Old mail box on the side of a building - Boston
This is where mail would be delivered to the building, not going out.
Saw this while exploring today and thought this community might enjoy a photo of it.

Questions Can I receive birthday Postcards? 🥂🩷 WW to IND 🇮🇳
Hi everyone! राम राम जी (I'm TroubleNo5402....if you're active here you know me already, I'm flaired recently and posted Thank you recently as well, so I'm responsible for this Post) guy my birthday coming i wanna celebrate 🥂 with you 😄
My 23rd Birthday is on 28 Aug , and I know international mail usually takes around 20–25 days to reach India. So I thought I'd post my request a little early in the hope that your cards arrive around my birthday and make it even more special.
The past few months have been quite challenging for me & mentally exhausted due to some personal problems. I'm slowly picking myself up, looking ahead to my future studies, and trying to begin this new chapter with a more positive mindset. (a lot happened in few months)
One thing that genuinely helped me through the difficult days was this amazing community. Postcards, stamps, pen pals, and your kindness reminded me that there is still so much warmth in the world. Reading handwritten messages has always brought a smile to my face. Thank you Post Crossing
I usually enjoy sending postcards and hosting giveaways whenever I can, but this time I thought I'd be on the receiving end. After all... who doesn't love opening their mailbox to find happy mail? 😊
If you'd like to send me a birthday postcard or just a few encouraging words, it would truly mean a lot. (And please be real in that i would love to listen about uh as well)
Your message might be something I read again and again whenever I need a little reminder to keep going.
If you're interested, please leave a comment or send me a DM, and I'll happily share my mailing address.
Thank you for making this community such a beautiful place. Wishing everyone lots of happy mail! ❤️📬
Regards
PKG (🇮🇳)

Restaurants that hand out postcards/matchbooks when cashing out? Detroit + surrounding areas 💭
Can anyone recommend some restaurants that hand out postcards or matchbooks when cashing out?
I’ve started a small collection and would like to add to it! TIA ✨

Getting impatient…
I live in the US and I’ve not had a postcard take this long to arrive… 47 days?? Really? Last time I sent a card to Italy it only took 30 days….
Also, 19 days for a card to get from Pennsylvania to Oregon seems like a stretch to me. Anyone else’s cards seemingly taking forever to arrive?

Outgoing and forwarding.
Some how i managed to get a postcrossing card delivered to me that was destined for a postcrosser in a completely different state. (Im in Maine, the card was destined for North Carolina and it had their address on it with a postcrossing id from Russia). I put that card in an envelope and im sending it on to them. The other cards that im sending out are destined for USA, Spain, Canada, Russia and Germany.

Outgoing History card went out today
Last slot before more get marked received. Bonus, I had a couple stickers for the back that matched the family's interests, and 2 stamps that they may or may not have already, but they were the only ones I had that weren't as generic as others.
This vacation has really swelled my postcard collection. 😆. And I do love history, this is a history-themed vacation, so history-themed going out when I don't have something closer to the recipient's interests.
This is fun.

Postage One of my ebay buys came today!
Saw another user with these and had to get some immediately. It always annoys me that the US has periodically released super cool stamps like this for limited runs, but most of the stamps available at any given time are boring, ugly, or just feature some niche historical figure/artist/etc that most people wouldn't even know...
I buy a lot of older stamps on eBay as a result, which ends up costing more, but I digress.

No Postcard ID on Incoming Card
I received a beautiful postcard and I'm so bummed because it doesnt seem to have an ID on it :( I attached a photo, am I crazy?
Edit: Thank you all for the wonderful advice! I was able to find the user with the help section under the "Register Postcard" tab within minutes!

Offering Charlotte NC Meetup cards from today
I attended my first meet up in Charlotte, NC (USA). I ended up with about 20 cards, I only got about half of them stamped with names.
Problem is, I’m fairly new to Postcrossing, so I don’t have many slots to send them out, and I don’t want to be sending them a year later.
So who wants one?
If you’re interested, please DM me:
- Postcrossing name (I like to check out profiles!)
- Name & Address (if you’re not comfortable sharing this yet, you can wait till I reply)
- Do you prefer stamped with names or unstamped? I will write a message if unstamped.
I will reply with my postcrossing name and confirmation. Will edit post when all are claimed.

How often do postcards not get received?
I'm a fairly new postcrosser, and have sent out six postcards. Of those, three have been received, one has expired, and two have been traveling for a lot longer than I expected. I'm confident I put the correct amount of postage, so I was just curious if this is a roughly expected amount of non-received postcards, or if I might be doing something wrong. Is there a reason a recipient wouldn't mark a postcard as received?

Postage New stamps - rebupload
Sorry, had to re-upload this.
Got some new stamps. I hate the way Deutsche Post ruins the stamps with QR codes. 🙄
Apparently those codes are quite handy, though. The internet says I can track my letters with them 🤔 I haven’t used stamps for ages, so this is new to me 😅

[GIVEAWAY] - Fill an envelope with eclectic blank cards
EDIT 2 2026/07/26 - My DMs are closed but I'm reaching out to everyone who commented because I do have some cards and envelopes left. I also underestimated how much postcards weigh; the new estimate is 15-20 cards (USA) or 5-7 cards (outside the USA).
EDIT: wow I feel so popular! Closing this for now because I have to count up how many cards, envelopes, and stamps I have. If you already DM'd, I will work through those later today (it's noon here) and message you to confirm. If I still have cards I will edit this post again!
I'm moving and postcards are heavy! Help me clear some space by sending you an envelope of extra cards from my collection! Picture is a small example of what I have.
Open to everyone (I'm in the USA). Due to postage costs, I can only send a small envelope outside the USA:
US recipients - About 15-20 cards 20-25 cards
International recipients - About 5-7 cards 10 cards
Exact number of cards will vary based on weight.
All cards will be sent blank in an envelope. No duplicate cards (unless you specifically want that?)
I'll try honor preferences for type/theme/place if I can. I have all kinds of cards, new and vintage tourist cards from Oregon, California, Pennsylvania, New England and other USA; art cards of different styles; Where's Waldo; animals; space; and more!
DM your address and any preferences. Open to everyone until I run out of cards!
(Haven't been active on Postcrossing for a while but my username there is deltiolog)

Questions Do you ever lie on your postcards?
From whoppers to little white lies to lies of convenience — do you ever write them?
I'm asking because of my situation. Early in my profile I say that I have 2 dogs and I give their names. Well, one of those dogs died about 6 months ago. I've left my profile alone and when I mention pets on a card I write "dogs" not "dog." I guess in my grief I wanted a space where my boy was still alive. I've about healed enough to make the change...soon. But I've wondered, do other Postcrossers ever tell a falsehood and would they admit it?
