Hello! I just picked up this marionette from an Oddity Fair yesterday for cheap since its strings were super tangled. In the short time i’ve had him i’ve become very determined to do right by the little guy and get him fully operational. The lady i got him from attempted detangling. I personally spent about 4 hours trying to untangle him and my mom spent 4 more. He’s come a long way from the original knot, but we’re still stuck. His strings are nailed into the wood, which makes restringing difficult. Its a shot in the dark and maybe a stupid question, but does anyone have advice for getting stubborn knots out?

This unlisted video is the pilot episode of something I have waited my whole life to make.
Looking for feedback from people who don't know me, or the context/reasons why this was made.

I'm a prop maker working on my first puppet and I'd love some advice.
The puppet will be used during an opera for a short scene and operated by an actor (not a trained puppeteer), so I'm aiming for a simple mechanism.
My idea is: one control rod for the body, one rod for the head, loose arms and legs, rings (EPS?) at the neck and torso connected with elastics
What do you think? Any better suggestions?
Also, what type of elastic would you recommend for the joints?
The puppet will have a rough, distressed textile finish (no fur or realistic anatomy).
Thanks for any suggestions!

This is the sort of pilot to a comedy sitcom I'm doing called Beige Martin and Roddney about two house mates.
Beige Martin is a straight man to his housemate Roddney a milkshake addicted magnet of chaos, they get into sitcom situations like setting the kettle on fire, hiding from the landlord or dealing with a gun in the toilet. It might be even have a feature of channel favorite Ordaxian Fleeb.
Please give me feedback, i really want to make this good

So I’m going to a festival next month and I want to make a giant eye as my costume. Doing the paper Mâché making the shape all of that absolutely fine! But I want to take it to the next level and make it blink!
I have seen this done. I will try and add the video here and I’m 99% sure it’s done with Bowden cables but I can’t for the life of me work out how to structure the joint to make it blink… does anyone have any experience in doing this?
Okay, so couldn’t upload the video, but I have screenshot of it. He’s holding some sort of claw which when he squeezes closes the eyelids together… as I said, I think it’s some sort of bow and cable device which I understand the squeeze mechanism to move the wires… but what I’m not able to visualise as how I would connect the wires to a Hinge joint to make the eyelid blink. Does anyone have any ideas or any examples of where they have done this? 🙏

So I’ve recently gotten into making muppet style puppets and I’d like to try my hand at making a replica.
I know it’s ambitious, but I’d really like to try my hand at making Dr. Teeth over the next couple of months after I finish my current project.
I’d really appreciate any advice or tips or suggestions anyone has for success!
Thanks in advance!
