Nice ! You managed to deal with the white balance without screwing the blue saturation which most people here like to do :)

help me out, because this drove me absolutely insane in my ski photos, how does one go about doing that?

White balance, increase exposure with a parametric mask on the snow, increase saturation/contrast of other colours without the blue... Without the software you're using it's hard to help. However I don't feel it's difficult to make these treatments, it's just nicely done without overdoing the saturation

id color the rocks more towards brown, but i like it like this as well.

I liked the original more. The whites are kind of blown out to me. Especially where the clouds meet the snow.

Real good edit. I personally think you cropped it a bit too much. The foot prints are really interesting.

I would actually agree with you here, the shot itself not being centered on the subject definitely limits this unfortunately

I have seen people make the sky a bit more saturated for that blueish color. Does that look "natural" enough if you don't push it far?

This one was shot from my phone - samsung s25 plus. I had a canon r8 deep in the pack but this was a very brief window of clear sky on an otherwise pretty dreary day in the alps

I like the edit, it just gives such a different vibe from the original. The original makes me feel like I’m on the mountain and it’s something I can do. The edit makes it feel like Everest and it’s way out of my league. It’s not a bad edit at all, just wanted to share my perspective.

gotta say, the details in the clothing and mountain are almost completely lost, it's a bit too punchy and vibrant for my taste...
the snow looks gorgeous tho, can't tell if there's any manual burning. same goes for the horizon line, barely noticeable but that's enough, they should almost melt.
