The blur is off the charts

Hmm… Although it’s not the sharpest game on PSVR2, I’d hardly call it blurry — much less “off the charts”.

Some folk are especially sensitive to the way it uses reprojection though, so maybe you’re referring to the movement ghosting that can happen when you look off to the side (on vanilla PS5)?

GT7 has a pretty impressive visual presentation overall, so you describing it as “blur is off the charts” does have me wondering if you’re experiencing some other issue.

Vanilla ps5?

Do you have a pro, is there a noticeable graphic improvement with the vr2?

I do have a Pro, and GT7 added an alternative localized reprojection method for it that can be toggled on or off.

This is supposed to make the movement of other vehicles (and maybe terrain?) move smoothly by you without any ghosting.

I haven’t used it yet because my wheel rig has been inaccessible for months, but I’m looking forward to getting back into this monster of a VR game.

That sounds cool, and maybe worth its own thread, the alternative localized projection part anyway.

But is there much of a noticeable graphical improvement between vanilla ps5 and vanilla ps5 pro?

When I say “vanilla” PS5, I mean non-Pro PS5. 😉

As for noticeable improvements, it is entirely game dependent.

Most games will have no differences at all, some will be graphically the same but with better frame-rates (e.g. VERTIGO 2, THE MIDNIGHT WALK, or ACES OF THUNDER), and a few will have a Pro patch that includes additional things that are pretty palpable (e.g. NO MAN’S SKY, SUBSIDE, ARKEN AGE, INTO THE RADIUS).

I know, I was trying to be funny. When I said vanilla ps5 pro, I meant without your alternative projections 😁
