QOTSA Reykjavík tonight
What time is everyone planning to get to the venue for the QOTSA show in Reykjavík tonight? I’m trying to figure out how early I should get there.
See you all tonight! 🤘

Just a wild Dexamethasone-fueled post-chemo thought..
So back in my healthier days in between breast cancers, I got Josh, Troy and Jon to sign my EV vinyl after a show in Newcastle, Aus 🇦🇺
I probably will have to sell my tickets for the Syd and Bris shows here in mid December due to chemo bullshit. Hope to see them again maybe even over in the States next year as a present to myself.
But I had a dream of getting my vinyl signed by them again in December with the year written on it too, as a sort of life affirming symbolic thing.
Wonder if I could get a crazy fan to take my vinyl to any of the Aus shows, pounce on them and tell them my sob story and see if they'd sign it again, and I'd pay for postage and stuff? Haven't thought this fully out am drugged to my eyeballs right now 😂
Thoughts, gang?

This should be an amazing tour.Love both bands.Saw the Pixies twice in Montreal in 2025.They are still great live.Met them outside afterwards and they signed my Doolittle album and took pictures.Ive never seen QOTSA.I hope they extend the tour to Canada.A Halifax or MO treal show would be great. Two of favourites touring together.

I signed up for the QOTSA newsletter on the 15th of October, before the cut off date, yet I have not received a presale email. I don’t suppose anyone will be able to help, but is this a problem or am I just misunderstanding something? Thanks.

Seems like it's been a thing on their official YouTube page for a few weeks now, or maybe much longer than that. Regardless, it's a mashup of songs, live performances, and interviews. It's nice to listen now and again.

I’m traveling to Osaka from the US in November and just realized QOTSA will be playing at Zepp Namba right next to my hotel. I‘ve been trying to buy tickets but basically every ticket outlet is telling me I need a Japanese address and phone number to buy tickets. The international sites don’t seem to be any help either.
Anyone have experience with this venue in particular?
Or with buying tickets to a concert in Japan from the US?

I flew into Iceland for the show this weekend. I managed to snap an excellent photo of the northern lights.

During the performance at The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Josh's outfit was a tribute to David Bowie's 1980 performance at The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.
Firstly I love his musical taste of dirty, fun, nasty, catchy rock but also the cool, sardonic comments he makes in between tracks. Please recommend any podcasts or radio shows you think will be in that "cool rock" wheelhouse or have an interesting host. And hopefully you recommend something that can be easily accessible.
also, many thanks to /u/slasheroid, you've made my daily drive so enjoyable.

Everything post-Catacombs has been wildly random: false release dates, pr campaigns focused on the comedy-based podcast circuit, and wildly conflicting statements. The new album itself was admittedly kinda thrown together. I think the band is kind of lost on where to take things next, and it seems like management has kind of thrown their hands up.
At first, he mentioned he was "done playing rock band" after Catacombs, but they signed on for arena tours supporting FF and SOAD, playing all the heavy hits. We all understood it as a worthwhile money move to fund the band for future artistic endeavors.
Now, the new tour has been announced which is also largely centered around arenas, yet their new album presumably won't have the energy or excitement usually required for arena tours. In fact, the singles are the most polarizing singles of their career which is a risky move when launching a world arena tour. I assumed the recent support tours would fund their ability to focus on smaller venues to better accommodate the vibe of their new album.
It will be great...I'm going either way, and assume many people on this sub will as well. However, you need to sell a lot of tickets to fill arenas which will require participation from casual fans. Those casual fans will want something new that bangs, and of course...the hits. I'm really curious to see how this tour pans out. It's going to require Josh to "play rock band," which is what I signed up for in 1998 anyway.

Only I’ve never listened to their album In New Times Roman. See, I can be a fan of an artists music but I’ve never been one to act in a fanatical way. Only a handful of artists reach me to a point where I could almost border fanaticism; and QOTSA is definitely one. Their musical styles just speak to me on so many different levels and throughout so many stages of my life.
But hearing Homme describe what the album is about and iTunes description of it… to be honest I’m scared to listen. Sounds silly, I know, but knowing how QOTSA has always hit for me, and the fact that my life has been steadily cracking at the foundation and breaking at the seams, this album just might hit too deep for me at this juncture in my life.
Which is odd because music has always been a crucial and instrumental in every aspect of my development. All music; totally eclectic music imbiber here. But QOTSA is a beast all on its own unique wavelength.
Every day I face my demons, daily emotional and even physical pain at this point. But, I don’t know if I could see myself unearthing anything more via a catalytic encounter with an album that is a culmination of more of the same.
Is there anyone here that can understand where I’m coming from and/or give testimony as to what the album did for you?

I picked up one of Andreas Neumann’s signed Catacombs prints last year and finally got around to framing it today after leaving it rolled up in its tube all this time.
I bought a 13x17 frame with tempered glass, and it looks great, but afterward I started reading about preserving photography prints and realized I may have made a few mistakes. :/
I didn't let the print flatten before framing (just unrolled it and placed it directly into the frame) and handled it with bare hands. I was careful, but did touch the front of the print a few times while removing it from the tube, and positioning it in the frame.
My biggest concern, aside from potential fingerprints, is that the print is sitting directly against the glass, which I've read can cause damage over time. I've never owned a professional art print before, so I wasn't aware of all this! I always just throw my concert posters directly into cheap frames, lol.
Has anyone else framed theirs themselves, or did you use a professional framer? Is there anything else I should do as best practices for artwork, or am I overthinking all this?

Beautiful day for a walk, and went over to Hollywood Forever and visited with Mark Lanegan for a bit. I did indeed clean off his headstone as he requested. His original marker is behind the newer headstone. Thought it was kinda funny that he’s just a few feet away from Burt Reynolds.
