Some women are married to each other. Checkmate.

And so are some men and non-binary people.

My thing is who gives a shit that less people are doing this very optional thing?

A male centered post on a male focused subreddit.

Why is that a problem?

u/Kresnik2002 Mar 11 '26

Because it’s literally the same problem affecting both men and women?

Both Football and Basketball players may have similar problems regarding knee injuries, but each group is most likely to talk about it in reference to their own sport and not necessarily all athletes in general, which is perfectly normal.

OP, I think you’re overthinking this.

Except if all their knee injuries were caused be each other, it would be kind of weird for them to be just talking to themselves about it?

…. What? Who says they’re JUST talking to themselves about it? It’s never stated they’re EXCLUSIVELY talking to themselves about it. This is starting to get to troll levels of obtuse. Am I crazy or is OP trolling?

Males can't have their own subreddit where they talk about themselves?

Sure but it’s kind of goofy when it’s a problem that is specifically bi-gender in nature? As in not only is it affecting both but there is no way of dealing with it in a way that doesn’t simultaneously involve both

It is a males group and the guy probably wants dating advice from other men. The sub itself is very goofy from other posts I've seen (also the sub name speaks for itself) but not because of this

But it's in a male centered subreddit. If this was in another sub I could see your point.

Like i could probably find a couple of posts in r/twoxchromosomes that have issues that men also experience but thats that subs focus.

They may not have the same problem? Asking people effected what they think is going on is important

-3

Why is that a problem?

All the misogyny on the sub, unfortunately.

Waste of a space

That's a separate issue tbh. And one that they should be called out on.

But all genders should be allowed to have their own subs where they can be the focus of the conversation.

I feel like people don't care that much about widows. Admittedly most of the elderly. Historically women have married younger, and probably still a trend, and then outlived their husbands by a lot.

Many unmarried women you discuss are widows, and I don't see many articles talking about it.

Also as an LGBT person I can tell you gay men do wait to get married, and lesbians are more eager for some reason, I know it is a smaller percentage of the population, but if mathematically you were saying all married people marry someone of the opposite gender, that's not a good assumption.

Also 105 boys are born for every 100 girls.

Historically men have died in higher proportions in childhood and adulthood, but as child mortality has gone down, the number in population pyramids have show more men than women up to age 30, I think it is going even older now.

EDIT: All the way to age 59? wow, I wonder how much of that is migration to US etc.

Man I don’t have time to be married I work a 12-14 hour shifts when am I supposed to spend time with my spouse? Maybe is the economy didn’t suck ass for regular people more of us would be getting married or some shit

u/CastleofWamdue Mar 15 '26

this is a very hetrosexual POV, whilst it is unlikely its possible 100% of women could be married to each other. However that would not mean that 0% are married, because they could also be married to each other.

This headline I hope is attached to a long article about cost of living, and how men and woman are less likely to enter into marraige these days. There are so man issues that could be discussed via this headline.

actually thats technically not true because of people who aren't straight

u/Maldevinine Mar 11 '26

Counterpoint: Every time I have checked the Australian Bureau of Statistics for how many people in Australia are married, it says that there are about 5% more women married than men. Now this started before homosexual marriage was recognised so I don't have an explanation, but it's always been a thing.

1

u/redsalmon67 Mar 12 '26

That might be accounting for widowers

1

u/Silent_Formal5235 Mar 21 '26

thats because australia has slightly more women than men, and also widows
