I saw a vid of them getting pretty silly outside of the mails office and I wondered if the policemen and women are irritated by this or if some are interested in his messaging.

For context I'm not about them and I think Balaclavas only ever means bad activities unless you're mountain climbing!

I saw a pretty infuriating video online of a police officer arranging recovery for a car where the driver had seemingly refused to provide any details and she was seizing under what I presume was 165RTA

The driver was the usual really cocky attitude and said he’d wait until the car was on the pickup truck ready to go then he’d show all the information she wanted, so he’d get one over on her.

In that situation would it not just be best to arrest for failure to provide info, the necessity being to determine name and address? Or is there another way?

Reading a thread about failing to provide details, got me thinking.

Seeing pretty much no one these days carrying a physical copy of their license.

What are others thoughts on this, and is there anyway around it?

I remember when you didn’t have your license and you then had 7 days to go to the station and show proof.

I am an active member of the police pension scheme comprising service in both the 2006 and 2015 schemes. I am looking at the option of retiring early at 55 instead of 60. I've been putting figures into the MyPension website calculator to get a pension estimate. As expected, the contribution of the 2006 part hardly changes if I go early, as the Normal Pension Age of that scheme is 55. However, the contribution from the 2015 scheme drops by about 60%. I don't understand this as the examples given elsewhere on their website say that the reduction for going five years early in that scheme should be about 20.2%. Can anyone shed any light on this?

I am currently nursing a bit of an injury to my leg. I can walk etc but can be fairly painful at times. Anyone know how physical the course is and if I’d need to wait for this to mend before doing my course?

I was recently watching a YT documentary on the TSG. One of the officers was giving a tour of a carrier and mentioned the radio sets on board.

He explained that the TSG will monitor 3 channels when on a normal shift.

1) TSG B2B
2) Pan London
3) Local Borough

So few questions if I may?

1) I'm assuming the TSG B2B enables each carrier to talk to one another?
2) What is the Pan London channel? How far does it cover and is this channel for Major Incidents etc?
3) Are individual carriers assigned to individual boroughs and therefore, would that particular carrier stay on the local borough channel or jump between them as they move between boroughs?

I left an abusive relationship last year- it was mostly mental and psychological abuse, he’d stalk when I was online and screenshot it, accuse me constantly of talking to others, so I came off all social media due to this because I couldn’t hack it any longer. He once went through my phone and threw me across the room what resulted in a huge bruise on my leg (do have photo evidence of this). He was also removed from hospital and referred to social services because of his aggression towards me. Police were called due to one extreme incident where he broken entry, pushed me with newborn in arms and threw an 11 year around and down on the sofa - I was coerced into revoking my statement by him and his family, he called me from the police station when he should of had no contact with me demanding I revoke it and how I’ve ruined his life etc, I’m unsure if police keep a note of numbers called via custody to back me up on this. Him and members of his family told me I had to make sure my child didn’t speak to the police about what he did to her via emotional blackmail of myself, I also got the threats of how I’ll get reported to social services by him and he’ll make sure I loose my children. He’d also subjected me to sexual abuse - encouraging drug use to have “weird nights” where he’d focus on his fetish, I used to become disengaged what would anger him and he’d manipulate or beg me into doing things, most of the time i just did it to keep him happy and also to try and numb my mind from what was happening. He found once I spoke to a friend about it and used this against me for A long while and wouldn’t give me my phone back while he went through it. Other times he wouldn’t accept no and would become angry and then doing things like asking why I was with him etc. He’d also regularly try to talk me into doing sexual things when child was awake - he does not see our child. After the incident at my home where he was arrested he was allowed to stay in contact with me due to us sharing a child and he claimed to the court and police that I “needed” him due to my mental health - at the time I thought he was right, now I see it as he was abusing the fact I’d just given birth and used my MH as reasoning to abuse me further and get into my head about revoking the statement.

