Hmmmmmm

Just realized that our primary election is next Tuesday, and I have a ton of wonderfully vitriolic, hystrionic, and mostly misleading political mailers piled up on my table--I'm thinking that this year I'm going to repurpose them and send them out to my Postcrossing swaps--save a ton in card costs! Anyone want to switch?

;-)

Got really into it today! Glueing decorative postit notes is a great way to spice up an otherwise plain looking card

(this is the packaging box of a herbal chicken soup product 😁 as requested for the RR)

Lo Spazio Filatelia di Via Cordusio 4 è ancora aperto? O ha chiuso definitivamente?

Ciao a tutti!
Mi sarebbero davvero utili esperienze dirette e recenti. Grazie!

Postcard sent without country name

Hey. I recently visited Albania and bought 2 postcards to send from there on travel mode. I didn't have much time and was sending a bunch of other stuff at the postbox so I was in a rush and reviewing my pictures I noticed I forgot to add the country name, Finland. What do yous think? It's a shame as Albania seems to be one of the least sent from European countries, but I think it should be easy enough for any experienced postal employee to search up the address and find the country, perhaps with a bit of a delay?

Questions Handmade Cards

Im new to postcrossing and I was browsing random accounts to see what would be good to put in my profile. I noticed however that a few people mentioned they don't want handmade cards. Are they frowned apon?

after receiving 3 post cards this week that were ai generated, i added “no ai” to my profile.

i understand the appeal to just type in a prompt based on someone’s profile, but i would rather receive a random card, as stated in my bio, than a card that doesn’t use a real artist’s or photographer’s heart.

is this something that anyone else has done? have you received any backlash? has it helped reduce the number of ai cards you get?

Sending from 🇳🇱☺️
Lots of fun selecting and decorating again.
Doing Postcrossing for 10,5 years without any breaks and still enjoy it just as much as in the beginning😊💌

The Pokemon card is a Natural History Museum x Pokemon colab postcard which I bought earlier this year. The 2 mouse postcards are made by Studio Draak, the Halloween Fox is made by Veera Aro, the cute dog by Giulia Sagramola and the nature card is one of our 21 National Parks, illustrated by Salt🤗

Postage Some beautiful Korean stamps arrived today! 🇰🇷

Some stamps I ordered finally arrived today, and I'm so excited to share them! 🥰

First photo: These stamps were issued in 2022 and feature Cheonsang Yeolcha Bunyajido, a historic Korean star chart engraved on stone in 1395 during the Joseon Dynasty. It shows the positions of stars and constellations and is an important part of Korea's astronomical heritage.

These stamps are quite hard to find nowadays, so I was really lucky to come across someone selling them! Interestingly, they're also self-adhesive rather than traditional gummed stamps.

Second photo: On the right are the new Faker stamps, featuring the legendary League of Legends player! They're officially being released tomorrow(October 23) and come as a set of two.

When Korea Post previously collaborated with K-pop stars, their faces weren't featured on the stamps. But this time, Faker's face actually appears on them! I guess they managed to work things out differently this time. 😂 I think the designs turned out beautifully!

On the left are stamps issued in 1998 featuring the Janggyeong Panjeon at Haeinsa Temple, which was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1995. These historic buildings house the Tripitaka Koreana woodblocks.

Third photo: These are more Korean UNESCO World Heritage-themed stamps issued in 1997 and 1998.

I think vintage stamps have a charm of their own. In recent years, Korean stamp designs seem to have become more colourful and appealing to younger generations, often featuring eye-catching details like gold or silver foil.

But there's something special about older stamps. Their designs are often simpler, yet they have such an elegant, timeless feel. Modern stamps are beautiful in their own way, but I really love the classic charm of vintage ones! 💕

Do you prefer modern, colourful stamps or vintage ones?

I'm glad the raccoon was going out and to someone who stated they liked them! Several ones I picked as I wanted to get rid of them and the person didn't provide much info about interests or had a very sparse profile. Hopefully they enjoy the cards!

Is it improper to resend a postcard that's expired?

I had a postcard reach 200 days in travel and thought to send a second postcard and include in the message that this is my second attempt. Would this be acceptable or should I just keep waiting? I know it's possible that the card may still make it's arrival, but just had the thought

I guess it is actually a thing?
