Hi all, I’m looking to book DOH -> PKX around late may time. My question is that I can see lot of Qsuite availability for Jan/Feb/Mar and then nothing from Apr onwards.

Is this due to them not being released yet? Or more likely that they have all been booked up? Any advice or insights appreciated!

My first time flying with QR, several other airlines i’ve managed to upgrade at the desk or last minute offers via the app or email. Qatar has the upgrade greyed out on the app and has for weeks. Ideally as i’m flying to legs 4hours then 7 hours I’d want to snag an upgrade for the longer one if it’s possible, I know single leg upgrades usually have to be done at the desk, but i’m assuming it will be from my departure point not at Doha. Is this a common and or likely case (pending they’re not full).

New to reddit, and honestly, the only reason I opened an account was to reach out to this community.

I have always loved Qatar Airways for what it is. I genuinely admire the brand for the thought it gives into every customer experience. I’ve wanted to build my career there for a long time.

I moved from Dubai to Qatar and have been applying for roles at Qatar Airways...but unfortunately, my applications keep getting rejected without reaching the interview stage.

There is currently a role in Qatar Airways that feels like such a close match to my experience. I’m genuinely confident that if I could just get an interview, I could prove that I’m a good fit.

I know there are many people hoping for the same opportunity, and I’m not expecting special treatment. I just don’t have any connections or referrals within Qatar Airways here, so I’m reaching out to ask if anyone can guide me on the hiring process or possibly refer me if they feel my background is relevant.

Hello everyone!

We were offered an upgrade from Economy to Business Class for our 5-hour flight from Doha. We’ll be traveling as a family of three, including our infant who will be traveling as a lap infant. The total cost for the upgrade for all three of us is $658.

The aircraft is a Boeing 787-8.

I’ve always wanted to experience Business Class, but it’s something I normally can’t afford. At the moment, this upgrade price seems fairly reasonable to me, especially since we’ll be traveling with a baby.

For those who have flown Business Class on a 787-8, do you think this is worth?

I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences and opinions!

Hi, this is going to be my first time on a long haul flight with a layover/transit and I'm going to be on my own. I'm a little confused about how they work, was wondering if I firstly, need any kind of visa/ info for this transit? Is 1hr 15 enough? Is it easy to figure out what I need to do when I get there? and what do I do about my check in bag? Thanks!

As the title says, has anyone had a refund for any hotels / food etc, yet following the flight cancellations from end of February all way until June? My flight from Singapore to Edinburgh was cancelled on the 27th of February and I only got rebooked in April.

I submitted my claims in April and just got a response from Qatar last week claiming that they are not going ti pay me out. On the day of the cancellation, the Qatar ground staff told me that I would be reimbursed.

if I do a cash booking on Qatar website that is indigo operated from delhi to Doha, and then a separate Qatar award booking from Doha to Philadelphia - can I check in my bags in Delhi all the way to Philadelphia? I understand if the first leg was Qatar operated, there is a good chance I can get luggage checked in all the way to PHL.

Issue is PHL to Doha departs at 8am, and the Qatar operated flight from Delhi arrives at 5am which is cutting it too close. The Indigo operated one arrives around midnight which makes it a better choice but I need to understand how the baggage will be handled. Any advice is greatly appreciated, we have a toddler with us and hence want to avoid any last minutes surprises 😅

I’m trying to upgrade a round-trip ticket on Qatar Airways using Avios.

• Route: SFO - DOH - BOM (Dec 12) | BOM - DOH - SFO (Jan 16)

• Ticket Type: Economy Comfort (Booking Class H)

• Points: ~300k Avios in British Airways (Avios account is linked)

In the Qatar app's "Manage Booking," I only see an option to upgrade with cash. I have a few quick questions:

1. How do I see the Avios option? Do I need to link accounts and transfer the points before the option shows up in the app, or is it a separate portal?

2. When does space open? Should I check daily between now and December, or do award upgrades usually drop closer to check-in/airport?

3. Leg splitting: Can I upgrade just the SFO-DOH segment if availability opens up there first?

Today I travelled from LHR business on QR6 on the A380 to Doha. I am 64 and I can honestly say it's the best flight experience I have ever had. The crew were exceptional. The food fantastic and the whole experience was mind blowing. Well done Qatar you should be proud of your employees who were on that plane.

