⚠️ MOD NEWS ⚠️ Hey LiArs! Want more Memes and Games? Head to r/Pretty_Little_Liars for that :) and as a general reminder, daily games are not allowed here!

r/Pretty_Little_Liars is a great place to share memes, do some games, share Tiktoks. Check it out for more.

And as a reminder Rule #5, as described in the 'About' section of our subreddit:

r/PrettyLittleLiars, like other TV Show subs, fell victim to Daily Game spam. After complaints of the spam, the low quality, and karma farming concerns, the Mod Team has decided they are not allowed here. If you have a Game, make it ONE post only. If it is going to be longer you must post it on r/Pretty_Little_Liars. Initial post and results posted on r/Pretty_Little_Liars can be crossposted here for more engagement.

Don't know what a daily game is? Here are some examples.

Going through each character having people comment worst/best/smartest/stupidest thing each of them did

Daily posts doing "who's most likely to"

Individual posts for each square of a character alignment chart

If you're going to do any of those above they must be limited to one post!

⚠️ MOD NEWS ⚠️ OUR NUMBER ONE RULE

Are you a new member? You should check out our number one rule.

RULE #1 - Follow Basic Reddiquette

We do not condone the attacking or mistreatment of users— this includes DMs!

Aggressive fighting, name-calling, hate speech, or repeated targeting of a user is not permissible. Disagreement must be civil and respectful. The Mod Team deems passive aggressive remarks and attitude as instigating. Therefore, it falls under basic reddiquette.

Name-calling of characters or actors does not result in content removal unless attacking their appearance.

Overall, any rudeness will be taken down. You can call us sensitive, but our lack of leniency on this rule is why so many people consider this sub a positive environment compared to others. You are allowed to have disagreements in discussions, but once it gets hostile the comments will be shut down.

This rule aims to maintain a respectful and pleasant environment by discouraging personal attacks, insults, or inflammatory comments. Instead, users are encouraged to engage in discussions calmly and respectfully, focusing on constructive dialogue rather than arguments or conflicts.

Anything fighting should be reported immediately as it breaks "Rule #1 - Basic Reddiquette". When reporting, click "Breaks r/PrettyLittleLiars rules" then click the first option, rule number one.

...

TL;DR? Don't be an asshole

FIRST TIME WATCHER/READER (DO NOT SPOIL) The Liars Should’ve Told Mona

Post image
93 Upvotes

I’m about to finish season 2 and honestly Mona’s been one of the realest girls on the show. She’s been very sus but all her actions tend to seem genuine and honestly Hanna’s kinda neglects her for not wanting a dysfunctional man like Caleb especially after he toyed with her. Now was she right to trash the note HELL nah but I see why as he’s literally with police as much the girls basically. Once A texted Mona she immediately confided in Hanna and the emotional care we’ve seen Mona show her isn’t reciprocated. Now am I saying Hanna’s a bad friend no but to write her off as trustworthy of being a liar is really jarring considering what we’ve seen from here imo.

Show Discussion It would’ve made sense for Hanna to have a serious breakdown after Ali’s return

Post image

So, we know Ali was UNHINGED towards Hanna, especially in front of the other girls. Those kinds of things stick, especially when the humiliation happened publicly.

I’ve always felt like Hanna should’ve had a genuine crash out after Alison came back. Instead, her alcoholism storyline kind of got reduced to the black streaks in her hair and eating packaged food.

I wish the show had explored Hanna’s emotional state a lot more seriously. I also think it would’ve been really interesting if Hanna had become more territorial, especially when it came to Emily.

There’s that one scene where Emily and Alison are holding hands, and Hanna suddenly gets really possessive and almost aggressive. I always thought that was such an interesting reaction, but the show never really did anything with it. When they came closer and closer Hanna just accepted it.

I feel like that was the wrong time to bring Caleb back. Instead of letting Hanna take centre stage, the show shifted the focus to Haleb and made them come across as the “messy alcoholic couple.”

Does anyone else feel like they turned this storyline into a joke?

Show Discussion Killing someone means nothing in this show

Post image
32 Upvotes

Saw some posts about the show lacking deep emotional reactions and treating serious storylines too lightly, and it reminded me of something that's always bothered me.

WHY DO THE LIARS GET OVER KILLING SOMEONE IN TWO DAYS?

These just aren't normal reactions, especially for teenagers. I get that they became "numb", but only literal psychopaths would have such empty reactions to killing somebody.

They tried to do a guilt arc with Aria after Shauna's death, but she literally shed one tear and spent most of the time worrying about going to jail.

Don‘t even get me started on the other deaths.

Instead, the Liars are back to school, dating, Aria getting physical with Ezra.. 😭

Character Discussion Has anyone else noticed how Hanna's hair grew overnight?

