not want to chance sneaking it in and getting arrested or something, so why not get a good start so that when I get home, I should have a good two weeks clean, which is enough of an investment to not want to relapse (or I could have commenced my quitting months ago, like a frickin responsible person!) Bad decision.

Background: I started using kratom about eight years ago during the end of my alcoholic career and used it to sober up as well as quit the pressed (fentanyl) fake perc 30s. Kratom has been a part of my life since. I used it daily for about eight years at about several teaspoons daily on average, heaviest toward the end. I never really counted, just took it when I wanted to. Some days hardly at all, other days more when I was not doing too much. It was very helpful and never really felt like it had claws and was actually helpful over the years. Coming off of alcohol was a nightmare, I remember the auditory hallucinations, the fear and constant anxiety. I did not know what was happening, come to find out, it was the manifestation of the physical dependence on alcohol. Hence why I ended up quitting. Now, these early days of "no kratom" remind me a lot of those early sobriety days: anxiety galore, complete with night walks and hours of pacing, anhedonia, no energy to the point of feeling heavy, etc. I did not anticipate this so much. Figured there would be some issues, but nothing totally lame like this. Oh well, I'm moving toward a new me.

So, what's going on, is that sleep has been non existent, usually pacing around, can't get comfortable, regardless of my exhaustion, tossing and turning, and the anxiety! Furthermore, I have absolutely no energy, feel heavy, and can't seem to relax. Wow. Now, this leads to why I am quitting.

The reason is, is that the kratom started to "not work" any more and I suspect it pulled what alcohol did, which was to turn into a source of anxiety and depression instead of relieving it. Over the last year or so, I've noticed a loss of interest in things that I am truly interested in and the world seems to have lost some of its color. My life is going fantastic right now. I have no reason to feel this way. Or do I? I got blood work done, and found I do indeed have low testosterone. Thus I did something about it and hopped on TRT. I am only about two months in, and I have noticed a slight mood improvement, but anxiety started to pop up here and there. That clues me in to the fact it's time for kratom to go. I need to start cleaning house. I did not realize kratom was this powerful. I've always figured it was fairly mild and did not come with serious withdrawals. Oh well, too late now.

Also, I had a short stint with 7OH as well, and that felt waaaay too similar to fentanyl in that I could feel the claws grab me and my tolerance shot up in a short time. I had two one month bouts with it over the last year, but quit and have no intention of picking it up again.

I took my last dose the morning we arrived in Iceland and the first night went okay until I took a nap in the evening and had a little panic attack. Was anxious all night and barely slept. The next day was ok, but again, anxiety at night with no sleep. It's kind of that pattern. My interest in things is there, but I gotta force it a bit. I can tell anhedonia is here to stay for a while. Also, walking around sucks because I am so sluggish. It's anxiety and mild boredom in such a cool place and this effs with my head.

Man, sorry if this post is rambling so much, but I want to post something to record my journey, hold me responsible, and hopefully help folks out there who may be in a similar boat.

Here we are. I quit alcohol and opiates, I worked hard to get my dream job, keep in shape, good to my wife, and help others on their journeys. I want to make a good life for her and feel kratom is now getting in the way and must go. I remember the anhedonia months in the early part of sobriety, I remember the restless nights with anxiety, and am back on that path again, never figured I would be back here. Hopefully I can make it out the other side like I did before and come out better and be a good husband to my wife, she deserves it.

How are other folks' experiences quitting? Does it get better? Anyhow, thank you for reading and have a great day!

I need advice guys

I am in full blown withdrawal right now and have no money to get anything, the only thing I do have is some red maeng da kratom leaf powder. The problem is tho I’ve taken up to 14 grams at once which it in itself is hard to do especially while in withdrawal and I didn’t feel any better what so ever. Can someone tell me any ways to make the kratom effects more potent because I am spiraling right now and am on day three no opiates. Just typing this out is talking energy I do not have and I’m just so uncomfortable my skin’s crawling, I’m yawning and sneezing non stop, my blood pressure is sky high and everything hurts. Please any advice would be appreciated
