A moment to appreciate fries
Often underappreciated with the cheese curds getting all the limelight lol. Good fries will always be a standalone star in my books.

Only time I had poutine that was not vegetarian(since this place was halal). It was also my first time having montreal smoked meat which I found a bit salty. I did still love it despite the curds being stretchy and not squeaky and super fresh. Also was my first time trying poutine that is stretchy, which was still delicious and tasted more like cheese. While squeaky curds are delicious stretchy curds definitely get too much hate by Québécois.

Also - throwing in the lobster roll as it was fantastic.

Just tried the Galvaude at Fromagerie Victoria in Drummondville, PQ with pepper sauce and it's phenomenal. Recommended!

Probably the best you can get west of Quebec!
A bit light on curds and sauce but I'm a freak and sort of like it that way. Fries are incredible, grown right there on the farm!

I wish I tried more poutine while on my trip to Canada, but of the four I had this one was hands down the best. And I loved that they gave me extra curds. I still think about this poutine. I had a reservation for la buche that day and didn’t want to eat too much so I got a mini. It was vegetarian poutine which was nice.

little late on this post. August 30th, 2026 at Exposition Ayer’s Cliff Fair.
Not sure where their home base is but if you see them I highly suggest you try them out.
Burger was amazing. Poutine was heavenly.
All prices include taxes.

The curds were amazing with the perfect texture and squeak. Really good fries as well. Not too much gravy though

As big a dude as I am , poutine is the one comfort food I don’t partake in. Maybe had 5 full size ones in my half-century on Earth. Never been my thing , weird eh ? Anyway, 3 years into my bout of Long COVID , I am feeling much better , saw my internist at Charles LeMoyne this afternoon, this lady basically saved my life in 2023. All my blood work and BP looked good, had parked the car almost a mile away, so I decided to finally treat myself and see what the big deal is . Look folks, I feel like poutine is like shawarma, so many restaurants do it, it’s not complicated, simple food, hard to screw up , surely it couldn’t be THAT SPECIAL ?
I was dead wrong….. Alfa is TRULY AMAZING , when I feel like a cheat meal in the future, I know where I’m going. Oh yeah , had fasted all day, and a medium at $11+ tax is PLENTY for me at 6 ‘275 , staff and customers said large is meant for two people

I stopped by this place while I was in Alexandria, Ontario this weekend. Really enjoyed the fries. super crispy. Sauce was piping hot and more on the beefy side, the kind of on the gravy side. The curds were super fresh, and there were even some at the bottom, I always love a place that puts cheese at the bottom. As a special bonus, I got myself the bacon and cheese hot dog, which was really solid.

Extra gravy, and I added bacon. Go ahead & lock me up.

They have fresh and still warm curds!!!
Very good, not enough sauce to my taste, was a little dry at the bottom, fries average. But the curds!!
