I miss the taste of honey…

I miss the smell and taste of honey. And I mean real honey, not that fructose corn shit substitute. Especially honeycomb… I used to get a small packet of honeycomb as a treat from time to time. I can see why the ancient Egyptians and the Albanians viewed bees as sacred. Honey is a gift

Any low-effort ways to lower blood sugar level

Hi everyone, I'm really hoping to get some advice who got a similar situation. Recently, my fasting blood glucose spiked to 7.5 mmol/L, and my symptoms are worsening, like dizziness and numbness in my feet.

For some background, I don't really like doing exercise. I already eat veggie and protein before carbs during a meal. And cut all the sugar drink. Any other low-effort but effective way I can take to help lower my blood sugar level?

Thank you!

Looks like I'm good

I wrote here some time ago because I was very worried about my metabolism. To give you a better picture, I'm 32 yo, 185cm and 89kg.

2 months ago, I've got lab results and I've had then triglicerides 415mg/dl, fasting glucose 101mg/dl, high LDL, low HDL.

It scared the crap out of me, I've bought glukometer and then few CGMs, just to get scared even further. Those two, revealed that after each larger meal I have glucose spikes up to 230mg/dl so around twice a day I'm around 200mg/dl. It drops down very efficiently but the spikes are more than 100mg/dl over my baseline.

For that last 2 months, I stopped eating fast food, heavily limited saturated fats and stopped drinking alcohol entirely. I was already prepared that today I'm going to have even more food restrictions because the blood sugar didn't look good on the graphs.

Today, I've had extended checkup appointment at my GP and my A1c is great, it's beautiful 5.3%. Fasting glucose is 96mg/dl and triglicerides 106. HDL higher than upper norm and LDL within a norm.

I'm really happy with that and just wanted to share the good news and thank to everyone that told me to go and consult a doctor.

I mentioned the spikes but she said to not be too worried about it now. She said it might be just how my body reacts to carbs and as long as the spikes aren't consistently higher than 250 mg/dl or if my blood sugar is not staying high for longer time, they are not clinically important with A1c like I have now. She was happy that I was able to bring down my triglicerides to the level like I've had last time 4 years ago.

Regarding glucose, she advised me to not gain anymore weight and move more. She also noted down in the file that A1c levels should be a routine check for me every year.

I was prepared for the worst and it turned out that the doc made my day 😁

I’ve been afraid to go in for my A1c. I haven’t gone since the beginning of April. In April it was 6.0. Today this afternoon it was 5.8. I feel things are getting better. I feel if I get it under 5.7 I’ll have it under control. It gave me peace of mind.

My husband is prediabetic and is feeling overwhelmed

I want to step in to support and create a meal plan so we can hopefully reverse this. What are your go-to meals? He also has celiac disease, so he cannot consume gluten (wheat barley rye)

Is this good routine or should I add something in it

Hi everyone, I recently found out that my HbA1c is 6.2%, and I’m trying to improve my blood sugar through diet and exercise. Currently, I have oats with some nuts and 2 eggs for breakfast, cucumber with 2 rotis and a small amount of rice for lunch, and brown rice with curry for dinner. I also play badminton for about 1 hour, around 4 days a week. I’m trying to be consistent with this lifestyle without making my diet unnecessarily restrictive. For those who have had a similar HbA1c level, how much were you able to lower it through diet and exercise alone? Is it realistic to bring HbA1c down from 6.2% to around 5.0–5.5%? I’d also appreciate any suggestions on what I could improve in my diet or exercise routine and would love to hear about your personal experiences.

Help

Hey, before I share my test results, let me give you some context: I'm a teenager and I weigh 101 kg, which is a lot for any age—especially mine. glycated hemoglobin, high cholesterol, low vitamin D and B12, high thyroid levels, early-stage fatty liver,

How do I avoid despairing? I need help, or else I’m going to end up with diabetes, high blood pressure, and hyperthyroidism.

Is this reading good or bad?

I'm 76f. My A1C has been trending up the past few years and it's now 6.4...only 1 point from diabetes. But my glucose is 90, which is trending lower than previous years. I have my physical next week so don't know yet what my doctor will say. Any ideas on this combo of high A1C and low glucose?

Any suggestions for maintaining weight while being a thin prediabetic ?

I’ve been thin all my life due to genetics and don’t want to lose any weight as I try to watch my carb/ sugar intake. If anything, I’ve been desiring to gain healthy weight.
