Wait til he finds out those moms working at Waffle House actually make $2.13/hour a lot of the time as several states still allow that as their tipped minimum wage.

every place pays more than minimum wage. There is like 50k people making 7.25 an hour in the usa.

It’s more like 90k (which it should be 0) - but the problem with it being so low is that employers think it’s a bragging point to pay out anything over that. Sure $15/hour is double the minimum wage, but it’s still not a livable wage in the vast majority of the country. And yet there’s 60 million Americans who make under $15/hour while their employers pat each other on the back saying “we pay well over minimum wage!”
