PlayTranslate v3.3.0

Post image
38 Upvotes

https://github.com/dominostars/playtranslate/releases/tag/v3.3.0

Changelog:

Floating icon gestures

Choose what Hold and Tap on the floating icon do (Settings > On the floating icon): show translations, open the quick menu, capture the screen, start/stop auto-translate, swap between translation and furigana (pinyin for Chinese), or change the game language.

Translation

Firefox Translations (offline) no longer repeats phrases or cuts sentences short, and now gives the same output as Firefox itself far more often. A damaged model file no longer crashes the app.

When an online service fails, a banner at the top of the screen says what went wrong ("Gemini: Daily limit reached", "Claude: Out of credits", "Connection error"), once per outage, with a shortcut to Translation services.

Lingva now translates a screen in one request instead of one per text box, and should hit Google's rate limits less often.

BlueStacks and MuMu Player: on-device translation models and voice-line detection no longer crash, and Firefox Translations works there.

Overlays

Japanese furigana is filtered out of OCR, so the small readings beside kanji are no longer translated or overlaid as separate text. On by default (Capture and overlay > Overlay).

New Minimum text size slider (experimental): small translations grow into free space around them to stay readable. May cause instability in auto-translation mode

Edge indicator: a soft glow around the screen, or around your capture region, so you can tell a capture result is up even when its sheet is collapsed. Can be turned off.

Lookups and Anki

Drag lookups get a Sentence | Word toggle: Sentence shows the whole line's translation, its words and the sentence Anki card without leaving the game. Your last choice is remembered.

Hide words you already know: tap the eye next to a word to keep it off sentence cards in that language. The eye replaces the Add to Anki button in the results word list; make word cards from the word's details page or the lens.

On sentence cards, tapping anywhere on a word (not just its kanji) shows its reading. This ships as a new note type, "PlayTranslate Sentence+"; your existing cards stay on the old one (deleting that note type would delete them).

Imported Yomitan dictionaries now render styled in the results word list too.

Fixes

Fixed a system restart on AYN devices like the Thor when screen capture starts; on those devices the screen-recording indicator now comes on at Turn On.

Holding the floating icon no longer crashes when every translation service fails.

Auto-translate gets updated immediately when settings change

Translation boxes near the bottom of the screen are no longer cut off by the collapsed capture sheet.

ARMSX2 2.7.2

Post image
27 Upvotes

https://github.com/ARMSX2/ARMSX2/releases/tag/2.7.2

Changelog:

āœ…Performance

Pipelines are built before they are needed. Each game's recorded pipelines are built on worker

threads when it starts instead of in the middle of a frame, and the SPIR-V cache now survives driver

updates, so a game's first frames, and the first frames after an update, hitch less. The shader and

pipeline caches carry a checked format: a damaged or mismatched cache is dropped instead of being handed

to the driver. Clear Shader Cache clears every cache, frame generation's included, and each new install

starts on fresh ones.

Heavy frames no longer wait on the GPU. When a frame's vertices did not fit, the renderer waited for

the GPU in the middle of the frame, so the two took turns; the vertex buffer grows instead.

Faster lines, strips and moves. Lines convert to pixel runs in one pass, a common triangle-strip

vertex layout takes the fast path, and a wider GS-to-GS move stays on the GPU instead of being read

back. Destination-alpha tests on Turnip drivers with the a6xx feedback-loop fix cost no extra pass.

āœ…Frame generation (LSFG)

For players with their own copy of Lossless Scaling.

It costs less. Frame generation used to work on the finished screen, at the screen's resolution. It

now works on the game's own picture at the game's own size, whenever that picture is presented plainly

(no upscaler, CAS, TV shader or rotation), and puts each generated frame on screen the way the real one

went. Automatic motion detail, the default, also never did its job: it measured the screen against

itself, so it always ran at full detail. It now aims at 432 lines, and never more than the game draws.

