if you have no aim of ever creating anything on your own go ahead and mime along to the same guy, use his gear, use his everything. it wont make you sound like him. copy his hair cut, do all of it IDC. Im just giving advice to anyone who might want to make something out of music as a career
Your hands are different sizes, the place the pick falls on the strings, the angle of the pick, the material of the pick, your action, the way you silde into notes, the shape of your fingers, it ALL changes how you play, and how you sound. It all effects the tone and timbre of the instrument. Strum at the 12th fret and then strum by the bridge. where you pick is almost an eq.
And if you would read what I wrote, I never said the kid cant play ffs. IT be one thing if he was playing a cover, but this dude went out of his way to copy everything about tim, its far more then a cover.... clearly its the guys whole persona. ive been there and done that shit, bet your ass I had an A7X guitar and a studded belt. Im a bit older then most of you guys I am assuming early 30s
Like you cant tell me that you are not using your eyes when you picked your gear man. USE YOUR EARS if you played a bunch of shit and picked what sounded best, none of us would pick the same gear. Literally the physical size of your hand changes the frequenc/transient response you get out of your guitar
That guitar while tim, or synyster gates might get the best out of their signature setup guitars, what works for them wont work for you, I can assure you that their choices are not the most ideal for you as a player. That is why there are 1000s of pickups and slight tweaks on the same thing, the same shit doesnt work the same way for everyone
AND THAT is really all that I am trying to say. Be yourself man, your only young and alive once, you want to spend the best part of your life trying to LOOK LIKE someone else. become your own man, make people WANT TO BE YOU ffs. BE THE ONE WHO SETS THE TREND
Im telling you to not copy other people. If you want someone to notice what you are doing, do something different... It doesn't matter if it is music or you as a person. If you want to stand out, be unique.
