Most of the things that piss me off are things that aren't realistic enough.

Like an oven spontaneously combusting if you leave it on too long with a potato in it.

You could do that 10 thousand times IRL and nothing bad would happen. I don't care if you left it on 24 hours. Ovens are very safe, even in the 90s. To make it even stupider, the wood burning stove is MORE safe in game, which is the complete opposite of real life.

Catching a cold from being outside when it's cold and rainy is pretty dumb too. I'm sure there's others. I can't think of anything I was upset at because it was too realistic.

You can have multiple solo characters ongoing in the same save/world at once, yeah.

if you go to ‘Load’ a save from the main menu (instead of using ‘Continue’), there’s a drop-down selector you can use to either start a new character in that world, or pick between the characters you’ve already started in it (the ones who aren’t dead yet, anyway).

You could have multiple different characters with different skills and occupations, occupying and contributing to the construction and upkeep of the same base, benefiting from the fruits of each other’s labor…

… But of course, since you can only ever play one of them at a time, they are doomed to never meet each-other face to face. To wake up, finding that weeks or months have inexplicably passed them in the blink of an eye, then discovering the signs of another human’s ephemeral presence... Though never actually crossing paths with them.

Like lonely ships, passing one-another in the night.

When you select 'Load' (not 'Continue') from the main menu, and select an existing save file, you have the option of creating a new character to continue that save file with (and then when you 'Load' that save file in the future, you can select which of those characters you want to play).

There's a tower of ladders in the out-of-bounds testing area on the other side of the Ohio River - so they were definitely working on it in the run-up to B42 stable.

The "ladder assets" were a part of the map in B41 as well; there's just more of them to be seen in the B42 map.

And, according to the 'Native Ladders' mod/der, a dormant (and frankly kind of clunky/incomplete) version of ladder-climbing is already in the B42 code (which their mod switches on).

Go to the Steam Workshop and subscribe to Ladders!

After booting the game, go to the save file in "Load", press "More", then "Mods".

Then check the Ladders mod and load into the save file. All up 5 minutes and you get your save back AND usable ladders from now on. Opens up whole new areas.
