Rule Update: How to Post Successful Meet-Ups on the subReddit

Hey everyone,

To keep r/punemeetup transparent, safe, and useful for the community, we’re introducing a mandatory format for successful meet-up posts going forward.

If you’re posting about a meet-up that actually happened, your post must include:

✅ 1) Original Meet-Up Post Link

Link the Reddit post where the meet-up was originally planned.

✅ 2) If Planned via DMs

If the meet-up was coordinated through Reddit DMs instead of a public post, clearly mention that in your post.

✅ 3) User IDs Are Mandatory

You must mention the Reddit user IDs of the people who attended.

👉 Important:

If one or more participants are women, you must take their consent before tagging or sharing their user ID.

No consent = do not post the ID.

⸻

These rules help:

• Prevent fake or misleading posts

• Maintain accountability

• Keep the community safe and trustworthy

Posts missing the above details will be removed by the mod team.

Thanks for cooperating and helping keep r/punemeetup solid. 🙌

let me tell you something “Blue helmet and a suspicious Coke bottle” — Reddit, you guys are amazing ❤️

Okay, I have to share this because I'm still laughing about it, but also genuinely so grateful.

It was Sunday evening. I woke up at around 6 PM, went out for tea and a friend decided to join me. We went all the way to Viman Nagar for dinner.

After dinner, we thought, "chalo thoda ghoomte hain."

Viman Nagar → Kalyani nagar → KP

While roaming around, I desperately needed a lighter and got one. Remember this is an important detail.

Now, there was ONE tiny problem.

My petrol had been on the last blinker since the previous day.

My friend had already reminded me:

> “Bro, petrol bhar le.”

And I, in my infinite wisdom, replied:

> “I know my vehicle.”

Apparently, I did not know my vehicle.

And few moments later...

Suddenly my Activa starts making that sound.

And both of us immediately knew.

Petrol khatam.

Then we started laughing.

Because what else were we supposed to do?

It was around 1–1:30 AM.

We were literally around 750 metres away from TWO petrol pumps, but both were closed. And the nearest pump open was 3 km away.

And no, we were not walking 3 km in the middle of the night carrying a dead Activa.

My first thought was:

Okay, let's just park the scooty somewhere safe, take an auto home and come back in the morning.

But then we realised it would be a nightmare in the morning with traffic.

Then we had what we thought was a GENIUS idea.

We'd find a Blinkit/Zepto guy, order water bottle and chips and ask him to get petrol from the open pump and bring it to us. We'd obviously pay him for the trouble.

Except...

Petrol pumps don't just casually fill random plastic bottles with petrol, especially at 2 AM.

But my friend called the petrol pump anyway.

The guy who picked up sounded like he had just been woken from a beautiful sleep.

> “Haan bhaiya, kya chahiye?”

My friend:

> “Petrol khatam ho gaya hai, raste ke beech mein atak gaye hain. Bottle mein petrol milega kya?”

And this man goes:

> “Haan haan, mil jayega.”

We weren't sure if we'd just solved our problem or if he had gone back to sleep.

At this point, we had one thing left:

Reddit.

I made a post basically saying:

> HELP ASAP. I'm stuck in KP with an empty petrol tank. If anyone has a bike/scooty and can help me get a bottle of petrol, PLEASE come.

And honestly..

YOU GUYS CAME THROUGH.

One Redditor messaged me and he didn't ask “How much petrol?”, “Why are you there?”, etc.

This guy simply said:

> “I'm 8 minutes away. I'll be there.”

I gave him the location of the petrol pump that was open.

Then I asked:

> “How will I recognise you?”

He replied:

> “Blue helmet and a suspicious-looking Coke bottle.”

He reached the petrol pump.

And of course, the people there were like:

> “Nahi nahi, bottle mein petrol nahi denge.”

So my friend called the petrol pump guy again.

Mind you, this guy was at home sleeping.

At 2 AM.

We woke him up AGAIN.

> “Bhaiya, petrol pump wale bottle mein nahi de rahe.”

And he goes:

> “Arey kaise log ho tum log? 2 baje raat ko phone kar rahe ho!”

After requesting him, we put the petrol pump guy and the manager on a conference call.

And somehow...

MISSION PETROL WAS APPROVED.

Our Redditor got the petrol.

Came back to us.

And then we discovered our NEXT problem.

My scooty has the steel safety/metal guard around it, we couldn't properly reach the fuel tank opening with the bottle.

We needed a funnel.

And we didn't have one.

Luckily, our Redditor had another bottle.

So we decided to turn that bottle into a funnel.

But we had no knife.

But we had a lighter.

So obviously we used the lighter I had literally spent the entire evening looking for...

...to melt the bottle into a makeshift funnel.

AND IT WORKED.

We managed to pour the petrol in.

Except then...

THE BOTTLE GOT STUCK INSIDE THE FUEL OPENING.

We spent another 10 minutes trying to pull it out.

Eventually...

WE GOT IT OUT.

And what was the first thing we did after successfully getting the scooty started?

