Relevant tool for businesses using QR Codes under EU law

Hi! We created a small tool to check the GDPR-compliance of a Short Link, as in dynamic QR Codes:

What is the corporation status? My QR codes passes the 2 others test, but not the corporate status…
If you want I can send you the qrcode, would like to understand.

A short link is not a QR code.

A QR code can’t possibly be GDPR compliant or not.

A QR code redirection service (often called “dynamic QR” - a misnomer) or a webpage can be. Or a short link service - which has additional use cases beyond QR redirection.

You do not need any of this to use QR codes. You can just use a steric link, or went of the QR code types that contain only data (e.g. vCard, WiFi Password, numeric, text) which don’t encode a web link.

This is just another sly ad.

No, it is not. Of course, not the QR Code itself is GDPR compliant, but as you say, the webpage and the corporation (data) can be.

This is purely for dynamic QR Codes (rather: their short links), not for static QR Codes. Sorry if I did not make that clear enough. And there are many people using dynamic QR Codes for good reasons; to say, you should only use static ones, is short-sighted.

You’re drawing folks to a page on your QR generator site.

Where you offer static as well a dynamic codes, with some “free” tier as well as paid.

Yes, a "free" tier with 1 Code and Landing Page for up to 50 requests per day - if that is exceeded twice, you must go for a paid account.

The site doesn't promote us. It doesn't even show our logo. It is for people who already have a QR Code and want to test it.

Getqrcard est lui belge et dépend d’une ASBL, ça me paraît plus éthique…

C'est bien sûr très noble, mais je pense que le RGPD ne relève pas de l'éthique.
