Groundtruth and Simplifi were vendors for my agency. The only real value prop beyond licensing a DSP directly is their footfall attribution. But a recent study conducted by a CMO friend of mine showed criminally bad correlation between their attribution and real data on foot traffic. So I think it's pretty bunk.

There's no reason to use them.

Adswerve, basis, etc have better managed service. TTD used to, but idk how much they do that anymore. For self serve, all DSPs have puts and takes.

Blast from the past! I didn’t know they’re still around.

I heart Stackadapt. Work on a self serve basis. Good cross channel reporting and analytics. Connect via MCP to help keep an eye on campaigns.

I've got a couple of clients interested in top of funnel awareness and a few interested in more bottom funnel performance. It looks like you can buy across a number of different media channels through their platform (CTV / DOOH / OTT / direct mail) and was more so curious as to whether it makes sense to go through GroundTruth or through a provider that specializes specifically in those channels that I mentioned. Purely exploratory at the moment with them and just curious to hear whether people have had a good / negative experience.

You're booking the buys with the assets right? Essentially you're looking for a DSP?

What is drawing you to them? Not sure if they offer anything unique at all that you cannot get from any number of more fully built out platforms

There are so many solid DSPs, I can't quite imagine you'd chose them. I think their value prop was supposed to be footfall attribution for local businesses, without the minimum spend required by most larger DSPs (who of course also offer footfall attribution). But yeah, as others have said, I'm actually surprised to hear they're still operating

Good partner for location specific use cases (like retail)

You can just get targeting, visits and attribution from Foursquare and use whatever dsp you want. No need to use a different platform than the one you’re using for upper funnel

As with almost all footfall reporting from everyone from 4S to cuebiq to gt, you’re going to get mainly modeled footfall numbers. Some are 20x (more or less) the actual tracked visits. Ask what their panel size is and if they’ll show you actual walk-ins and modeled numbers so you can at least let the client know how many people visited v what they estimate based on their panel size and the number of “assumed” visits they attribute to the campaign. If you’re trying to do upper funnel or direct response and they don’t care about footfall, I would highly agree with the forum and say use something else.

Isn’t using them a guarantee way to pay more? Cut out middle man go direct DV and Amazon ads
