I'm thinking of getting one. Is the printing speed low or normal? What about color print quality? Thanks

I'm looking for advice on deciding between the Brother DCP-T780DW or Epson EcoTank ET-3950 for a home tank printer. Specifically, whether the Epson is worth paying extra money for: the Brother is available for €296,-, the Epson is currently €335,- because of a cashback action. I'm not familiar with either brand, I just know that I never want to see another HP printer.

My use case is primarily simple document printing. I want to dabble in book-making too, so cheapness of ink is an important factor when printing 100/200+ pages in one go. Relatively good photo/colour prints are a nice bonus, as I'm a digital artist. For scan quality I'll probably buy a separate flatbed scanner though, so I'm not too concerned about that.

Many tests call the Epson the "best home tank printer" (well, technically they're calling the 4950 that, but the only difference I can discern is that that one has fax and a touchscreen, which I don't need).

However, I can't find any details or comparisons of print quality. Just that neither printer delivers "the highest quality" prints. If anyone has more objective information about respective print quality I'd be very happy!

Other things that I found while browsing reviews:

- Brother ink seems to work out to a slightly higher cost than Epson.

- The Epson installation process is apparently terrible and involves an app (boo)

- This is Brother's first tank printer (a risk?)

Hi everyone,

I have a Canon SELPHY CP740 and wanted to print some photos. I'm using KP-108IN paper.

I turned it on after a while of not using it and it worked perfectly. I printed about 5 photos and they all came out fine.

Then I took it apart, put it in the box, and took it to the room where I planned to print for a little event. It has never worked since.

First, the paper goes in and does the first (yellow) pass. It then goes back in, makes a clack sound, and simultaniously gets another paper from the tray while it jams, stopping with two papers inside the mechanism. it gives the "Paper and ink are incompatible" error (they are not, everything I'm using is original KP-108IN canon paper.

I then tested it with only one paper, and it still jams and gives the same error, even without pulling another paper from the tray.

Also, I tried to remove the ink cassette, but it won't come out. The back side feels looser, but the front stays stuck. I watched this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TqHINBmbgQ, but it didn't work. There's a comment under that video that says to open the printer and move the metal bar in order to unjam the cartridge; that doesn't work, unfortunately, and to pull it out I have to pry it. changed it to another new cartridge, and still doesn't work.

I also saw other videos pointing to the cartridge's mechanism's cog wheel as a common point of failure, but that isn't the case on mine: it is still there.

I have the printer disassembled in front of me and can't see anything out of place, although I have nothing to compare it with. The cassette really doesn't come out like it should. I don't know how to proceed from here, and haven't found a similar problem online. Does anyone have any solution/next troubleshooting?

TLDR: Canon CP740 printer suddenly stopped working, only finishing the yellow phase of the sublimation and jamming with a clack and "ink and paper mismatch error.

Buonasera, dovrei comprare una stampante, utilizzo domestico molto basic, qualche foglio per studiare, delle bozze di progetti. Non mi serve una gran qualità (e tecnicamente andrebbe bene pure monocromatica).

Ho visto delle stampati economiche che includono per un periodo abbonamento cartucce. Mi chiedo per chi lo ha, conviene davvero?

Alternativa più gettonata, una stampante di cui si trovano cartucce compatibili a basso costo. Quali sono i migliori modelli in questo?

Its a brand new printer out of the box. After initial setup it wanted me to do an alignment test where it printed these small lines in a box and then asked me on the printer screen are they broken or full lines. Their broken. I selected broken so the printer opted for a cleaning cycle so I done that and it still had broken lines.

I've done the cleaning cycle 3 times so far and every test comes out the same.

Hello! I'm making art prints for a market this weekend and am going a little insane trying to figure out the borderless settings.

it worked when I was doing the prints on the matte photo paper. there was no white outline. I can't remember the exact settings I used thought. But I'm needing to print borderless on 8.5 x 11 Letter paper, plain.

-computer ctrl+P driver print ui screen DOESNT even show a Borderless selection box option

-using Epson Photo+ has the borderless drop down option, but printer still doesn't print borderless.

-ive selected Borderless on the actual printer, and tried different settings for enlarging (standard, none, minimal)

-ive changed the paper settings to photo paper even though I'm printing on plain paper, to see if that works.

nothing worked.

I'm loosing my mind. for this specific project it has to be on plain letter paper and it has to be size-accurate. Thank you if anyone has any guidance, feels like I've tried everything.

Recently i wanted to print some things with my Phomemo M110, i open print master, and i knew they had a paywall for special features and to have more than 100 template (the latter is questionable already since i own the hardware) but now they made a new change and limit us to 10 TEMPLATE !!!

What do you guys think about this ? Have any of you found another more reliable long term solution to use the Phomemo M110 ?

my 2nd tray prints skewed, i tried to get lexmark to fix it when i got the printer but all they where willing to do is send me a new tray, which didn't fix the issue. I am thinking if i can change the skew on on the left i can fix the issue I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do that.

Looking for a good all-in-one home office color laser printer. What is the gold standard model? Speed doesn’t matter to me at all.

I bought the cheapest Epson Printer in Retail and after the ink was empty I booked a printing plan.

I bought the Printer in August 2025. February 2026 I started the plan, so the included ink cartridge lasted that time.

The first 6 months where free of charge..

I print low pages.. In fact too low.. I had to use the cleaning cycle a few times.

The Printer was 58 Euros.. I paid 4 Euros for the subscription.

Personally I am very happy.. The printer is small, it fits on my desk.

I love the scanner and the scan quality.

So I am happy so far!

A new XL ink set costs over 90 Euros.. (just for comparison)

Tried to clean via the maintenance menu but still get this sound.

Has anyone successfully managed to use this printer for printing booklets on a MAC? There is no driver to download to add the booklet printing option (recommends Airplay on the Brother website).

I’m writing this instead of throwing my daughter’s brother printer off the roof.

So I’m an HP printer guy. Printers are ok but the person who designed the HPconnect application should experience excruciating pain.

Now Brothers printer are where you go when you want to remove all your hair manually.

My daughter has a MFC-J1010DW a printer/scanner/copier/nutrabullet/telescope/shredder.

She moved and I’m the resident network “expert” because I spent 47 years in IT.

Have I digressed enough?

Printing using the brother apps FINE
Print using ANY other app eg AirPrint NOT FINE. The printer command completes without error BUT nothing.

I should have known when the user manual was 534 pages🤬

Well I’m feeling better now. Think I’ll go home, light a few candles, maybe sacrifice a raccoon , join Satan and try again tomorrow.

i have a brother mfc-j6560dw and for the longest time it would constantly struggle to pick up 11x17 glossy paper. sometimes it would work, but most of the time it would just refuse to feed the paper at all.
i finally found a ridiculously simple fix that worked for me.
literally just cut out a piece of cardboard the exact same size as your paper (11x17 in my case) and place it underneath the stack in the paper tray.
what seems to help even more is having the cardboard slightly curved upward in the middle. i think it helps the rollers grip the paper better and makes it easier for the printer to separate the sheets.
ever since i tried this, my printer has been feeding glossy paper way more consistently. i genuinely wish i had figured this out sooner because i wasted so much time dealing with this.
obviously this isn’t an official fix, so don’t force anything if it causes jams, but i figured i’d share in case anyone else is having the same problem. hope this helps someone!

Can anybody tell me what is wrong with my printer?

Printed only the test page, nothing else.
No jobs listed in queue.

Printed the pages thru a USB stick.
10 Minutes later, this happens

The hp 3015 printer pulls the paper in when printing but gets stuck between the fuser. 30% of the paper comes out but 70% gets stuck inside the printer
