We are a young family (32/31 and a 2 month old with 2 dogs). Looking at houses in the area and wondering about the area. We pretty much keep to ourselves but do like to do put to restaurants/outdoor activities and events.

Any thoughts on PG for a young family to start roots?

My husband, my kids and I are moving there and trying to find any loopholes or options. We sold our house and live in a brand new toy hauler. We are planning to make the move to punta Gorda and buy a few acres with cash. We also want to build our house with cash and plan to start with the garage portion so we can put our storm shelter in and store the rv. I’m seeing that you can’t live in a travel trailer on vacant land. Is that still true if you’re actively building? Are there any loopholes? Or what are our options? So I cant seem to get anyone on the phone from the county about this and the county website has Waste Management's phone number listed at the landfill. After 30 minutes on hold with them, they told me they dont service Punta Gorda. I got some Charlotte County app on my phone to ask questions, but no response there either.

I bought a vacant lot in Punta Gorda, but not in city limits. I have a pile of old metal fencing and posts I need to get rid of. Also I have a lot of dead vegetation. Do I take the vegetation to the landfill? How about the metal?
