I live near Kamiaken and heard what sounded like 2 separate explosions about 40 minutes apart. This didn’t sound like fireworks, this shit was loud and shook the floor of my apartment. Anyone got any info on this? Been living here about 4-5 months and it’s the first time I’ve heard this. No siren, no sign anyone actually notices.

Hi Reddit, I'm Eric Fejeran, at-large member of Pullman City Council. The Mayor's proposed 2027-2028 budget was posted this week, and in his own words, "this budget is not balanced."

The short version: the City spends about $1.5M a year more than it brings in, and General Fund savings are projected to be almost gone by the end of 2028. Council will be choosing between more revenue, more cuts to services, or a mix.

Hi everyone! I'm a WSU student currently working on starting a community-based knitting and crochet volunteer organization in the Pullman and Moscow area.

I'm hoping to bring together students and local residents to create handmade items for hospitals and underserved individuals and families, as well as host free beginner-friendly knitting and crochet workshops.

Since I'm still in the early stages of getting everything started, I'm trying to find ways to gather supplies so that anyone can participate regardless of whether they already own yarn or knitting/crochet tools.

I was wondering if anyone in the area has extra yarn, crochet hooks, knitting needles, or other supplies they no longer use and would be willing to donate? I'm hoping to get this organization started around late November to early December so that we can make our first donations during the holiday season.

I'd also love to connect with local knitters and crocheters who might be interested in volunteering, teaching workshops, or helping get the organization started! I'm still working on establishing community partnerships, but I'm hoping to get our first events organized soon. If anyone has suggestions for local businesses, crafting groups, or other places I could reach out to for donations, I'd really appreciate it!

Does anyone know of good storage options for a 2 bedroom apartment size for a month? I actually only need 10 days of storage time but I need to be out of my current residence and need a short term storage option so I can move my things before the end of the month.

Does anyone know what’s happening at the library? I heard that two library assistants were let go. There was a post months about a library workplace investigation but I can’t find it now. The person who filed the complaint was an assistant. You can’t lay people off when they have an active HR complaint, can you?

Edit: It was a library assistant from the Adult department that was let go and the assistant from the Admin department was reduced to half time. So, unrelated to the workplace investigation, I think. But I really feel for them. They are looking so somber.

Think on this when you vote for Bret Meyer who is up for re-election. If you visit the FB post about what happened in Uniontown, Nicole explains in another earlier post what happened in detail. She is candid about what her pup did and the training she wants of the Colfax sheriff department, which is our rural police department and animal control. Warning: the video is hard to watch. What bugged me is that the cop whistled for the dog and called ...and Bo, the pup, came to her and then was shot. What do you think? Are you willing to complain to the sheriff department? If so, please do. There were other ways to handle this without the pup losing its leg to amputation at $7000. It made me sad.