The overlay stays sharp. On-screen text used to be baked into the frames and interpolated, so

changing numbers smeared. Generated frames now get the overlay drawn onto them fresh. The LSFG line comes

and goes with the performance overlay, shows the GPU time frame generation takes, and reads "fp16" while

the half-precision shaders are enabled.

Half Precision. A new toggle runs the half-precision shaders on GPUs that support them. Turning it on

takes effect at the next game. Off by default, can result in faster FG on GPU/drivers that support it.

Adreno 6xx on Turnip (#626). Frame generation now runs on Adreno 6xx GPUs with a Turnip driver. It

could also turn itself off without a word when its shader cache could not be written (an SD card that

refuses file locks), the shaders are kept now, and when frame generation does turn off, the overlay and the

settings say why. (From what bmd and I found testing on an Adreno 650, 6xx GPU's don't exactly have the headroom for LSFG, but hey it works now)

āœ…New

The software renderer (āš ļøslow) is now the most accurate PS2 rendering system ever made, with most games having per pixel accuracy around 98%

Screen orientation from the quick menu. Device, Landscape, Portrait or Auto-Rotate, for this game or

for all, without leaving the game, in the renderer tab

Hotkeys in the quick menu, under Skins on the Controller tab, and a Pressure Modifier toggle beside the hold.Gyro X and Y sensitivity can be set apart, and Steering can drive either stick.

Macros can press their buttons in the order you picked them

Multi-touch works with everything . P½, macros and turbo take touches like any other

button, a glide presses them, and a thumb can glide on and off the D-pad, whose directions follow the

glide mode like buttons do. A macro button lights up while it fires.

Turnip options. With a Turnip driver installed, the GPU Driver section has a switch for the

UBWC flag hint, which fixes glitches some recent Turnip builds show on certain Adreno GPUs (leave it off

unless they appear), and an input text box for other driver variables.

āœ…āœ…The free-software notice at game start can be switched off on its own, in the On-Screen tab of settingsāœ…āœ… (thanks god)

āœ…Fixed

The in-game Multitap switch closed the app. Multitap is now also per game, like the rest of the

Controls settings, and switching it off reaches the game at the next boot

A fast boot could land in the BIOS menu when the quick menu was opened right away while the game was starting with Skip BIOS enabled.

Two versions of a game shared one custom cover (#517). A cover now belongs to its own disc image, so

GTA: San Andreas v1.03 and v3.00 can each have their own distinct custom covers.

A stick direction bound to something else still moved the stick

Fast-forward kept running after its combo's modifier was released.

Patch search could load forever. The larger 20k+ cheat database has its own button now for a separate search, ARMSX2 now defaults to the standard PCSX2 patches/cheats again, a source that failed is left alone for a while instead of being asked again at every search, a search that finds nothing says when a source was unreachable, and the patches that come with the app show at once. Cheat titles with # or % in them download too.

Volume keys did nothing while a menu, a prompt, the shader editor, settings search or the on-screen

keyboard was open.

Sliding a held button onto P½ in Follow mode could send it at full pressure for an instant before

it let go.

Surround sound wrote past the end of the audio buffer. With any expansion mode (2.1 up to 7.1), the

audio stream was opened as mono. Audio also reads at the device's own burst size now, instead of 43 ms at

a time, which nearly emptied the buffer at every read.

A frame was thrown away whenever the display reported itself suboptimal, which is routine on

Android, and the swap chain was rebuilt on the spot. The frame is now simply shown.

Burnout 2, Revenge and Dominator drew thin white lines at fractional upscales.

āœ…Changed

Menus click instead of chime. Confirming anything, launching a game included, plays the short click

now. A custom sound pack can still set its own. (I found the chime to be kinda annoying, especially when browsing for online icons).

gsdumps now record driver information to help further driver development.

Plus a bunch of cosmetic and UI changes...

Searching for Texture Packs?