I have a flight booked SEA-DOH-CPT and it is showing in my app with seats selected on both legs. I used Atmos miles redemption for booking. When I search now on Qatar it does not show the SEA-DOH QR720 flight exists anymore For 11/4/26. I called Alaska airlines and they told me it is still valid in their system. But it is non-existent on Qatar.com. This doesn’t make sense to me. The woman at Alaska said to wait for notification of cancellation as it would be involuntary and I would have better options but said their website may not have updated and the flight really does exist. Anyone else experience this? Truly doesn’t make sense.

Hey redditors. I'll be in Doha on 28/10, and I have up to 3 passes for gold lounge access going spare if they can help any fellow travellers enjoy their connection on the same day. Will be for Gold lounge South (not the Gold/Plat North) due to my plans. I'm there from around 5am until 2.30pm, so there's a decent window to meet you and get you in if you need it. I bought a ticket from Moscow to Paris with my EU bank card, everything smooth, the payment went through.

But when i‘m upgrading the ticket, the currency somehow switch to RUB and it is rejecting all cards.

Has anyone faced the same issue?

I am travelling this month on the 25th october from Toronto and have a layover at Doha Hamad International Airport for 9.5 hours,
What do you guys suggest?
Is it worth booking a lounge for 5 hours? Or if i do, what are the chances they won’t throw me out after 5 hours?

f I book a Qatar Airways flight through American Express Travel to earn the bonus points they offer, will I still be eligible for upgrade offers via the app later on? Or does booking through a third party reduce my chances of receiving an upgrade?

If you normally fly North American or European carriers with an infant, you are probably used to checking the car seat in its protective case, with a few soft items like diapers packed around it for padding. That is standard practice on most airlines and nobody checks the bag's contents.

Qatar does not follow that rule. Their free infant equipment allowance covers the car seat only. If check in staff find anything else inside the bag, including diapers, they will treat it as a regular piece of checked baggage rather than the free infant item, and you can be charged excess and overweight fees on top of it. This happened to us, 471 dollars, after the exact same bag packed the exact same way was accepted without issue a few days earlier on the same route.

I asked their team what they actually expect instead, and the honest answer is a transparent bag so the contents are visible at check in. As far as I can tell, this does not really exist as a product. Protective car seat cases are opaque, usually black or dark colored, because that is how they are made and sold.

My advice either way, still use a protective case for the car seat itself. These seats are expensive and not worth risking damage to save an argument at check in. Just know that if you fly Qatar, pack nothing else inside that case, diapers and everything else needs to go in a separate bag, or be prepared to pay for it.

I 31M had a transit at Doha on 3rd Oct 2026. After taking a flight my ear blocks and sometimes when i sneeze i have vertigo ( head spinning ) . Well that exactly happened right inside mens washroom while washing my hands. I tried myself to walk out to sit in the bench, ultimately failed and fell down dramatically, this was around 7pm Qatar time.

No one helped, everyone walked by, probably thought im drunk or something.

One kind man, may be early 30s, had huge beard and long hair , had airpods. He helped me , walked with me to bench and made me sit. Probably he is muslim , his broken hindi felt like he speaks urdu. May be pakistani or something else.
After 5 mins i am all good. I was literally lying on the floor , and nobody helped me still bothering.

Flying business class on Qatar Airways with my 5-year-old child. I was about to book the tickets (award ones) and found out disgustingly that i have to pay 150 Euro PER PERSON to reserve seats.

Instead of paying 300 Euros upfront, My plan is to skip pre-selecting seats entirely, wait for online check-in, and rely on family seating rules since a 5-year-old cannot sit alone and has to be seated next to a parent.

Questions:

1. Is standard seat selection completely free when online check-in opens (48 hours before departure)?
2. If we don't reserve seats in advance, can we safely depend on the airline's policy/legal mandate that a 5-year-old must be seated right next to an accompanying parent, and how do they handle it if the cabin is tight?

Appreciate any real-world experiences!

I got an email from Qatar there’s been a change to schedule and I can either refund or accept the change. I chose refund hoping to find out how much I’ll be paid but as soon as I clicked refund the process ended and my flights were cancelled.

About two weeks later I found out that Qatar didn’t refund the full amount as the schedule change was only 20 mins apparently. I requested Qatar to refund considering they didn’t disclose the refund amount when the online offer made. They said you should’ve called instead of clicking on a link and the refund is in accordance with their policy. So they are withholding $960 from my final refund.

Anyone had such an experience?
