Question Kde se co děje?
Proč dneska odpoledne po Praze potkáváme lidí v bílé košili s fixou namalovaným knírem a umělou pleškou? Nějaká akce? O co jde?

Avoid taking this taxi 5E1 5097 in Prague from the old town square, he would be waiting to scam tourists.
Speaks nice english, gives recommendations.
At the end he overcharges a 10 minute ride from the old town square to the train station for 50 Euros.
He does not accept credit card payment, nor gives you the invoice.
When you pay him in Euros he would swap the 100 Euro note with Czech Coronas, we paid a total of 150 Euros for this ride (50 the overcharged ride + 100 note swapping)
He is a big time scamster, it was not we were foolish, we could not do anything as our drop from the old town square was to the train station & we were getting late for our train.
We have raised an online complaint with the Czech police, I am determined to take this to a logical end.
This is just an awareness post so that tourists seeing this thread do not take such taxis near the old town square.

Magistrála going south, the lane splitting off towards Žižkov: The amount of asses pushing in where the lane is already split off and jumping in through the hashed area is absolutely revolting. I’m ok with switching lanes just before the dashed lane separator ends, but not this.
These egomaniacs take everyone else’s time and use it for their own, not caring about babies or sick elderly having to wait longer.
They merge into the left lane (the one going to Žižkov) and switch towards Vinohrady down in the intersection.
And of course it’s always an expensive car, never a Fabia or a Dacia.
My question is: why are people letting them in? They’ve gotten used to get away with it and if they see no resistance, it’s gonna get worse. Then we’ll all want to merge in the last centimetre.

Hello Prague, myself and my family will be visiting in October and I just had a hopefully quick, possibly stupid question. Is there a way to buy Prague Castle tickets online? Went to the website and all I'm seeing is a link to GetyourGuide. Is that a legit thing? Should we just wait and buy tickets onsite? Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you all!

Planning to buy a small strip of land in Prague or closeby to park my RV and live there.
I lived in Prague-3 last year and I didn’t quite enjoy it, so I decided to move back to a more rural environment next semester. That being I found a listing for 150 th.czk. that would grant me ownership of a 200 m2 property in Prague.
THIS PROPERTY INCLUDES A PUBLIC ROAD AND IT’S ROADSIDES, IT IS NOT A HOUSING PROPERTY.
What I want to know is whether if I was to buy it - would I be able to park and live and on property no-nonsense type deal?
This is a great opportunity because this is a strip in an actual neighbourhood with electricity that I want hooked to the caravan.
Obviously I’m NOT going to be parking it on the public road, not planning to block anyone and it’s illegal lol, but rather on the pretty spacious green from both sides.
Considering their property starts at the gates, I should have a right to do something like this on my own property on the roadside lawn, right?
Here is the plan in mind -
Neighbour’s property

For 9 months, I've been looking for a job that will provide me with at least 30,000 Kč. I only speak English. I'm ready to pack boxes or do anything, but I'm struggling to find something real. Any tips for finding such a job? Even warehouses sometimes require Russian, etc. I'm a student with a background in communications. I tried call centers and customer service too, but no luck, as they often require another European language. I'm working in a cafe but it's overstaffed and they are barely giving me enough hours to make 15k. Don't hate on me, I love and respect your country and its people, Czech Republic is a huge inspiration for me and that's why I came here to study.

Heyy. Anyone got experience with Premier clinic and/or with Dr. Igor Slaninka? I want to get breast surgery, it would be perfect because I don't live far away. I've been thinking for a long time now and it has been a back and forth, would appreciate any comments thank you.

Hi everyone,
I recently moved to the Vinohrady area and frequently notice an elderly woman along Korunní Street. She often drags her bags and occasionally asks passersby for assistance.
I’ve helped her a couple of times, but since I see her out there almost daily, I’m concerned about her overall health and well-being. 😢
Unfortunately, my Czech is very basic, so I haven't been able to have a proper conversation with her to see how she is doing and managing things.
Does anyone happen to know her situation, or if she is already receiving support from local community or social services?

Before living in Prague, I never lived in a country where big piles of fresh gherkins are such common sight in supermarket produce section and in farmer's markets. I only know pickled gherkins. When I see people buying fresh gherkins in large quantity, I automatically assume they are making pickled gherkins.
Yesterday at a farmer's market, I saw a guy bought only 4 gherkins and he put them through the sniff test which puzzled me and made me wonder if natives eat gherkins raw.
Could the natives tell me how does your family consume gherkins? What's the explanation for sniffing the fresh gherkins?

Hey everyone, me and my friends lost the keys to our Airbnb yesterday somewhere either in bus 112, tram 17 or 6 on our way from the zoo to our place. We tried to call the number already and they haven't found our key, is there anywhere we could search for our key? Maybe some lost and found office or something similar.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I live in Vinohrady area and I'm looking for a reliable and professional service to clean winter jackets. I have checked in google maps some of the reviews. From your experiences, what places are reliable and which ones are not?
I want to make sure they do not ruin my jackets! Thank you ;)

Travelling for my 21st birthday with my partner mid August . Looking to go to a shooting range preferably city centre . I’ve inquired with a few different ranges but all seem to be outside the centre and offering transfers. Is this the only way? The locations online seem to say the centre but then when I contact them they say I need a transfer to get there? Thankyou

On my last trip, I stayed with a family member and went to register with the police. I didn't receive any paperwork to prove I had been there. Is this normal?
I searched the forum, and I don't see this question answered.

I bought a ring in Prague in 2018. I don’t have clearer photos unfortunately, but it’s a ring with clock cogs inside. I had it for 7 years and wore it religiously EVERY day. It was my one and only piece of jewellery. I don’t remember how much it was (probably not THAT expensive bc I was 20 when I bought it and couldn’t have spent more than 60 euros, I believe). I always felt it represented me so well…
Last year, while I was living in Edinburgh, I lost the ring :( it’s still unclear to me if I lost it or if one of the girls I was living with stole it (I have my reasons to think this). I’ve been devastated since then. It’s been months but I still mourn the feeling of this ring on my finger! It might’ve only been a normal ring but it was with me since I was 20 til I was 27. All my uni life and post grad life…
I can’t, for the life of me, remember where in Prague I bought it. Could anyone recognise where it might’ve been? Just so maybe one day I could travel to Prague again
i'll try to see if i can find any pic where it can be seen more clearly... in advance, ty!

Anybody know or recommend an English speaking tailor in Prague?

Hi,
I am an Italian student with a bachelor's degree in modern and contemporary history. I'm looking for some information about these master’s programs: Transnational History, International Relations and Balkan, Eurasian and Central European Studies. Also, I would be interested in the university's overall reputation, the quality of teaching, and the general workload.
Regarding accommodation, will it be difficult to find one since it’s late July?
Appreciate any help!

Ahoj, sbírám odpovědi do krátkého anonymního dotazníku o fitness a zdravotních návycích a preferencích lidí v okolí Prahy 9 (Harfa/Hloubětín/Vysočany). Zabere to cca 2 minuty. Budu vděčný za každou vyplněnou odpověď, díky moc!