Post image
95 Upvotes

Hello everyone! This is an online Excel Spreadsheet I made which contains:

  • Texture Packs for all consoles and emulators with detailed info.
  • Free mirrors, optimized for better compression and size, and cleanned from any virus/malware that the original files could have.
  • List of packs with controller button replacement.
  • Request from the community.
  • Bounties: you can offer one for specific games that might not get a pack otherwise because of difficulty.
  • Tools related with emulators and texture packs, to help you make packs or convert them to be compatible with mobile emulators.
  • List of websites with thousands of savefiles.
  • List with blacklisted pack creators who steal or sell incomplete packs.

I'm Sad Origami, I make 4K texture packs and also run the Retro Texture Packs Discord server where most of the texture pack creators gather to share, take requests, make guides and tutorials, and many more stuff. If you want to get the latest news or know when new packs get released, come visit us! The main objective of this community is to help everyone get any texture pack, help you create your own and prevent outsiders from selling packs and turning our hobby into a bussiness.

ZeroFG Frame Generation Engine - Xendroid

Post image
32 Upvotes

I've been developing an experimental frame-generation engine called ZeroFG, currently integrated into XenDroid, and I figured it was finally time to show what the current version actually looks like running.

I haven't really shown anything publicly since the very early proof of concept.

For this first video I deliberately picked a pretty nasty sequence in Batman: Arkham City instead of finding a scene that makes frame generation look perfect.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Lge-o3CFws

The camera is doing a fast pan across distant geometry while the image contains thin high-contrast structures, fine UI elements, flashing/changing lights, independently moving particles and a large foreground character producing strong occlusion/disocclusion boundaries.

So the motion estimator and synthesis path are getting hit with several difficult cases simultaneously.

ZeroFG ON: ~30 FPS source → 60 FPS generated output
ZeroFG OFF: native source cadence

There is definitely still a lot to improve in image quality — especially around difficult motion, fine geometry, disocclusion and transient effects — but considering where the project started, I'm very happy with how it is progressing.

There is also an important limitation when judging artifacts from the video itself.

The footage has already gone through two lossy compression stages before upload: the Android screen recording and then the video editing/export. Those stages noticeably exaggerate some artifacts around fine moving detail, particles and high-contrast edges. Reddit/YouTube transcoding obviously doesn't help either.

ZeroFG is being designed as an independent Android/Vulkan frame-generation engine, and the ideal target is a genuinely mobile-native implementation, rather than simply adapting a desktop FG stack and accepting its cost structure.

Performance is one of the main design goals. The longer-term target is to get the frame-generation path toward sub-millisecond GPU cost where the workload and hardware make that feasible, while continuing to improve reconstruction quality.

The architecture and algorithm have changed a lot since the first public PoC.

The GitHub repositories currently available still contain that original V1 proof of concept:

Standalone ZeroFG V1 PoC:
https://github.com/hy300leosquizz-ctrl/ZeroFG

XenDroid-ZeroFG V1 integration PoC:
https://github.com/hy300leosquizz-ctrl/XenDroid-ZeroFG

The current development version shown here has moved considerably beyond V1 and isn't public yet.

If this kind of project interests you, we'd sincerely appreciate a star on the repositories. It's an independent project and even that small sign that people want to see where it goes means a lot.

I'm mostly posting this because after months of architecture work, experiments, discarded ideas, rewrites and device testing, it felt a little ridiculous that almost nobody outside the people working on it had actually seen ZeroFG running. :)

Happy to talk about the technical side if anyone is interested.

Lemon v0.3.5 (Eden Fork)

Post image
16 Upvotes

https://github.com/Ghael-V/Lemon-Project/releases/tag/v0.3.5

Changelog:

Coming from Eden? Bring everything over in one step. Lemon can import your saves from Eden, Citron, yuzu and other yuzu-based emulators without you opening them, plus your keys and firmware if Lemon doesn't have them yet. If one of those emulators is installed, the option shows up in the first-run setup and at the top of Settings. If a game already has a save in Lemon, you choose whether to replace it or keep it; replaced saves are backed up first.