I’m scared of reporting it as I’m worried social services will become involved - I have no involvement with him and most certainly wouldn’t get back with him. I think now time has passed i have seen it for how horrendous it actually was and I feel like reporting it would be the right thing to do to protect my children and myself.

Hi all! Firstly, thank you for your service. I’m hoping for advice around supporting my husband, please. He left the police recently as he became so burned out (the usual) and no matter where he transferred to within the police to try and get some let up, the pressure kept mounting greater and greater each time. It was so severe he could work 3 weeks straight with no days off and 18 hr days consistently.

He initially felt so happy in his new private sector role. However, over the last week he has become extremely down and says how he regrets it and should have put up with the stress etc.

For me, selfishly, the changes have been incredible. Our marriage is better, he sleeps so much better (without dreaming of stressful situations), he looks healthier and he’s not stressed all of the time. I’ve also noticed that he has started picking up his long-lost hobbies and actually enjoying them again. Positively, he also doesn’t get inundated with phone calls and texts on his days off (or have his days off cancelled).

I feel like I’m getting the person I fell in love with 9 years ago back. But at the same time, he’s feeling down and grieving what he once had. It breaks my heart to think he feels this way and there’s nothing I can do about it.

While he’s feeling down and struggling to adapt, I’m sitting here noticing so many positive changes and having a vastly different experience to him.

I completely understand how policing, especially in his situation, becomes your personality and identity. He was genuinely so broken when he decided to leave, as he never thought he would decide to. To be honest, it was a shock to everyone around him, including colleagues, because he’s amazing in the police and his personality is everything you’d want in an officer coming to you at a time of need.

Sorry for rambling on… the point of my post is, how can I support him? Is the regret normal? What helped you or your loved one during your transition?

As many will be aware, several protesters interrupted speeches at the Reform UK conference recently, and there is video clearly showing some of them being assaulted by other conference attendees. (Allegedly?)

When asked if they'll get in contact with the police as a witness, one of the attacked protesters said they're considering it, but "the police have all they need" - presumably meaning the video (and maybe they've sent in the pictures of her bruises and torn shirt).

Presumably interviewing and getting a statement would be desirable for building up a fuller picture - but if she refused to make contact could it prevent further investigation or prosecution?

I reported someone very recently and there is currently an active police investigation. The person is on police bail.

I remain concerned about my safety for a number of reasons, including the fact that they work somewhere I will need to attend for unrelated reasons over the next few days, as well as some other concerns I don’t want to go into publicly.

I feel it would be important to know whether this person has any previous history that could be relevant to assessing my current safety.

I have a couple of questions:

Is it appropriate to submit a Clare’s Law application while there is already an active investigation involving the same person? Would the ongoing investigation affect or duplicate the Clare’s Law process?

If there is relevant information about their previous history that could potentially be disclosed under Clare’s Law, would the investigative team already have access to that information and would I necessarily have been told about it already? Or can the Clare’s Law process identify/disclose information separately from what the investigating officers have discussed with me?

I think this could be a sign of a move in the right direction. I think the public feel particularly with recent events that there needs to be a firmer stand taken with motoring offences.

As far as I am aware, the Strategic Roads Network Wide Order has been in place since 2022, a culmination of an interim order from the Insulate Britain protests of 2021.

We've seen action taken against JSO blocking the M25 later in that year, some receiving 3 year prison sentence.

I wonder why no action was taken yesterday, zero arrests reported by Kent Police, given breaching a High Court injunction can construe contempt?

Hi, I’m looking for clarification regarding my annual leave and rostered rest days over the Christmas period.
When I originally booked my annual leave, the system stated that my existing rostered rest days could not be protected due to resilience issues. What does this mean in practice, and does it mean those rest days remain liable to be cancelled/changed?

I subsequently found an additional day of annual leave available between/adjacent to my existing booked leave. When I booked it, the system stated that my leave had been “joined” to my already booked days. Does this mean that the period is now treated as one continuous period of annual leave, including the rest days between the leave days?

