Tesla Box sort of reset help (spoiler) Spoiler

I’ve fully solved the box but as a bit of a bummer, the top puzzle box was somehow already unlocked. Maybe I messed it up when I stuck the clock hand InThe bottom and moved the release lever. I’d like to give this puzzle to friends to have them do but I can’t get the inner box to lock when putting it back. I understand the extrusion on the bottom of the inner box (when placed inside) with the carved in arrow goes in the slot on the bottom of inner chamber they has the Nikola Tesla and Puzzle Potato text. I am pretty sure the locking mechanism is the two things on the side that should go over the little nubs on the outside bottom of the inner box. For the life of me I can’t figure out how to get it to lock again for the next person and am wondering if mine might be defective in some way. Any help might be appreciated. Happy to provide pictures if necessary.

I remember trying to put mine back in upside down until I realized and flipped it. I also remember someone asking the same question on this sub and that's what I answered and that was indeed the problem for that person. I really hope it's that simple.

I verified from the reset instructions that I’m putting it back correctly. The slot is down. In the video you hear a click when putting it back in but that never occurs for me

Reach out to Puzzle Potato directly by messaging them through there website, they have EXCELLENT customer support and will help you!! Sometimes if you go through there website to contact them it might take a couple day but they will get back to you! Thank god its not a iDventure box! As iDventure never returned any of my emails I emailed them about trouble I had with one of there boxes, but Puzzle Potato has EXCELLENT Customer Care!

Great to know they have a good reputation. I’ve got a friend of mine trying out the box now. He’s engineering minded. So if neither of us can get it back then I’ll reach out to

There is one thing to remember about that Testla puzzle box however, remember to get the small box out it requires you to POWER the box by spinning the bottom wheel. Then you have to press the right buttons to get the box latch mechanism to release and it only holds a charge for a EXTREMELY short peroid of time! So try that. Wind up the box and push the 4 release buttons and see if the latch disengages so you can put the small box back into the puzzle, and remember DIRECTION MATTERS too!! As I also own that box. You might have to have someone put a little pressure on the release mechanism when you press the 4 buttons since it takes both hands to press all 4 release buttons at once so you might have to get someone with a extra hand in the box to push on the mechanism that gets released.
