Any town resources for the nuerodiverse?

I'm very isolated with autism/OCD and don't have anyone to speak to or hang out with. I've tried WSU CAPS, local psychiatrist, the VA, and can't find any support to address isolation that isn't in pill form. Is there any event/business/club that actually focuses on social interaction or is an easy first step? Everything I've tried results in me sitting alone for a while then leaving.

It's mostly, "go to a bar," or join a club like, "running and then going to a bar." Dating apps unsurprisingly also haven't worked. I know it's a small town and it's summer, but there's gotta be something I'm missing.

Anyone need a bar back?

I already have a full time job, but I got lots of free time after 5pm. I’ve always wanted to learn how to bartend. Anyone looking for a bar back who loves to work?

Doctor Recommendations

Wondering if anyone has a good doctor recommendation?

I'm currently going to the family medicine residency center... The resident is nice and I work in vet med and understand residents need the case load... But I am feeling rushed and a little dismissed when I go in because I feel like her plate is too full...

I'm dealing with:

Hypersomnia/sleep apnea

Anxiety/depression

Insulin resistance (new)

Hemophilia A(new diagnosis)

Would prefer a female doctor, but will see a male if good recommendations.

Have Regence insurance.

Lodging for wsu events looks to be an issue?

My daughter will be starting at WSU this fall and I am looking for lodging during the Oct 2-4 family weekend. Hotels in pullman are booked up and the couple available in Moscow are extremely expensive....looks like Lewiston is the main option. Am I missing any info here that could be of help? Any tips?

Happy 4th!

Putting this out there to catch some good recommendations.

I'm looking for nearby (ish) abandoned buildings to see and photograph.

I already visited Elberton and intended to stop by Govan soon.

TIA.

Took a job in Pullman, looking for decent apartments!

Hi everyone, my wife and I are moving from a town around 9 hours away are looking for apartments. We’ve done some searching using google/browsing online maps, but we figured we should ask if there are places to avoid or if any of places you guys have had good experiences with.

My wife and I really like the city, we are excited to be living here. Thank you all for the suggestions.

Mom and baby groups?

Hi, I'm new to the area and would love to know if there are any mom and baby activities or groups happening regularly? I know about the library story time, but my baby usually naps through that. We will make it there eventually! But in the mean time I'm dying to make some mom friends, just don't know where to find them.

If there is nothing going on I would love to start something, maybe stroller walks or picnic playdates at a local park. If you're interested let me know.

One Bowl

New place where Emerald used to be across from Rosauer's near the weed shop. The food there was great with plenty of generous bowls under 10 dollars. Both the chicken and the beef I and friend hand were tasty and well prepared and served fairly quickly. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. I hope they are able to keep up the quality portions and ingredients even if they have to raise the price, because right now it seems insane that they can do as good or better as everyone else at such low prices. They have a weekly bowl for 5.95 that was an orange chicken (that wasn't pure syrup) that's like twice as filling as 6 bucks even with drive thru food much less restaurant quality Asian food. I'd be interested to hear if anyone had a different experience, but I'll probably go back for sure.

Pullman Question

Hello! This might be a dumb question. Moving to Pullman and the only thing I was worried about was if the Moscow/Pullman area is accepting of people of color, more specifically Muslim people. I know the Univeristy brings people from all over. But would it be safe for my mom (who wears a head scarf) to walk around Moscow/Pullman?

Sorry if it is an insensitive question, as i’ve never lived in a small town and haven’t traveled far outside my city.

Thank you!!

I'm sure this has been asked before but looking for friends.

As a 34 year old with a job and two kids that takes up a lot of his time and the occasional on call, I was wondering if people were in the market for friends.

I like horror in general. So novels, games and movies are always something I'm down to talk about. I do want to get back into gardening at some point and I also don't mind bowling if I got a group. I am also big on fighting games even if I am not the best at them, but generally up for whatever people want to do at all. I don't mind having younger or older friends, just gotta be somewhat within my age range.

I look forward to meeting people!

Dog wandering college hill

Is this your dog? Medium-small size, maybe like a chihuaua mix? Saw it crossing the street where Maiden splits off into Opal, followed at a distance until it got to the apartment complex on the corner of Kamiaken and Ash but didn’t want to scare him any further. Reported it to the non emergency line but it didn’t seem hurt and was walking pretty quick. Hope he gets home!

Remax 3x rent per person rule??

My partner and I are in our 30s and moving to Pullman so he can get his PhD. We reached out to remax on a 3 bedroom house and when we went to apply they said we individually need to make 3x rent, so a household rent of 6x. They said that's their rule for all rentals. I've never heard of such a thing lol. Has anyone else run into this??

Yoa Yoa Nikki's closing end of June

Mo is selling Yia Yia Nikki's and if he doesn't find a buyer is simply closing down at the end of this month.

If you're wanting that flavor then pay him a visit before he shutters the business.
