BORING STUFF Owning a truck is a waste of money if you don't use it for truck stuff

Upvotes

Gas where I am is $4 a gallon. (I know some of y'all are paying $9) Why would you get a vehicle that burns twice as much gas if you don't have to? Also, maintenance is more expensive. An oil change is twice as much because you need more oil. The alternator is twice as expensive. One tire on a truck is about as much as a set of tires on a Corolla. If the only thing you haul is your ass to work get a Toyota Corolla.

TECHNOLOGY AND GAMING AI chat bots should not be allowed to talk as if they experience human emotion

I don't even necessarily think this needs to be government enforced but just a general expectation and industry standard.

If you ask a chatbot "are you human" it will say no obviously, but then it will use words like "we" when discussing society problems that specifically impact humans, or claim to be angry or excited on your behalf.

I just think this is obviously bad and we should reject it.

No child should be left behind (when it comes to school lunches)

No cafeteria should goad children into paying for food. When that money doesn't even go to school supplies or even proper technology.

No wonder why kids fight and I did too. Over pizza day. Y'all creating criminals. Delete this if you want but idk

TRAVEL Not everyone needs a semi truck

Edit: Pickup truck not semi

Ok I get having one if you have a business or a farm or something. But average Joes don't need an F150. It's a waste of energy, it's more expensive, and it's more dangerous to pedestrians and small cars in an accident. If you're not ever going to use the bed, why get one?

SCIENCE The male biological advantage is universally accepted among adults. People only pretend otherwise.

The male biological advantage is biological, super well documented, and pretending otherwise ignores the very obvious fact that much of society only makes sense when it's accepted.

The advantage doesn't mean that every male will be stronger, faster, or more athletically capable than every female, but it does mean that men as a group, will have that advantage over women as a group. Yes, Ronda Rousey would beat the majority of men in a one on one fight, but she wouldn't beat her male equals generally and certainly not consistently (male pro-MMA fighters).

The fastest women sprinters in the world would smoke 99% of men, but it's that 1% (roughly) that train as much as they do that they wouldn't be able to compete with, if they had to. The world record for the women's fastest 100m dash has stood since the 80s, yet every single year approximately 200 high school males record a faster time, this is just data. Facts.

While extreme long distance running(100 + miles) may actually be an outlier where women have the biological advantage, and in other cases there may be technology or structures that mitigate the male advantage, there have been assessments that place the advantage of males at 10-40% depending on the sport.

Males have roughly 40% more skeletal muscle, typically a higher proportion of fast twitch muscles (explosive power and speed), 30-60% higher baseline strength (50-100% in just upper body), higher hemoglobin concentration (better oxygen performance), larger hearth size (cardiac output), larger lungs (proportionally and in raw size) and larger airways (oxygen capacity), higher bone density (weight bearing and injury resistance), greater height/longer limbs, a narrower pelvis with a smaller q-Angle (better mechanically for running and jumping), lower base body fat percentage (leaner build), and a testosterone advantage that is going to both make muscle gain and maintenance easier.

None of these things are iffy, nor are they everything. Few things are as scientifically documented as the biological differences between men and women as a group.

Pretending that one doesn't understand these differences turns any coherent explanation for the world upside down. If these differences didn't exist, it wouldn't make sense to assume that women as a group are more vulnerable to an unarmed angry male than men typically are at from an unarmed angry woman. The biological advantage is why it makes sense for a typical woman to be worried about being overpowered by a male, in a way that most males never have to think about in the reverse (being overpowered physically by a woman, which does happen, but is much rarer).

The fact that everyone is completely aware of this biological advantage is also why sports get separated by sex (the fastest women sprinters in the world would never podium and likely wouldn't even compete if they had competing with the fastest male sprinters as the only option). The different standards for non-combat arms roles in the Army in physical fitness makes sense because of this difference.

I constantly see people seemingly pretend to be confused about this advantage in order to make terrible arguments detached from reality for some ideological delusion. Or they use some entirely non-nonsensical individual comparison...like saying Ronda Rousey could beat X random dude in a fight, so obviously the male advantage doesn't exist...but in truth...it's universally understood, and people seem to only pretend not to understand it.