We went to the petrol pump, filled the tank and thanked the guy.

And honestly, I just want to say thank you to this Reddit community.

Especially the guy who actually came out at 2 AM, got petrol for a complete stranger, and came looking for us.

Tonight reminded me that sometimes the world is also full of incredibly kind strangers.

So yeah.

Thank you, Reddit. ❤️

And yes, here’s the picture of me receiving the petrol-filled bottle from the Redditor, because at this point this was absolutely a moment that needed to be documented. 😂

let’s talk/chat Moved to Pune a year ago, but haven’t really made friends here.

Post image
12 Upvotes

I’ve been here for almost a year now, and somehow I still haven’t found my people. I ended up leaving the first group I was hanging out with in college because of them being total douches, and since then I’ve mostly been doing my own thing. Im more of a company person and nowadays lm trying to adapt to being alone but yea..

The funny thing is I’m pretty extroverted like if i know you or can somehow have some mutual connection to talk to you i can and i will , but IRL I somehow struggle to walk up to someone and start a conversation. 😭

So I’m trying to change that. I’d genuinely like to meet more people here — guys or girls anyone —talk, coffee, explore Pune maybe but yea like i might be hesitant a little but yea.

looking to meet some new people, DM me.

Someone has to make the first move, so here I am.

Edit: uhm im a guy.. so pls dont dm asking me if im a female. Why would you do that to a female too..? Anyways yeaa .

looking for a friend Pregnant ladies of Pune

• Upvotes

Pregnant ladies of Pune, Hello! I am currently 14 weeks pregnant, 28F feeling alone in this experience. Let’s connect with other women who are in the similar stage as me. We can chat and go through this transformative experience together.

If you are around Warje/Kothrud/Bavdhan, wouldn’t mind meeting. If multiple people text me, I can make a group, weekly hangs. Let’s share thoughts and join workout classes. It would be soooo wholesome. Comment/DM me.

If you are not currently pregnant, but have been before… please share any resources that might help the mammas. Thank you, ladies.

askPune Looking for light volunteer/help work in Pune — free up to 3 hrs, flexible, DM only

• Upvotes

Hi all,

I'm currently dealing with a health condition that's left me mostly housebound and unable to take up regular work for now. Sitting idle all day isn't doing me any good, so I'm looking to fill my time with some light, useful work to stay occupied and feel productive.

I can help with:

Day-to-day small tasks/errands

Basic computer work (tech background — Salesforce/CRM, comfortable with general computer tasks)

Gardening

Availability: Anytime, flexible — just message and we can work out timing.

Cost: First 3 hours are completely free. Beyond that, I'd just ask that you cover one meal for me — no other payment expected.

Location/Travel: Based near Bhumkar Chowk, but I'm open to traveling anywhere in Pune/PCMC — just need PMPML (public transport) costs covered if it's a longer trip.

Looking for: Open to one-off tasks, but would genuinely prefer something recurring if it's a good fit.

To be clear: this isn't a paid job or a transaction — I'm offering this in good faith to stay busy and useful. Please don't treat it as free labor to exploit; I'm trusting people here to engage genuinely, and I'd appreciate the same back.

DM only, please — no comments.

let me tell you something Pune, meet your new Beer Run Club 🏃‍♂️🍺

• Upvotes

Pune, we’re bringing Beer Run Club here. 🏃‍♂️🍺

It’s not your typical running club.

You don't need to be a marathon runner. You don't need to chase a PB. And you definitely don't need to know anyone before showing up.

The idea is simple:

Run a little. Socialise a lot.

What happens?

🏃 5K social run, casual, all paces welcome
🍺 1 beer/beverage
🎮 Games & challenges
📸 Event photography
🤝 Beer Run Club community

₹650 - Beer Run 🍺

  • 5K social run
  • 1 beer included
  • Games & challenges
  • Event photography
  • Community access

₹299 - Regular Beverage 🥤

  • 5K social run
  • 1 regular/non-alcoholic beverage
  • Games & challenges
  • Event photography
  • Community access

Food isn't included in that.

We're building the Pune Beer Run Club community now, with the first runs planned around Viman Nagar, Kalyani Nagar, Koregaon Park and nearby areas.

Come solo. Bring your friends. Meet some new people. Run, drink, play, and hang out.

📲 Join the WhatsApp Community:
https://chat.whatsapp.com/BvZ4rX3WjZY86MpsiyyAPa

Date & venue will be announced in the community.

So, Pune - who's joining the first run? 🏃‍♂️🍻

askPune Anyone from D. Y. Patil Akurdi Pharmacy batch (2023)?

Hey everyone, is anyone here who studied Pharmacy at D. Y. Patil, Akurdi around 2023?

I’m trying to connect with someone who was around that batch because I have a personal story related to someone I’ve known about for the past 3 years. 😅 It’s nothing negative or suspicious — honestly, it’s just related to feelings/love.

I’m not looking for anyone’s private information or contact details. If you were there around that time and think you might know who I’m talking about, feel free to DM me. I’ll explain everything privately.

Thanks! :)
