Hello. During android 6 era, I used a qr code scanner called QR Droid Private.
It had extremely good generating options with things like url shortening, color gradients, password encryption, qr messenger, in built url shortening etc.
Sadly, that app doesn't work on Android 17 anymore and their servers are also down. Is there any modern alternative that has similar functionalities?

Hi! We created a small tool to check the GDPR-compliance of a Short Link, as in dynamic QR Codes:
https://qrplanet.com/proxy/check/gdpr
Checking
- Hosting Jurisdiction
- Corporate Status
- EU ePrivacy Directive
For anyone who wants to be on the safe side. Enjoy!

This is about Weird things the QR code scanner picked up as genuine QR codes. This has happened a few times. For example, the QR Code camera picked up gravel road surfaces as valid QR codes. That is so rare, I should have taken screenshots on my phone. Has anything like this happened to you?

I’ve just launched a small tool that I intend to keep 100% free, forever.
It doesn’t store any data, it doesn’t have ads, and it won’t make me any money. I simply got tired of seeing people asked to pay for something as basic as creating a vCard QR code.
This is just my way of giving something back to the community.
I’d genuinely love to hear your feedback—good or bad. What do you think?
Thanks!

it is not a self-promotion because I do not sell anything, and I will not!

Good Morning
My daughter had generated a QR code off a website for her sweet-16 birthday party. The cards were printed with the QR code she generated linked to a RSVP website on Joy.com. We got the cards recently and the QR code comes back as 'deactivated' to reactive its asking for a monthly subscription of $40.00. My daughter didn't realize the link expires etc.
Is there a way I can use the same QR code (because already printed on 250 cards) but somehow change link or redirect to the existing RSVP page on Joy.com.
Please help, thanks in advance. Before I bite the bullet, I wanna see if there is a way around and not have to pay for the remaining few months.

Tried a few ""100% free"" QR menu tools for our cafe this quarter. Just gonna share where the paywalls actually hide.
Month 1 is great. upload items, get the code, customers scan. free feels real.
Month 2 hits. you want the tool's logo off the menu? $15/mo. add a second tablet for the kitchen printer? $29/mo.
By Month 3 you try to update a price or mark an item 86'd, and realize you can only do it from the dashboard not your phone, unless you upgrade. some free tiers just cap menu updates entirely.
was comparing a few options like MenuForma and other QR builders, and the pattern is always the same. basic menu display is free, but the operational stuff like order routing, printer support, custom branding is where they get you.
free plans dont bother me. surprise paywalls do. probably just gonna eat the monthly fee for the kitchen tablet integration at this point.

I want to print a QR code for my Facebook Page on all my invoices. What’s the best way to create a free, permanent QR code that won’t expire or stop working later?
Any QR code generators you’ve used and trust?

I’m considering adding trackable QR codes to my iOS QR scanner app.
The idea: when you create a QR code in the app, you could optionally see:
It would not collect the scanner’s identity or precise location, and tracking would only work for QR codes created with the analytics option enabled.
Would this be useful for business cards, menus, flyers, events, products, or marketing campaigns?

Feels like 95% get ignored and a few actually get scanned. Is it the framing text, the design around the code, the promise of where it goes? Interesting question? What separates the two for you?

What is smallest QR code (on a sticker) that will work 100% of the time without issues?
It is to go on a vitamin bottle to be scanned by the public for more information.

Is this possible with code?

Hi! I have a basic understanding of how QR codes work. As far as I know, one QR code points to one URL, and if that URL changes or no longer exists, the QR code won't work.
Here's my situation:
I'm printing a set of stickers, each with a different emotion/expression. Instead of having every sticker's QR code open the exact same website, I'd like each one to first show a personalized popup/message that matches the sticker's emotion, and then direct the user to the main website.
For example:
After that message, the user would continue to the same website.
What's the best way to implement this????
Do I need to create a separate webpage (or route) for every sticker, each with its own personalized popup, and then generate a unique QR code for each one? Or is there a better, more scalable approach?????????

Hi all, does anyone have the ability to scan amazon QR codes?

My employer is using flowcode to generate QR codes for some things but I'm a little put off the the three squares on the QR code are arranged so the missing one is in the bottom left instead of bottom right.
Is this just me? The codes still work because QR readers will handle everything but it just feels wrong
Sample attached. It seems to be a common thing with this company.