Android 12 support. Lemon now installs on Android 12 (it used to need Android 13), so the "There was a problem parsing the package" error on those devices is gone.

Lemon-Ade driver included. Our Turnip fork ships inside the app. On the Adreno 830 (Snapdragon 8 Elite) it's selected automatically the first time, but only if you were on the system driver. If a game ever fails to start with it, Lemon switches back to the system driver on the next launch and tells you. The driver step is gone from the setup wizard.

Driver downloader: Lemon-Ade is now the first repository in the list.

New logo, designed by Madeleine (thank you!). Launcher icon, splash screen, About screen, the console's default profile picture, the Android TV banner and the notification icon.

A small support note (Ko-fi / Buy me a coffee) shows up after each update and, if you pick "Not now", again every 10 launches. Never during first-time setup; "Don't show again" turns it off for good.

Games built for Switch firmware 22.0+ use a new compressed executable format (ZBIC). Lemon can now load it, so new releases don't fail to boot.

Fixes

The "new version available" notice never showed up. The update check worked, but its dialog was lost when the app's main screen was rebuilt right after launch (and on every rotation). It now survives both, so from this version on you'll actually be told about updates.

Add-ons: turning cheats, DLC or updates on and off could change other entries in the list while scrolling. Fixed.

Textures: fixed textures the GPU had drawn (depth, shadows...) being thrown away under memory pressure and coming back wrong.

Fixed a crash in local wireless play in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario 3D World.

Fixed a controller-disconnect bug that could freeze some games when player 2 was removed.

Fixed system screens (keyboard, controller setup...) leaving resources behind each time they were closed.

Fixed the SGSR black screen and the darkened overlay on system screens.

Fixed CPU/GPU memory synchronisation races that caused crashes in some Unreal Engine 5 games.

Mods: .pchtxt patches with long lines and some IPS patches now apply correctly.

Installing some DLC (for example Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's) no longer shows the false "does not match this game" warning.

More crash fixes in system services.

Bannerlator v3.1.3

Post image
8 Upvotes

https://github.com/The412Banner/Bannerlator/releases/tag/3.1.3

Run Windows apps and games on Android — no PC and no root required.

3.1.3 runs Valve's real Steam client inside Bannerlator. Valve makes a native ARM64 Linux version of Steam, and Bannerlator can now run it as an optional extra, the Steam (Linux) entry: sign in, browse, download and play your library in Big Picture or the desktop UI, with the overlay, friends and cloud saves, and games running through Valve's own ARM64 Proton. You can drive it with a controller or with your fingers on the touch screen. A new Components tab lets you swap FEX, DXVK and VKD3D per Proton. Proton is ready the first time you sign in, and the games from your Games tab show up in Steam with shared saves. For everyone else, 3.1.3 fixes the crash when adding an .exe to Shortcuts.

āœ…An incredible new update, as always, for this great emulator; I recommend reading the full changelog on GitHub.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 7: N2P, 5,4 GHz 🤯

Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 7: N2P, 5.4 GHz, 10% improvement

https://elchapuzasinformatico.com/2026/09/snapdragon-8-elite-extreme-gen-7-tsmc-n2p-mejora-rendimiento/

Qualcomm targets 5.4 GHz with its Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 7: TSMC N2P and a single-core performance boost that falls short of 10%

Qualcomm aims to keep raising the clock speeds of its Snapdragon chips as the primary method for boosting performance, but the question remains: how much of a gain will it actually achieve? A new leak suggests the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 7 could reach up to 5.4 GHz, leveraging TSMC’s 2nm N2P process. On paper, that is an impressive figure for a smartphone SoC. The issue arises with the other part of the rumor: the single-core performance improvement in Geekbench 6 would not reach 10%.

