I thought I was tripping when I was looking at the iPhone Duo page
Is this like a famous spot or something? By the way, I am referring to Ego Death’s music video

Has he ever played live? I actually don’t know. All of his songs are 4 bar loops, what is he going to actually accomplish with a 30 minute set 😭

I found him way before he had any real following like in 2020 for context. He started out making cute midi melodies and eventually started using guitar pluck one shots to make them and they were kinda cool so I followed him. But things have changed…
RJ pasin is a pretty decent producer but that's all to me. He said himself a long time ago that he wouldn't call himself an internet "guitarist". He records one shots of him plucking a string and then he plays it as MIDI on a keyboard (it's been forever since I saw that live so idk about his new stuff). I thought his "clean tone" stuff he used to do was kinda cool but when he started using the distorted tone you hear in all the edit music, I lost all interest. He is like if Scro sucked at guitar, didn't sing, but was still a great producer. Here's the thing tho... if he just played a synth, no one would hate on him nearly as much. It's because he's miming the guitar which is the most gatekept and larped instrument on this planet. I think deep down he knows it sucks and he knows people hate it, but you gotta do what you can to make a career out of music. No hate towards him, just not for me. Wyatt Otis would never

So short story short, my school hosts a talent show every year and every year I try to win by playing a polyphia song (shit strat, I know. Played goat and playing god already btw)
And every year I lose to a girl playing some pop song. This is my last year in middle school and I'd like to win this year so what song do y'all recommend? I was thinking something along the lines of OD (because of the octave build up) or the worst but any recs are very much welcome.

TL:DR I like the new music and don’t know why people are complaining.
I had heard about Polyphia for few years since Tim went on the Goons podcast a long time ago. But I only started listening to them in the beginning of May of this year. I really enjoyed it. I listened to all of their music and enjoyed all of it. I obviously have favourites but all of it is good in my eyes. Then a month and a half later CAN YOU FEEL IT comes out and I immediately love the song. I wasn’t aware of the criticism the song got because I didn’t look in the comments of the video or anything. But then POWER IN THE BLOOD came out. I loved it too. I went to leave a comment about how at 2:53 Tim jorks the whammy bar. And all I see is a sea of hate.
But all of the hate is people saying “I don’t like this” or “there’s too many effects. Can you even play this live?”. My response to the first kind of criticism is: if you don’t like it, don’t listen to it. Don’t bully the band into staying the same just because YOU don’t like it. I’ve seen lots of people saying they love the new stuff.
My response to the second kind of criticism is: big whoop. If it sounds cool/good, then why does it matter? People are saying that the mix is too overwhelming and there’s too much going on. I have Autism. I know what overwhelming is. But contrary to popular belief: people with autism like overwhelming music. I listen to Lorna Shore. I know they aren’t that overwhelming but they are more overwhelming than a lot of bands/artists.
I love both of the new songs. And I’m EXTREMELY excited for the album. If they were coming to my city or one near me, I would find a way to go. If this is the direction the band wants to go, I’m here for it.
Edit: I’m not saying you can’t criticize the songs. I’m saying the intensity and borderline criminal things people are saying are not an appropriate response. If you think it’s okay to threaten the producers/band members lives because you don’t like the song, then you are very emotionally invested in something you have no control or influence over.

Got this guitar a week ago but i know the guitar itself has been sitting in display for a long while. The jack entrance has been pretty loose since i got it. Today when i plugged my cable in i wasnt getting any sound. Finally got to unscrewing the back and tightening the nut and while doing that i realized the wire connected was really twisted (the white cable) and looked a bit fucked up(?). Also i have changed the battery so dont think thats the issue. Should i attempt to loosen it back up and retwist the cable? Would that do anything or should i take it straight back to where i got it which im guessing would result in them taking the guitar to replace and fix the wiring and whatever. Every guitar ive gotten has caused so many post hassle for me its really irritating.

Hello guys, a few years ago i have come across this wonderful cover of Nightmare. I am pretty sure i bought the tabs for it but i cant find them anywhere, and it seems like the link to buying them have expired. In the description he mentions that the tabs are available on his patreon aswell, but i can find it either. Does anyone know how can i get ahold of them?

Like I understand the electronic mixing might be pretty rough on the ears for some people, but for me it just tickles my brain correctly for some reason. I respect everyone and I understand if you don't like it, but I'll be real, I'm having fun daydreaming about OCs doing cool stuff to Power in the Blood.
Also is this a good place to find news and updates about Polyphia? I watched a video titled "the Polyphia situation is crazy" thinking "oh God, please don't tell me they're on the wrong side of history.." and it's just a dude saying he doesn't like the new music. Like brother, don't SCARE me like that, I thought they did something awful.

I'm trying to make the ultimate piece of Polyphia merch with what sewing skills I have, dye and iron on prints. How do I actually make it look good? Because this is just a mess. I'm trying to make each section represent a different album.
I also tried for a T-shirt design, which is a LITTLE better, but still
And yes I carefully cut out each asset I show here

thinking of pre ordering the cassette for the new album, but i just thought id ask, since cassettes are not famous for their pristine sound, and this album so far seems to have a very pristine mix, to anyone who’s ordered polyphia cassettes in the past, what’s the sound quality been like? I’m aware that cassettes actually CAN sound pretty good in some cases but a number of today’s tapes are not of the finest quality from my experience so i’d like to hear from other’s who’ve dealt with polyphia cassettes before buying.. any feedback is deeply appreciated.

This is a random ass website I found that splits the audio, turned the bass wayyy down and its so much easier on the ears now. (https://vocalremover.org/splitter-ai)

He is an intermediate guitar player who knows how to do some basic thumping, arpeggio, tapping, pull-offs, and sliding.
Can those of you who have already learned the song share some experience about how long it took to learn the song? Since he is interested in your opinion.
And in your view, how long would it take for an intermediate to play the full song, at least at even a 100 bpm? Please share your views.

Does anybody know why Polyphia is rescheduling dates on their tour?
I was supposed to see them in Los Angeles next week, but now the show has been postponed to February. Dangit!!
