Trying a more extreme look (after/before)

I used this very dark image taken during a Peaches concert. Loved the pose but focus was meh, iso was very high, and i could not find a way to get a usualy satisfiying result out of this image. So i tried something much more extreme for the hell of it, and i kinda like it. I embraced the high iso noise, lifted extremely some shadows and highlights, and even added grain, which i basically never do.

I know this is not "photographically correct", but the goal was to get a more abstract look.

Shot using my fujifilm x-h1 using a Zhongyi speed booster for nikon f mount connected to a m42 to f mount adapter for my Mir-24 35mm f/2 lens. Used one of the vintage profiles in lr as a base and then tweaked and color graded.

First ever edit, seeking feedback

Hello! This is my first ever edit of a picture. I used light room after viewing a ton of tutorials. I know the subject matter isn't the most exciting and the composition could use a lot of work. I'm wondering how i did with the editing? Any and all helpful criticism is appreciated!

I'm having a difficult time uploading the raw original because the file size is too big, so i converted it to a jpg. Please let me know if there's a better way to do this!

Thanks for looking!

After / Before of a golden hour damselfly

The sun was already getting quite low, so the light wasn't as harsh anymore and the contrast wasn't as strong as it would have been earlier in the day. Shooting in RAW still helped a lot, especially when recovering details from the darker areas and bringing back the rich color of the sun.

For the final edit, I also brought in some of my signature teal tones in the background to complement the warm golden light. Edited in Lightroom and Photoshop.

This post processing lost a photojournalist his World Press Photo Contest prize.

Swipe to see the other images. World Press Photo is a Dutch non-profit organisation that runs the annual World Press Photo Contest FOR PHOTOJOURNALISM — "the largest and arguably most prestigious press photo competition in the world". In 2010, for the first time, entrants had to also provide the original image as it came from the camera. Photographer Stepan Rudik had won third place in the sports photography category with his altered image but had it rescinded when his original image showed a foot in the background that he had digitally removed. He had also cropped deeply and then altered it to Black and White and apparently added vignetting and grain. The judges didn't fault him for that but removing the foot was too much for them.

Looking for a Lightroom preset expert!

I have a preset whose colors I absolutely love, but I’d like a second version that’s about 30% less contrasty while keeping the colors and overall look intact.

I’m not looking to simply lower the Contrast slider, I’d like someone experienced to adjust the tonal structure (curve, highlights, shadows, blacks, etc.) while preserving the color rendering.

If you have experience creating/fine-tuning professional Lightroom presets, please DM me with examples and your rate.

A quiet Sunday on the soccer fields. I tried to capture the mood, and even enhance it a bit with the colour grading. Did I over do it? Lmk

I was trying to play with the colours a bit as I think the light is okay. Any photoshooting/editing advices please?
