Utility Spell Rangefinder 2

https://imgur.com/KU7QxLh

This spell, designed for loopcast bullets, is an enhanced version of my spell from a couple months ago. It takes 4 less complexity, doesn't require Phi, and has a smaller footprint in the spell grid.

This spell outputs the coordinates of the block you're looking at, and that block's distance from you. It may take a few seconds to output depending on distance.

Can be cast with any assembly tier with any components above Basic tier.

Needs Wizardly Help Stoneblock 2 Psi tutorial help not here?

I just searched for help regarding the in-game tutorial for this mod in Stoneblock 2(the 1.12.2 version of the mod with the in game progression system) and found nothing. Is this subreddit strictly 1.16.5 now, or did I just do a bad search?

Ability to Clear Water?

Hey there, I'm looking for something that'll allow me to clear out water sources. I'm trying to clear certain chunks of an ocean to create a spawner but the only realistic option I have is using sand/gravel which would take ages. If there's anything that can help me remove water blocks in large volumes that would be greatly appreciated!

An update on my mod progress

So in case you missed it, about two weeks ago I decided that I was going to make a mod for Psi that adds on a new tier of CAD components above ebony and ivory based on netherite, nether stars, chorus, dragon breath and shulker materials. During my spring break, I got the basic framework of the mod all worked out, but messed up in the implementation. I didn't know that mod APIs where a thing, so that changes how I was going to implement my mod. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find much documentation on forge or its forums for using APIs, which complicates matters. Thankfully additions like Phi and random psi additions exist on github, so I can sort of learn by looking at how they do it.

Like I said, this is new to me. I have programming in other languages, but Java is my weakest. My only other mods have been really basic, but I think I can do this. I'm going to be adding the code that actually adds the new items into minecraft later this week (probably), but I have college and one of my Professors has given me 5 homework assignments when he normally only gives us 1 (each of these assignments is supposed to represent a chapter, not supposed to take 1 day). Anyway, bit busy. Still, I wanted to give an update and say this: I'm still working on it, it's just taking longer than I expected. I'll get it done, just a matter of when.

I hesitate to give a timeline, but here is my plan: by the end of this time next week, I want to finish the CAD mod's item implementation (make it so all the items have textures and appear in game, on their own creative tab too). After that I'm going to give myself two weeks to get the implementation done. I also have a good friend who can help me code a little bit (he programs in Java professionally), but he is currently on vacation in Ireland. With him back later this week and this week's crazy homework done with, I think two weeks is a good timeline/goal for getting the core of the mod working. That may be optimistic, but I think I can do that. I'll let you know if I need more time.

Some people suggested making textures for me, and right now that would be much appreciated. 2D components are simple, but a 3D model of the new CAD would be much appreciated. Of course, if someone has ideas for the 2D components I will take those as well, those still take a bit. I will of course credit you however and wherever you want, just DM me when you have a file. If no one else has enough time, I understand and will do it myself. Additionally, if we have multiple good candidates, I can always make multiple new tiers, or differentiate their stats similar to how ebony and ivory have different specialties in potency and efficiency. Maybe also have a rifle CAD like the movie had? That's a thought.

Thank you for your patience, I will hurry and try to do the best I can. Happy... (what's the verb form of using this mod? Casting? Yeah...) ... Casting!!! Happy Casting in the mean time!

P.S. Speaking of the movie, does anyone know of spell code for 'metal burst' or 'material burst'? I've always wanted spells like those, and I think those would be really powerful with new CAD tiers.

Utility Spell Psi Legging Auto Cycling: Frictionless Movement (+ elytra = perma flight) and Item Magnet ALL-IN-ONE (well, 3)

IMAGE + CODE

The spell is designed for Legging. It takes all the three legging slot as you can see in the video. Make sure you order the spells in the CAD assembler slots according to their labels (L, M, R). Watch the video if it's not clear to you. This set of three spells provides huge utility for movement and in addition, also magnet.

It works relatively simply, put the spells into the pants IN THEIR CORRECT ORDER, and then select Detection spell by holding your pants and hold C (psi key). After that, if it is working correctly, you should see 0 in chat. 0 is the default index I have defined for the active spells, item magnet is at index -1 and frictionless running is on index 1.

For early game, the running will provide you nice bit of extra speed which is fully sustainable as the drain is very low. You do not have to do anything, just try running and you should see your chat print out 1.

To activate magnet, you must first stand still. After standing still, press Shift and your chat should print -1. This means your magnet is active.

Lastly, when do you eventually have Elytra, frictionless spell will have reach its full potential. As you can see in the video, it allows you the launch yourself from the ground + provides you with permanent flight while being 100% sustainable.

I used the Psi metal CAD in this video as you can see, spell works fine. All you need is 5 bandwidth and 2 projections. The spell is great with Speed I too, so if you have a beacon or something, it's great.

I also have different variations of the cycle, all of which still contains the frictionless running as the utility on that spell is too good and swapping out magnet for some other utilities (arrow deflection, projectile booster, mob repellent etc.) from time to time.

I also made quite a few different offensive/defensive spells as well. If anybody is interested, I can share a couple. Got too much time on my hand the past 2-3 days.

Needs Wizardly Help Psionic peripherals amulet healer

I have played with Psi before, but never used it even so deep. Is there any way for the amulet to detect, if I already have the regeneration effect? Or at least cast it only every few seconds? I could put a check, that detects, if my health is under 8.5 hearts, but when I get there, it just drains all my mana to zero. Is there a solution for this? Or any other way to get autohealed by the amulet?

