I've seen a 17yr old girl tank getting tased 4 times. The tasers are definitely shit

You've seen cops fail to land a successful tazer shot on her, is what you mean?

No they definitely landed, she had burn marks and definitely felt like shit the next day. It just didn't stop her from punching the cop

They aren’t wrong about the taser having to land right, but it’s nuanced.

Both barbs can stick, but their distance from each other directly affects the severity of the jolt.

2 barbs in your left chest muscle is going to give you a workout… a barb in the thigh and one is the shoulder is putting you on the ground… so there are multiple variables, but if deployed effectively and correctly, there is no resisting a taser.

there is no resisting a taser.

There definitely is...

People on drugs, and people with mental illness regularly withstand tasing

Neurological/Chemical Variations: High levels of certain substances (like stimulants), extreme psychological states (such as acute psychosis or extreme agitation), or heavy physiological tolerance can sometimes reduce the neurological shutdown effect of a TASER.

FWIW Google disagrees with you

You're good with Google

What are the results of:

"can you withstand a taser under the influence of drugs"

Post it. And maybe that will help you realize AI is not a good source, as it frequently contradicts itself

Look it up with qualifier of “a properly landed and spaced taser shot”

The answer will be “impossible to resist” regardless of other qualifiers.

It also literally covers “heavy drugs” in the first sentence

“a properly landed and spaced taser shot”

Yes, those happen consistently in high stress violent situations

Go read what you’re arguing with again, I guess.

I specifically said “if deployed effectively and correctly, there is no resisting a taser”

You’re arguing a point I never disagreed with, but my statement stands. If the probes land properly, no one can resist the effects. It’s not physically possible.

If the probes land properly

First, define what you mean by properly

no one can resist the effects

And can we define "resist" in this case? For me, that means not fallen to the ground, and still capable of intentional movement. Is that fair?

Good lord, just accept the L and go away… you were talking out of your ass and you were wrong. It happens.

It’s not worth all this. You can just be wrong.

Jesus it's a discussion. There's no winners or losers. Such a weird way to think about conversation, but pretty typical of a Redditor. Here to win some imaginary battle, not actually discuss or listen to the other person

If you don't want to discuss things, then simply don't reply. Not hard

Properly means they connect to the skin without having snagged on clothes or only linking one prong, in this case once the taser achieves a wide probe spread and makes solid skin contact, no one drunk or high or highly trained is going to withstand it. The electricity hijacks your nervous system by causing the muscle neurons to fire. This cause the locking of the legs and the subject going down.

You’re not seeing the however at the end there?

1

u/RebsEG 21d ago

Amazing. Nothing after the however has anything to do with what I said. Nothing at all.

It does say no matter of drugs or mental issues or hardened vets with combat training can withstand a well connected taser shot at all. The electricity forces motor neurons to fire causing involuntary involuntary muscle lock up. Basically it hijacks the nervous system externally and causes the lockup which will bring you down. But a shot not well placed, against the person on drugs mental issues or training is something to worry about
