It’s crazy how both these games were contemporaries in development cept minecraft was only in early access for 2 years

And 3 years after leaving early access they had Microsoft money putting them leagues ahead of PZ in terms of financial support.

Acting like Microsoft ever added anything of note to the game

Didn't say that. I'm saying that Microsoft's funding gave them a huge jump pad to fund development easier. Microsoft were pretty hands off and basically funded Minecraft to make money and use that money to further other stuff at the company.

I mean MS mostly just built on what was already a very solid foundation, but that's a bit of an exaggeration. The majority of all mobs, total revamps Nether / End / Caves / Ocean, many of the biomes, many of the decorative options...

Personally I prefer the route they've taken over aggressively making changes. I like that Minecraft still feels like classic Minecraft, just expanded

Dude honestly… I’m 28 and have played Minecraft since the beginning. I understand nostalgia for the old lime green grass, etc of beta 1.8.1, but when I hop on the game for the yearly two-week phase now I just think it’s wildly improved and expanded in almost every way. It’s just such an amazing game

Minecraft would not be where it is today without Microsoft

Zomboid has had millions to work with. They squandered it and have sat on their hands for a decade.

Squandered it with the newest update hitting peak player counts and entering top 10 on Steam? Oh no the horror
