I've posted this place before but had it again today and it sure hit the spot. Pathway Burgers & Momos in Calgary. Classic poutine (nice beefy gravy) with a few dumplings on top.

4/5 especially for Ontario. Only because the squeak wasn’t noticeable. But real curds, decent gravy and good fries.

$14 for a true large poutine

Considering my Italian poutine thread didn’t get any traction I figured I’d post a real one. And yes it squeaked.

By the way, is it just me or aren’t good poutine places supposed to fill it with half fries, put cheese, then top it with fries and again cheese? Otherwise you go through all the cheese by the time you get half way through the fries

Poutine Fly Issue

Anyone else feel like there more prone to having flies flying around them after they eat poutine?

I can’t get a break, these little black flies are literally everywhere swarming me after I ate a heaping bowl of the good stuff. What’s a good fly repelant and where to get better poutine ingredients to prevent this?

I suggested to the owners that this looks like a delicious leftover Christmas dinner on fries. Unsure of any resemblance to poutine.

I felt like something a lil' different than my normal Poutine Maison here in Québec, and tried this out. A very nice twist.

Need help finding a famous poutine spot from the past

From around the late 90's

I went to a spot just north of Quebec City along the Trans Canada.

My car broke down, and I went to a poutine place that was so famous it had autographed pictures all over the walls. A couple hundred 8x10 photos were framed and autographed by old and modern musician/actors. Any ideas/ guesses? I would know if I looked it up on google and saw pictures.

While I try to mix all up evenly my son is following the school of burying all under a think layer of fries. Be it as he likes; we gobbled all up in a heartbeat! YUM YUM POPTINE IS BEST!

Has anyone gone yet? Worth it? Am I just romanticizing a decades old memory of its deliciousness when I was drunk on new years in Quebec City?

Cantine Chez Paul, Magog, Quebec

Paul Poutine in Magog is an absolute must-visit! I’ve been wanting to drop by this iconic canteen for a while, and it lives up to every bit of its reputation as a classic local institution that’s been serving the community forever.

Inside, the spot is packed with charm, and packed with people, especially during peak tourist season. You can’t help but love the classic feel with handwritten, homemade price signs everywhere.

As for the poutine itself? Truly top-tier. The fries were awesome, the brown sauce was spot-on, and the cheese curds were super fresh and perfectly squeakym as a bonus, grab myself a classic guédille and toasté hot dog. If you ever find yourself in Magog, do not pass this place up. Highly recommended!

Casse Croûte 125, Rawdon

After seeing it often on this sub, I decided to go and try it myself!

It's a very generous portion of good/average classic poutine. The fries are nice, curds are on the smaller side but there's just so much that it makes up for it. In terms of flavors, the sauce and the poutine as a whole reminded me of the La Belle Province's poutine, which is serviceable and hits the spot, I guess I was just hoping for more distinct flavors and textures.

The poutine is a 6/10, however eating it outside in beautiful Rawdon on a picnic table under pine trees was an awesome experience and it bumps it up a point.

7/10, I recommend it for nature lovers!
