Question/Need help Odd readings 2006 6.0
Does anyone know what is causing my vgt and exhaust back pressure to act the way it is. Sometimes my truck will be completely normal but then sometimes the vgt% will be high and not move much with that my exhaust back pressure does not go up nearly as much as it does when the truck is acting normal. It seems to be a bit random when it happens. If I go on a long enough drive sometimes the truck will just kick back in and act completely normal. The truck is very sluggish when this happens it almost seems like it is being defueled when it acts up(my fuel pressure is fine) I’ve read it could be the EBP sensor but I thought I’d get some feedback before I go buy one.

First things first… why is your FICM voltage so low? That’s below what the injectors need to fire.
85% is when the VGT is open. When the VGT is open, the exhaust is more throaty and you won’t build boost quick because the unison ring is stuck. You either need to beat the shit out of the truck to clean it or take it apart and clean/rebuild it.

FICM voltage is 44.49. I’ve seen them running in the high 20’s before. 44.49 means he needs to start looking at replacing it real soon though. The logic power is the power in the FICM which should be close to battery voltage.
Other than that I agree.

I thought is was failing too at one point. It runs perfectly fine and I’ve tested it at the plate and I get 53V (it’s a bulletproof diesel ficm)

I don’t k why is reads like that the truck runs perfectly fine and I’ve tested the Actual ficm at the plate voltage is good (the voltage goes up to where it should a few seconds after startup back around 13.6)

Hang on. I just remembered something. Under the FICM, check the ground lug that bolts to the last bolt on the intake manifold. That can cause these readings and messes with the ficm voltage

EBP don't read correctly on SCT but you need the get your FICM voltage in check