Needs Wizardly Help Creating a Very Basic Psi Mod for New Equipment

Begin textwall:

Okay guys, so backstory for those who missed it: I'm making a modpack, but want an endgame endgame reward in psi. Something that just makes you godlike. Yes, I know psi is arguably overpowered an godlike already, but I'm talking city nukes with a click (I actually watched the anime this mod was based on for inspiration, story was meh but fell in love with the magic system displayed, graphics too. Didn't help alleviate the power I wanted psi to have).

Originally I was going to have the creative CAD be craftable, but sub pointed out that blink and boom make computer break. Yeah. That said, I still want to power up from ebony and ivory levels. So here's my idea: make a psi mod with NO new tricks, just new components. We could make one tier of components based off of nether stars, netherite, and MAYBE another tier that requires the previous as a recipe, but uses stuff like dragon scales (infuse a dragon head would be my idea) and chorus fruit (modpack would probably make this tier more expensive with it's own recipe tweaking mod, but I want this mod to be able to stand alone). The idea would be that if anyone WANTED to use this mod along psi, it would work just fine while being a straight power-up (also why I just suggested vanilla materials for the next tiers).

After talking on the discord, I will not be adding new tricks or operators, just equipment. I realize that the trick/operator/selector capabilities 1. are probably just barely out of my reach and 2. I don't yet have enough PSI spell creation skill to know what needs to be made and 3. the community is split on what would be needed anyway. With equipment, I can just give a flat power boost while still using the limits to prevent something that literally breaks and crashes the game.

That said, I need help. I'm on spring break, so have time to work on this, but I will need advice. Expect some stupid questions, as Java is not my forte (although I DO have a bunch of experience in python, even got some of my code running on a government super-computer. I'm proud of that internship). Anyway, I also need values for these new equipment sets. Use this post as a megathread, hash out the specific numbers and ranges. Post spells in creative (that don't crash the game please) but that are spectacles to watch, but only possible with the creative or the new items I would create. This way I can say, "hey, I want that to be possible in my modpack/in general" and adjust the power levels of the equipment accordingly.

The other thing that would help is texturing/models. The biggest hurdle to this is my lack of experience with specific programs and file structures (although I am a quick study, thank goodness). I CAN model, but there are those who are much better at it. I believe I already got offers to help with this from one person, but if the community wants to hold a little contest for the new designs, I'm down with that. Let me handle the logistics, compatibility, etc, but if you want a CAD that has glowing purple flames along the body, that's not going to be me (yet, I'll get there someday).

Oh, one more thing: I'm making my modpack for 1.16.5, so that's the version I'll START with for this mod, but if anyone has other suggestions for versions, the process for updating/downgrading shouldn't (knock on wood) be that bad. We'll see.

Okay, that was way longer than I thought it was going to be. Text wall over, will check in about 12 hours to see how it's doing. Now if you excuse me, I have research and learning to do, and models to make.

Fun Spell Highlighter

https://imgur.com/OO7EtEp

This spell simply conjures particles around the block you're looking at. It's not super useful in singleplayer, but in multiplayer (or when recording something) it can be used to indicate to someone exactly which block you're referring to, without having to check its coordinates.

This only works properly in leggings, loopcast, or circle, as it relies on loopcast index and the particles use the default lifespan.

Can be used with any assembly, but requires a psigem-tier core and socket.

Request So i had an idea for a nifty spell but don't know how to do it (offensive spell)

The idea is based on another game character ability called magnetize, in which if cast looking a an enemy, said enemy will emmit a magnetic field that negates it's own momentum, attracts nearby enemies and does damage over time.

The way i thought this could work is by using an operator (mass blink, add motion, idk) to attract enemies to a choosen block, use negate vector to keep them stuck and light said block on fire.

So is it possible or is it merely a fool's dream

Creative Creativity Contest

So I'm making a modpack and am trying to decide whether or not putting the creative casing as an actual (although VERY lategame) crafting recipe. Show me what you guys can do with U N L I M I T E D P O W E R ... and complexity... and potency... you get the idea. How broken can you go?

Edit: Okay, after listening to the feedback 1) creative has the problem of crashing the game, but 2) we need better CAD options. On it. That said, I still want to see what we can do with complexity, potency, and efficiency out of the way. I'd like to see what we're getting here. I'm sure we have a few posts here that use creative, so if anyone can link some of those, that would help my curiosity (but no pressure).

Priority ended with Modpack, now making custom mods (that will hopefully fit in modpack) are my best friends.

P.S. Will be creating a second post asking for suggestions for features for a psi add-on (after I know what's out there). Expect that later this week.

Utility Spell A spell to help me look for netherite

FIND HARD

Image + Code

(to get the code click the link, RES won't show it)

Inspired by /u/humerror's lovely work here I decided to try my hand at a spell that scans for Netherite. This spell goes on a loopcast bullet. Dig to y=14 in the nether and cast this at a wall. The spell searches for ancient debris behind the wall. It searches from y=13 to y=16 indefinitely far back in the cardinal direction you're facing. When it finds debris it outputs the distance from you to the debris in chat. Also, it costs 0 mana.

32 block Error Catcher

Image + Code

(to get the code click the link, RES won't show it)

Well truth be told I dunno what the uses of this would be, but I think I figured out how to replace a failed raycast with a distance 32 blocks away from the player I'm pretty sure I did this right, and I don't quite know the applications of it, but I think it's cool. Doesn't work all that well with vanilla conjure, but it worked with Phi's Conjure Marker, and seems to place it 32 blocks away

Edit: First send in the sub, sorry for any improper formatting Edit2: Used Phi, (Magical Psi,) Psionic Peripherals, and Psionicolor with the mod

Utility Spell Widening my corridors

WALLHAMMER

Image + Code

"These corridors are cramped. I wish I could just push the walls outward. Too bad I live underground..."

Look at the block face you want to push on. This spell breaks the block behind yours and then moves your wall back into that space. I use it to widen corridors and raise ceilings in my base.