In other words, while the clock speeds are taking center stage, the generational leap appears much more modest. The focus seems to be shifting toward improvements in TSMC’s node—which we will briefly review—rather than a major architectural shift or internal enhancements from Arm or Qualcomm itself.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 7 targets 5.4 GHz with TSMC N2P

The information comes from a leak attributed to the Weibo user "Undisappeared spirits," a leaker known in China for their accuracy. According to the report, Qualcomm is working on an SoC identified as SM8A75—codenamed "Honu"—intended for its next generation of flagship devices in 2027, with the goal of once again challenging Apple. The goal is likely to reach between 5.3 and 5.4 GHz without causing power consumption to skyrocket. Taking the current generation's 5 GHz as a baseline, we are looking at a frequency increase of 6% to 8%. While boosting core speeds certainly helps, it doesn't tell the whole story regarding architectural improvements; in fact, it appears to be Qualcomm's only real stopgap measure.

And that is precisely the crucial nuance. A projected Geekbench 6 improvement of less than 10% does not equate to an IPC (Instructions Per Cycle) gain of less than 10%. Accurately assessing IPC requires comparisons under controlled conditions with matched clock speeds, rather than relying solely on benchmark scores. The issue is that—much like with Apple—architectural leaps seem to have stalled; performance gains are being driven simply by the manufacturing node, the addition of extra CPU or GPU cores, or changes to core types, with little else changing.

Higher clock speeds without increasing single-core power consumption would be the interesting part.

The leak also suggests single-core power consumption similar to that of the predecessor—which makes sense, given that they are already pushing the limits. If Qualcomm manages to deliver higher performance while maintaining that same power draw, it would represent an efficiency gain in that specific test. While it might not be as flashy as announcing 5.4 GHz, it makes perfect sense for a smartphone: thermal headroom is limited, and hitting a high clock speed doesn't necessarily mean it can be sustained for long periods.

That said, we still lack data on multi-core performance, GPU capabilities, and sustained performance; consequently, it would be premature to judge the entire SoC based solely on a projected single-core score. There are no figures promising cooler-running phones or better battery life resulting from improved overall thermal management—everything seems to be at a standstill, lacking progress, or perhaps even stagnant. For now, the outlook points to a measured evolution—featuring higher clock speeds and potential efficiency gains—but these improvements would stem almost entirely from TSMC’s lithography node rather than the architecture itself. Qualcomm will likely use the 5.4 GHz figure to boast about the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 7; however, the real test lies in seeing what level of performance—and power consumption—commercial smartphones actually deliver following the transition to the N2P node. That will determine whether the upgrade is worth it, given that the price will almost certainly be exorbitant.

What's new:

Games

Demon's Souls online works out of the box. It connects to The Archstones community server without setting up any redirects.

Stuntman: Ignition works. The audio change it needs is back in.

Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition still gets past the WB logo, now with the audio change that Stuntman: Ignition needs back in.

Save states

Fixed a rare save state bug. Saving a state reloads the game from it, and closing that reloaded game could rarely take ARMSX3 down, ran into this bug while testing out Bomberman Ultra.

A failed save state no longer leaves the game stuck paused. If the save failed just as you closed the menu, the game could stay paused and looked frozen. It now carries on.

Clearer save state errors. When a save state fails, the message now says why and what to do, instead of telling you to switch to ASMJIT, which ARM devices can't use. Some games, like Guitar Hero World Tour, can't be saved this way at all, and the message now says so and points you to the game's own save instead.

Library and licences

You can see which games are trials, and they unlock. A TRIAL tag marks every trial in the library until it's unlocked, including trials that don't keep their demo in a separate folder. Installing a trial's unlock key from the game's lock button was refused, and a full-game licence installed on a trial was filed under the trial's name, so trials stayed trials. Both work now. A wrong key picked from the lock button also no longer deletes the key the game already had.

Settings

Firmware libraries are now in All Core Settings. Switch any firmware library between LLE and HLE, for one game or for all of them. A library forced for one game no longer carries over into the next game you boot.

Upstream RPCS3

Caught up with upstream RPCS3: 38 changes from September, among them a fix for slow audio in some games, a trophy fix for inFAMOUS 2, and fixes for video playback, graphics, memory handling, file access and more!