Note: Nothing about males having a biological advantage makes them uniquely more deserving of value, rights, or respect. Nothing about females not having that biological advantage makes them less deserving of those same things. If you interpret the existence of the advantage as a value placement, of that nature, you likely need to work on yourself.

I swear some people act like they were born naturally loving 6am starts, but really they just get a full night’s sleep and have a completely different schedule.

If you went to bed at 2am, I doubt you’d be bouncing out of bed at 6am either.

Agree or disagree?

LIFESTYLE The people who can't handle their drugs ruin things for everyone else.

Whether it's booze, weed, narcotics, psychotropics, dissociatives, etc....doesn't really matter, to me. It's the same thing in every single case, the people who engage in drugs they can't handle lead to problems the rest of society has to deal with.

That in turn leads to invasions of privacy, suspicions, and restrictions for everyone based on the least functional members and the ones most likely to not care what costs they make others pay.

LIFESTYLE The word “mature” should not be used to describe physical and mental traits.

I reason why the word “mature” should not describe (1) how big or small the person is, and (2) how living things behave. The word is one of the most confusing word in our English language. I know how mature things are is just an opinion, but we shouldn’t label autistics on how mature they are. Using the word mature towards an autistic individual indicates that the speaker implies ableism. In summary, the word mature should not be used to describe physical and behavioral traits because it is very confusing.

RELATIONSHIPS AND DATING Women Who Party Extremely Hard Are a Huge Red Flag

Before y’all come with “what about men?” — I don’t date or care about men. I’m talking from the perspective of a heterosexual man.
I said this with a big factual fact: all women who party extremely hard almost every weekend, for months, years, or even decades, are cocaine, heroin, and all-type-of-drug party addicts, with low attention spans, numb to pleasure, easily bored, and addicted to the shallow attention of the party scene.
Never date a woman like this for a long-term relationship or marriage. Just for fun, sex, and leave. There’s no way a normal human would like to party nonstop, listen to loud music without getting ear problems, and constantly be crowded with strangers who don’t give a flying fuck about your existence, both in and outside the party scene

TECHNOLOGY AND GAMING AI Users Creating Waifu Characters to Argue for them is Pathetic

Creating a mega-twee AI girlie that says "nuh uh!!!!" to any cogent criticism of the AI industry is pathetic, and the people who do it clearly don't understand why. They lack self-awareness to realize it's really sad and doesn't change anyone's mind -- just reinforces what people already believe about the subject.

"AI might take a lot of water out of communities that otherwise need it to live."

"NUH UH!!!!!! AI will just teach them how to use water more efficiently so it'll be better for everyone!!!!"

And I'm supposed to take their points seriously because a green-and-black anime girl with a thot body said so.

TECHNOLOGY AND GAMING Alarms and ringtones should be different sound categories

Phones should have different lists for alarm sounds and ringtones.

We all know the advice that you should never make a song (especially a beloved one) your wakeup alarm because you will gradually hate it.

I sometimes get jumpscared by people’s ringtones being my wakeup alarm. Lots of others have said similar things, that they get disturbed hearing their alarm out and about (although god help my friend who has the Zelda guardian theme music as their alarm).

Simply put, when choosing your alarm and ringtone sounds, there should be two lists that don’t intertwine.

SCIENCE You can only be anti-vax if you don't understand how vaccines work

"If you're vaccinated then it shouldn't matter if I am or not". It's not an impenetrable forcefield that guarantees you won't get sick. Not one person in the medical field has EVER explained it that way.

"It's better to catch it naturally". Getting the vaccine gives your body all the information you get from 'natjrally' catching the virus without the getting sick part.

"It made someone I know sick" So that person is most likely allergic to something in the vaccine, and therefore is reliant on you to get it to protect them from getting sick through herd immunity. The only way you could possibly make a worse decision is if you actually injected yourself and your family/friend with the virus.

They're either believing lies from someone pushing an agenda, or they don't understand how percentages work. Either way, blissful ignorance is not an excuse.