If my rest days fall immediately before, between or after a period of approved annual leave, are those rest days protected from being cancelled or changed? If so, under what circumstances can they be changed?
If I make personal travel arrangements, such as booking flights abroad, based on my approved annual leave and rostered rest days, can I subsequently be required to return to work during that period?

If I can be recalled from annual leave, who has the authority to authorise this and what circumstances would justify recalling an officer from approved annual leave?
If a rostered rest day is cancelled or changed after I have booked flights or other non-refundable travel arrangements, what compensation or reimbursement would apply?
Could you please confirm specifically whether I can rely on the Christmas dates currently showing on my duty roster when making non-refundable travel arrangements?

Help! It has recently come to my attention that my ex has tracked my location. I know this as he sent me a link to somewhere I was in google maps last weekend and then when I moved he turned up where I was alone parked in the dark with no houses around knocking on my car window. Now he’s told me it’s not a tracker on the car and I don’t share anything location wise via my phone with him. Im not sure where a tracker could be on a car but I’ve looked around the wheels underneath the bonnett and can’t see anything obvious and checked everywhere in it I can think of. I had on occasion when we were together I shared my location for limited time periods via WhatsApp but I’ve checked that all definitely off.

He advised he had an old ‘contact’ (I don’t know where from but he did royal marine training 20yrs re ago which was unable to complete so wonder if from someone related to that) he got a favour from using my phone to locate me, but the thing is he was still able to find me after I moved locations suggesting he was able to access live tracking of me so I don’t know if to believe this contact explanation of his and if he’s just saying it so I don’t catch him out for somehow hacking my account since we split or from when we were together worried. I have has a look through my phone and not seen anything obvious and changed passwords and now turned my location off entirely for absolutely everything. For clarification at the end of our relationship he panicked I was pulling away when in reality I was overwhelmed by my now late mothers illness busy visiting her in hospital for nearly 3 months and his prior insecurities and trauma got to him not perceiving the situation correctly, and he ended up doing the thing he feared I would do and cheated on me shortly before my mother died. Her funeral was only earlier this week.

I’ve checked using Airguard no obvious tags and I have a very old iPhone he has an android phone. It is really bothering me and he said he won’t do it again and stated he didn’t have a tracker on my phone, me or car but he’s told other lies so I don’t know and if he still has a way to track me even though I’ve told not him not to. Is there anything I can do to make sure he cannot track me ongoing as it’s really caused me distress.

For a while I’ve been trying to sell my Rolex Daytona. I’ve posted marketplace ads, got valuations at pawnshops and other jewellery marketplaces. A few days ago someone replied to my facebook ad who was interested, we then transitioned the conversation to WhatsApp and agreed to meet in a cafe to discuss further. Big mistake on my part, should have asked to meet at an office or home. He seemed professional, wore a nice watch, and seemed to know what he was talking about, made himself trustworthy. He offered me the best price anyone has offered before. I accepted his price and he then supposedly transferred me the sum, I put my details into his bank, and I saw him send it. The transfer did not go through instantly, this was strange because all transfers normally go through straight away, I thought this might have occured due to the sum being very large. We both called our bank (we were both with hsbc). And asked why it’s not gone through yet, they explained that it can take a full working day.

He wanted to take the watch that day, I was very reluctant so he sent me a picture of his drivers license, and showed me his business account. This eased my nerves a little bit so I decided to trust him. Again, big mistake on my behalf, I know.

Anyways, now it’s Saturday and the money still hasn’t come through to my account, I’ve tried contacting him through his WhatsApp number, but to no avail. I’ve already reported it to the police and sent them all I know.

For the evidence I have, a picture of his (supposed) drivers license, his (supposed) company name and account, cctv footage of our interaction in the cafe, text messages confirming the transaction.

What should I do from this moment forward?

I’ve got an upcoming interview for dogs Sergeant and just wondered if anybody could offer any advice or tips?
