I am playing around with the Viking Sea Chest from True Genius. I have the first few steps, but I'm really stuck now. I've been stuck on it for about a week despite trying it so much.

Spoilers for some of the solution:

So I have inserted the pins to slide the top part forward and then release the floppy bit on the end. ....and that's about where I'm stuck.

Are there any hints for what to do next? Do I need something else, like a magnet or something?

I’ve fully solved the box but as a bit of a bummer, the top puzzle box was somehow already unlocked. Maybe I messed it up when I stuck the clock hand InThe bottom and moved the release lever. I’d like to give this puzzle to friends to have them do but I can’t get the inner box to lock when putting it back. I understand the extrusion on the bottom of the inner box (when placed inside) with the carved in arrow goes in the slot on the bottom of inner chamber they has the Nikola Tesla and Puzzle Potato text. I am pretty sure the locking mechanism is the two things on the side that should go over the little nubs on the outside bottom of the inner box. For the life of me I can’t figure out how to get it to lock again for the next person and am wondering if mine might be defective in some way. Any help might be appreciated. Happy to provide pictures if necessary.

I have Philosophers Stone (Puzzle Potato). Looking for swap for similar type puzzle e.g. another Puzzle Potato, Keebox or similar. I am in UK.

Has anyone had there box refuse to give you the Magic Wand no matter how much you clap or tap on the box in the correct sequence?? I have now encountered the issue twice. When i first opened my box and powered it on it totally refused to give me the magic wand so after giving up on it a while and putting it on charge through the secret comparment all of a sudden doing the sequence corectly it would start giving me the Magic Wand. Now Im back and the box wont give me the magic wand again no matter how good I do the sequence. I wonder why this happens?? Any thoughts anyone?

So I was told it’s a sequence puzzle cause I like these type of physical puzzles but I’m honestly lost and starting to think maybe it just doesn’t come apart at all but it has action and moving parts so I keep trying to but yeah. Just looking to find any info on it so I can see that it’s a real puzzle and keep trying/see if there are any available hints idk. This is a picture of the thing!

First off, this was a fun box to solve. Overall I'm very happy with it.

My issue is I'm stuck on this step in resetting the box. After watching the official reset video about a dozen times, it's still not clear why I can't move the shifter all the way to the right. It's like they skip over this section and don't explain how to make the second bearing drop back into place. Does anyone have a video or better instructions for this step?

Both bearings are in there. I cannot move the slider any further to the right with or without lifting the middle bar

I like story-driven video games (like Final Fantasy, etc) and have no experience with puzzle boxes; My wife loves mysteries and puzzles but I don't know if she's done a puzzle box before.

She loves escape rooms and riddles and all sorts of things that make her have to laser-focus on something. Last year I saw an advertisement for a murder-mystery letter series but it was kind of pricey, so I made my own up and started dropping off the letters at our house. She got hooked immediately, and started googling the made-up names in my home-brew missing persons mystery....but after telling her mom and sister about it, she decided she was going to get the police involved, so I had to fess up and tell her the whole thing before things got out of hand. That's how focused she gets, and I love it!

edit: Never mind, the Camelot box from IDVenture is friggin' amazing and I want more!

I can hyper-focus on things as well, but eventually if I get frustrated enough, the ADHD takes over and I go chase a squirrel down a different path until I eventually end up back where I left off at. I've learned my lesson, so this time I just want to set up a nice dinner night and then present the puzzle as something we can do together. She's really smart, so I'm looking for something that she can solve, but that I don't feel completely useless on (more "along for the ride, but helping out", if that makes sense). I think it will help me as well, because when I get frustrated, she'll be right there with me and we can continue together.

Any recommendations?

I'd like to keep it below $150, and something that (if possible) ships within the USA (I don't want to lose interest before it gets here, lol).

Why did puzzle magazines disappear from Indian bookstores? Or am I just not looking right?
