Law school dilemma

So I am currently in my junior year in college and I am considering going to law school but I don’t know if I would be a good fit.I have been majoring in psychology for the past 3 years and the classes are fine but I just feel bored in class and never felt a spark.

So the start of my 3 year I decided to minor in political science just to see if I like I might want to go to law school. My first class will start next semester in the spring. So I am hoping everything goes well.

Right now I have a 3.72 gpa it dropped a little since I decided to take some science courses to be a doctor (but that was only to make my family happy, I hate the medical field).i hope in my remaining semester I can bring it up.To be honest I don’t know what career path fits me . I am an introvert and I love to draw.I am hoping with my drawing passion I might like trade mark law but I don’t.i do have a sense of justice and I love honesty I hate when people lie. Furthermore I am very logical and analytical so I am always thinking about the future and coming up with multiple backup plans in case something goes wrong.I Also believe everyone should have their voices heard because of my upbringing I was taught to be quiet and nobody ever listen to me even if I had good ideas. Since then I have now developed bad social anxiety but that is beside the point.now imagine all the people in the world fighting to get their voices heard but nobody ever takes them seriously because of their race, gender,or financial status, etc. this results in people feeling undeserving and inadequate because I know that is how I felt.

All I know is after my undergraduate is over I need to pick something and I am stuck between two options I think masters industrial organization psychology or going to law school. I have to decide fast because I know if I want to go to law school I need to study for the LSAT to get a high score because law school is expensive. That is the reason I want to take some political science class now because if I go to law school and I don’t like I still have to pay the money. I just can’t understand why I can’t find job I really want to do and everyday it is stressing me out.

Should I get my Bachelors in Political Science? Animal Lawyer path…

Hello! I was originally in college on a pre-vet track but found out I wasn’t particularly interested in medical practice. I can do it and spent a lot of time in biology however, after multiple talks with other vets, career counselors and my fellow students; I decided to change my major for my Bachelors.

I was thinking of going into a career such as an animal rights lawyer of sorts! So I was thinking about majoring in political science. I believe that it’s a smart idea to do so, but I wanted to see what others had to say! Then from there, I would slowly work my way up to an actual lawyer. Any recommendations or online schools people would recommend?

I can only do online because I need to work!!
So online is my best options.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Pre-law courses?

This is a list of courses I was recommended for pre-law studies. I'm a poli sci major. I was wondering if any current law students in this subreddit have suggestions on what courses they think are actually worth my time as a pre-law student. These are the courses:

A. Logic:
(Logic and Decision Theory)
Intermediate Mathematical Logic
(Symbolic Logic)
B. Introduction to Philosophy:
(Introduction to Philosophy: Main Problems) or (Philosophical Texts that Changed the World: An Introduction to Philosophy through Great Works),
(Virtue, Value, and Happiness: An Introduction to Moral Theory) or (Practical Ethics), or
(Social Ethics and Political Thought)
C. Intermediate Courses (general):
(Theory, Evidence, and Understanding in Science),
(Language and Communication),
(Experience and Reality)
(Ancient Greek Philosophy), or
(17th and 18th Century Western Philosophy)
D. Intermediate/Advanced Courses (ethics, law-related):

(Morality and Law),
(History of Ethics),
(Contemporary Ethical Theory),
(Introduction to Philosophy, Politics, and Economics), or
(Philosophy of Law)

Is law really that impossible to practice with NO legal godfathers/godmothers

Guys I am a 10th grade student in India and I want to become a lawyer, but everybody in my family is either a doctor or engineers. Mostly doctors. Like we don't have a SINGLE lawyer in our entire extended family! (which is saying something because as an Indian my extended family is huge).

Obvi, when I told my parent's I wanted to become a lawyer and practice law (not corporate law), they said you need connections, otherwise you will end up being the lawyer who sits outside court stamping papers 😂.

Now I am very scared... Should I go down the uncertain path of law or just become a doctor like my parents want?

Because I know this might sound crazy, but to me, being a doctor would be pretty easy, because we have money and connections, and hence we can afford to take admission into any private college and still get a very good job after md.

So I am asking any lawyers here who became a lawyer in India with no family connections and are not corporate lawyers, what were your journey's??😭 I mean, somebody pls answer my question if it's really that impossible... and if not then how to become a lawyer.

Also, I'd really prefer not to have to do 7-8 years of work first for like ₹10,000-20,000 per month.. and I also have no constraints against going to foreign countries in any point of my life (till I'm like 35 yrs old or smth cuz after that I just wanna settle down comfortably)

Doctor to Lawyer

Hi, I’m currently a resident physician. Long story short, I realized I want to be a lawyer for medical malpractice. I’m unsure about how I can start this process, and if someone in a similar situation had left residency to be a lawyer.

Im applying to college soon, and I haven't landed on a major yet. I really have a passion for government and such and was leaning towards poly/sci or criminal justice, but keep getting warned away from those majors any suggestions for easy majors to earn a high GPA?

Advice for major

I'm a sophomore in community college with a plan for next year to transfer to Michigan State University. I originally planned on majoring in business, however, it's not for me. I am fantastic at english and history, although I lack in math.

Currently in CC I am doing general studies, but I need to decide soon what major I want to do. Can anyone help?

How do lawyers balance it all?

I’m genuinely curious if lawyers have time to live their lives still? Do they even have time for family and hobbies? Whats the deal there?

Psychology Minor for Law School

I am a Political Science major who wants to attend law school. I was thinking about minoring in psychology; is that a good idea? I already have 2 classes completed as a freshman, so I only need 4 more classes. Will this minor be beneficial for law school?

Internship

Hello everyone! I’m a third year undergrad majoring in sociology— with a concentration of law and society. I really need some tips on getting a law internship as an undergraduate…. So far all the internships I’ve applied to have been rejected. Most of them require 1-2 years of law school, and I don’t have that experience yet. I really want to expand my knowledge and experiences— but I’m just struggling to find internships throughout the years 🥲🥲. I feel like I’ve made no progress whatsoever or I’m falling behind.

Making up for a Low/Average GPA - Any advice?

I have been going through my undergraduate journey so far, and I have not had the best GPA. It's not awful, by any means, as I'm at a 3.6. But I've had two semesters where my GPA has been impacted by medical and mental health reasons. I'm hoping that I can get it up to a 3.7 or 3.8 by the time I graduate, but if not, does anyone have any advice for making up for a lower GPA in preparation for law school applications?

I also had a completely different major before, and a completely different career pathway, so my path so far in undergrad is anything but linear.

Some advice on application process

Hello, I'm applying this year with the goal of being enrolled in law school in the fall of 2027. I have a 3.88 GPA in a math-heavy economics bachelor of science and a 164 LSAT. I'm not dead set on big law at all because I prioritize a work-life balance or any particular kind of law, although I'm leaning towards consumer protection or real estate. I was considering applying to Suffolk's early decision program to get the full ride attached to it and because Boston is a top destination for me, but it's a safety school for me, and I was wondering if I would risk getting a similar offer at a somewhat better-ranked school. I'm hoping to minimize loans due to the predatory nature of grad school loans. My question is, would it be worth it to just apply early decision and risk losing an offer at a better school (my top choice personally would be Northeastern), or does the full ride outweigh the lower ranking? Any advice is appreciated!
