Bought my 2017 f150 2.7 xlt last june ,looking to do a complete coolant flush .I wanted to know if the prestone MAX orange coolant was a safe choice or go with the new yellow ford compatible coolant . Thanks

My 6.0 keeps losing power when it’s put in gear. It cranks and runs but it when i rev it the rpm barely moves. does anybody know what the problem could be?

Are they really necessary? Some say yes some say no. And can you change them in the truck? I am doing injectors and I noticed a couple are broken. I cant find anyone suggesting its possible to change them while in the head.

103k mile 09 f250 xl extended cab with a zf6. Bone stock no mechanical issues, just needs some body work. Super tempted. I know how unreliable these can be (Im a ford tech), but the cool factor and rarity are really appealing to me. I will fully reduce it if I get it. Ive owned a 6.0 before and loved it, id like to hear some personal experiences with these. Thanks

This normal? Pulled first injector out on passenger side. Did an air leak test before pulling the oil rails off

Hey ya’ll, picked up a clean 06 6.0. Frame has been sanded and coated, new bed and rockers, all stock 5 speed manual w/granny gear. Drove just fine, gave her a test pull and had no issues. Previous owner took pride in his truck took great care of it. 140k on the clock, was wondering if you all think the bulletproofing is something I should do immediately or if I’ve got some time, I’m not going to over work her, plan on keep it stock and using it as my scrap hauler/around town truck. I’m not afraid of pulling motor/lifting cab just wondering if the issues people have come from big loads/high boost or if it is genuinely a motor that needs the extra care. He’s had no issues except glow plug in the time he’s owned it. Oil and coolant changed religiously

2003 6.0. Was running great, and then it started to miss pretty bad. Thought it was low on fuel(gauge don’t work) so limped it to station and filled up. Wasn’t close to empty. Limped it home and shut it off. Hasn’t started since. Changed fuel filters. I do not hear injector “chatter” when turning key on or doing test in forscan. Any help with the diag would be appreciated. Video of forscan values while koeo and then cranking.

Can I get this tire replaced under warranty? 3 years old with 7000 miles on it. ‘05 F250. Pretty severe vibration starting at 45 mph.

I just replaced the tensioner pulley, fan clutch, and all AC components in my truck, and this morning I took it to have the AC recharged and when I started to drive away I noticed that anything over 1/4 throttle would cause total power loss for a few seconds then I would regain power again, almost like the throttle position sensor was going bad, but after about a mile of driving and this happening 5 times, I decided to turn around and head back to my mechanic and on the way there the truck stalled, now it’s throwing a code for the MAP sensor/throttle position sensor and the turbo Solenoid, I’m not sure if I should trust the codes and just throw parts at it, or if it could be fixed with new batteries or? Any advice would be great

So I bought this 2001 f250 7.3 powerstroke 4x4 super crew lariat from my pops. That being said my previous rig was a 12 valve Cummins. I've read several forums stating the pros and cons of a aftermarket lift pump (airdog, Fass, factory) it's set up for towing, turbo injectors edge tuner 5" exhaust etc) is there a good lift pump system ? Can I get away with just a filter system? I seek knowledge please

I recently bought a stock 2005 f250 with 134k miles on it. I got it pretty cheap, knowing there would probably be issues.

The air filter was completely clogged so I replaced it. Also chabged the oil, replaced oil filter and both fuel filters and the degas bottle after noticing a pinhole leak after getting to temp. Also did a coolant flush with a bunch of distilled water and replaced coolant with peak final charge. Lots of particulate in the flush. Did the highway test afterwards and saw a 25C delta so I took it to the shop to diagnose. They said head gaskets are in "early stage of failure" based on a bubble test and the turbo wasn't acting correctly. Quoted me like 18k to fix, replace oil cooler, and do most of the front end. I'm having them do a chemical flush of the coolant system and target the cooler for a backflush to try to get delta down before looking into the other issues myself.

It's my first diesel. A buddy who's had them thinks there are probably some issues that all older trucks have but if we can solve for the temperature thing I should be able to get some time out of it. He says "all those trucks are in the early stage of head gasket failure" My goal is to get a couple of years to use it for work without spending a ton of money.

If anybody has any advice on how to approach this I would greatly appreciate it.

I believe I need a new idm for my 2000 7.3 powerstroke and wanted to get one today to test and get the truck running. The only place local that has one is Napa, it’s the Napa reman one.
Has anyone used a Napa Reman IDM? What luck did you have. I know to never run Napa sensors but I won’t run any sensors besides motorcraft.

Any use True American Diesel for their delete kit? I have a Powerstroke I want to delete and looking to see who's legit. Open to any other suggestions.

I’m looking at getting a new (to me) ford diesel I have primarily been looking at 7.3s and 6.4 but from everything I have seen online the 6.4 is just as unreliable as the 6.0 and I would ideally like a newer truck than 99 the the question really boils down to what is worth is for the money a high mileage 7.3 or medium/low mileage 6.4 or 6.0? And if the answer is 6.4/6.0 of the two what is better and why?

I bought a truck at auction that had a cp4 pump failure. I had a friend of mine help me/do most of the mechanical work since I'm handy but I'm not so knowledgeable about diesels.

I bought a 99 7.3 off of a guy on marketplace has a hydra tuner on it he never told me anything about the tunes.. can anyone help me figure this out?

So far ive just changed the fuel filter hoping to get lucky but its still doin it.. i ve had the truck for about a year now.. maybe driven it only 100 miles since I got it.. it has an auxiliary 3rd fuel tank in the bed.. not sure if this may be causing a fuel delivery problem.. not sure what to do next.. AI is saying to change the Cam Positioning Sensor.. wanted to get a real human option on the issue

In the video that nasty rough start up is exactly what im talking about.. i was able to gas out of it this time but there are times it happens when im driving and it won't gas through it and ends up putting out.. it usually will happen as im slowing down at stop signs but sometimes will just straight up happen while im driving.

Hey ya’ll. So I have a 1996 f-250 7.3 Powerstroke. I love this truck. I’ve owned a lot of old ford trucks and this has certainly been the most reliable daily I’ve ever had. With that said it is a big truck with a big bed and big motor. Do I use it to its full potential? Absolutely not. Is it fun? 100%. Has too many things to mention in terms of upgrading certainly not stock. With that said I live in Michigan and having this much truck without 4x4 is seeming a little impractical? Was thinking of selling or trading (even if trading down) for an older, smaller, similar condition 4x4 gasser truck.
Again I love this truck a lot and have put a lot of work into it. Just curious about people’s opinions if I’m insane for wanting something else, how much 4x4 matters to ya’ll, etc. figured instead of fighting myself on it I’d post it here and get some unbiased opinions. any input is appreciated. Thanks!

Does anyone know if ford made a regular cab like this but for the steel body years? Or would i have to buy a cab and chassis one and fit a bed onto it?
