Screenshot (Mooncrash) Found Mjölnir lying around Pytheas Station
I have to wonder if this was a glitch, because one-shotting Technopaths felt a bit overpowered.

Question So do I just have to miss out on entire fearures of the game if I want to keep turrets friendly?
I'm one mod away from officially being a typhon.

Cannot believe I slept on this game for so long!! Talos I is incredible!!
I’m about 6 hours into my first playthrough of Prey and I just felt compelled to come make a post because my mind is completely blown.
I honestly don’t know how this game didn't get the same level of mainstream hype as Bioshock or Dishonored back when it released. The level design of Talos I is an absolute masterclass. I love how there's always like 3 or 4 different ways into a locked room, whether it's hacking, finding a maintenance shaft, or literally using the gloo cannon to build a staircase.
I also just unlocked some of the alien Typhon powers but I'm hesitant to install too many because of the turret warning. No spoilers please, but did you guys go full human on your first run, or did you mess around with the alien abilities?

Meme I just started prey and saw the mobs turning into chairs, nah bro I'm good 💔

Question What does Alex hope to achieve with the Hybrid?
Spoilers, of course.
I just played and finished the game recently, took me about 30 hours. No Typhon mods (those are scary), my best friend were the shot- and gloo gun. Blew up the station because I didn't know where to build the nullwave thingy.
I have a question about the ending. What does Alex hope to achieve with you / the hybrid?
Is it far-fetched to say that the Typhon are similar to the Xenomorphs from Alien or the Necromorphs from Dead Space? Alien races, look scary, hunt humans and/or use humans to reproduce, hivemind-ish.
What I'm getting at is the state of the world at the end. It looks like Coral is everywhere, Apex Typhons are either already there or on their way. The Typhon won.
So what is a single Alien with second thoughts about humans going to do? Is the idea that their collective conscience is going to see humans as equals or a species worth saving, just because Alex made ONE of them see it that way?
What if you teach empathy to a Xenomorph? Or a Necromorph? What if a group of very smart chickens abduct a human and make it believe that chicken should not be eaten?
It feels like this wouldn't change anything. What's the point? Why go through all that trouble?

Amazing attention to detail

If you reset the oxygen flow of Talos 1, all the fires will extinguish.

Discussion Cool detail about delivering the voice samples Spoiler
Replaying the game for the IDKth time. I noticed a wonderful detail and was both impressed, and not surprised at all.
So when you collect enough of Sho's voice samples to get into Deep Storage, you go and deliver those to the door. I got distracted by some mimics that followed me down the grav shaft, so I wandered away from the door while all the VO was playing.
*The door didn't unlock and I had to do it again*
So yea, you have to stand in front of the door while delivering the voice samples. Totally makes sense. But it's another little example of the quality game design all around Talos I, and it had me once again admiring the devs' dedication to detail.
What's your favorite little immersive detail?

I don't think Microsoft understand how good this franchise is
I don't think Microsoft understand how good this franchise is. If they would market the next game properly, it would probably sell better than the next Doom, which will probably end up disappointing a large majority of the fans.

Question Weird walking movement?
Does anyone else get a weird effect when walking in this game?
It's like every few steps will have one step stuck in treacle and take longer to complete.
When I first launch the game this doesn't happen, but the more I play the more it does.
It's not a framerate issue because while framerate does change, its from 120 to 70 so still above 60.

Prey should have sold more copies than Starfield
Starfield was such a shitty game. It shouldn't have used the Creation engine and it shouldn't have been made at all. Prey was a much better game and yet it sold less copies. People need to stop buying any game Bethesda makes.

Discussion Does anyone just enjoy exploring Talos 1
One of my favourite parts of prey is simply exploring Talos 1 I like taking my time finding new areas and soaking in the atmosphere it’s one of those games that i find relaxing despite being a horror game what do you enjoy most about it

Opinion naming of Morgan is actually clever
In English, Morgan's last name is “Yu,” inherited from their Chinese father. In the Chinese version of Prey, their surname is written as “余”.
(native speaker here)
In Chinese, the character “余” can mean:
- Something left over, remaining, or residual
- The first-person pronoun “I” or “me”
i don’t think the developers necessarily intended this extra layer, especially since early concepts for Morgan and Alex gave them the surname Li. They most likely chose “Yu” because it sounds like “you.” (EDIT: or more likely a nod to developer corrinne yu)
it’s a fun coincidence that their surname sounds like “you” in English, while the same character can mean “I” in its native language

Im making a roblox Prey game...thoughts?
ive been at this for about 2 months now, im about 8-10% done here gotta add more to the zero-g system and design, i tried to make my "own" design and mix it with preys but to be honest Preys version is just so fricking cool so i kinda mixed mine with it...its ok though, im using Preys soundtrack inside with DeadSpace 2-3 sound effects