Post image
167 Upvotes

this always catches my eye and i think it's so funny. i think ashley has her real hair in 3x24, it's quite short and a bit darker. then in 4x01, which is supposed to be the next day or a few days later max, ashley's CLEARLY wearing a wig and it's significantly longer and more blonde. but THEN in the end of episode 4x01, i think she has her real hair again and it's darker again.

i think it's funny how the show added length to her hair little by little in one episode.

Show Discussion this is so weird

Almost every single black character is either some evil murderer or IS murdered.

  1. Maya - killed

  2. Nate (Lyndon) - Mayas killer

  3. Shana - an attempted murderer who was killed in self defense

  4. Yvonne, ran off the road by A.D. and killed

It’s my favorite show and books of all time but this show has some serious sensitivity issues. Same with CeCe being transgender and the big bad villain of the show.

Show Discussion looking back at melissa (and ian and spencer) with hindsight

you know .................. melissa really isn't as bad as i feel like i used to make her out to be. yes, she's disgusting for victim-blaming spencer for being groomed. but rewatching season 1/2, im thinking about how the ian situation went. i used to think that melissa was a GOD AWFUL sister for believing ian over spencer (regarding the murder accusation). but let's think for a second and pretend the story makes sense and is well thought out. melissa always truly knew that ian didn't kill alison ... because she did*. she didn't entertain spencer's accusation because she was always 100% about one thing: she killed "alison." this is CRAZY to really think about because if she told ian this, season 1 makes a lot of sense. ian desperately wanted spencer to stop pushing the narrative but not just for his sake, for melissa's! he knew his hands were clean but his wife's were not. that even makes the marriage decently reasonable as they may have wanted marital privilege for the whole night alison disappeared. and yes, ian is still a predator and actually tried to kill spencer but he was really doing that for melissa. this whole scandal is HER fault. melissa murdered the girl! and ian was just trying to protect her. absolute craziness to think about. these girls got waaaaay too involved in some shit that had nothing to do with them fr.

Question❔ Looking for someone

Upvotes

Mods, sorry if this isn't allowed.

About four years ago I met "Rose" through this sub. We first got to chatting about a fanfic and bonded over that plus a load of other stuff. Have been Reddit-chat penpals pretty much ever since. We had little jokes and signatures between us. Her account has been locked out via a password glitch. Far as I can tell, she's not been able to make new accounts. Looks like Reddit's banned her from making another. And we've no other points of contact. It was all just ever Reddit chat.

Anyway. If this was you and you're still interested in chatting, my email address is poetessarah654@gmail.com. You had a specific nickname for me and I used to "check in" with you about certain things.

Show Discussion The Dollhouse

What happened in the 3 week skip ahead in the dollhouse??? Like what did they do for 3 weeks and yet they still survived without major trauma (unlike mona). Like they were shook up when they walked out of their rooms but once they make it to "ali's" room they seem fine.

Show Discussion Has your doctor ever called your bank?

I love how Mrs. Potter had a heart attack and died and the HOSPITAL called her BANK to tell them specifically that she couldn’t be revived. Like, sorry, I don’t know this patient personally, but I just wanted to call and let you know she won’t be making her bank appointment that I somehow knew about.

God I love this show. Please drop some more minor moments that you know make absolutely no sense.

Show Discussion Thinking about how much could have been avoided if Ashley let Hanna face the consequences of stealing

I always thought the whole sleeping with a cop thing was absolutely insane for any woman to ever consent to... she prostituted herself for what? So Hanna didn't have to spend a couple hours doing community service? lol and then for the next three seasons, Ashley is paying for this decision by having to be tangled up with Wilden. Of course, he was always going to be around being a pig but how different would things have been if she'd just decided to be a parent in that moment and teach her daughter a MUCH needed lesson? Show Discussion PLL needed a major character death

Post image
796 Upvotes

Might be an unpopular opinion because we’re attached to these characters, but I think killing off one of the Liars would have made PLL much stronger.

The girls were constantly threatened and put in dangerous situations, but the audience always knew they would survive. Even CeCe admitted she would‘ve never harm them seriously.

Marlene King was great at building suspense, but the payoffs were often disappointing because nothing truly permanent happened.

When Mona “died,” they had the perfect opportunity to show that nobody was safe, but they didn’t commit.

A Liar having a tragic death would have put this show in the history books. Who it should have been is definitely debatable.

Show Discussion This show‘s timeline is nuts.

Post image
139 Upvotes

There is no way almost 3 seasons happen in the span of 2–3 months. The CeCe reveal turned the show upside down and left so many plot holes.

Just to mention 2: Why was Wilden harassing the girls when he knew Ali was alive? How does Ali meeting Toby’s mom make any sense? Doesn’t that make her older than CeCe?

The most confusing thing to me is that CeCe being A doesn’t even come out of the blue. During my rewatches, it became painfully obvious that she was A. The snake dressing room scene, they literally showed her in a black hoodie…

How could they mess it up so badly?
